Manik goes in the situation after knowing all bits of it so that he always remains in control. Not knowing such crucial information as to who sent the goons, that threw him off guard. He's the one who wanted all this to happen, wanted her enough broken that she wouldn't even spare him a single glance now. I know Manik is a gadha that way that he still seeks her after vowing to himself that he wouldn't, but that's all endearing and sweet. But blaming her and saying ke she wouldn't understand where he came from...it's something I really can't just overlook.

It's twisted. He wanted her to believe the lies so that he can carry with his sacrifice yet a part of him wants her to catch them and call him out. He is angry that it's not happening like this. She is buying everything that he is telling her and she is giving up on him - hence the anger, bitterness . He doesn't realize that it's him who is doing it all, the need to control- he is being played by his own hand.

I did not like the way he said "Tum nahin samjhogi" though. It seemed a bit..condescending to me if I may. Matlab he was sort of putting it all on her, blaming her for not understanding. Dude, the girl is BROKEN and you just witnessed it. I know he's a bit hurt that she believed him just like that but isn't that what he wanted? @Maisu- watched the scene again. Before that , there were some instances where his whole reaction changes like when he saw her breaking down, there was guilt, shame and hurt at what he has done. But when she goes on ranting about him coming to see her falling apart- he is like , "Really" and makes a flimsy excuse - she buys it , buys it all.

Then when accuses him about spiking , hating stars and all the shit , basically discarded all the special memories and moments where he was real honest with her. He is angry (he doesn't have any right to it but he does) and thats when he feels like clearing few lies, showing her how some of his lies have truth but since she takes everything he says on the face-value, she won't understand.

Unfair , twisted but he is being like that because he wants her to join the dots and stop him, this will according to him save everything .

Hmmm...I don't think like his thought of wanting her to connect the dots and stop him. Doesn't mean I'd say that this whole point is true. But the thing is, so much emphasis in the show has been put on Manik's dilemma that I kinda feel that Nandini's angst is not being justified right. That's why I have high hopes from the moment Manik finds out about the truth of the fireflies. The girl loved him, despite them not saying the word love...what she felt for him, she symbolized it with love because of her fireflies. Abhi bhi Manik doesn't call what was between them as love but whenever the word love comes in any conversation, he stops short. he may not say it but he feels it. And he now feels that he has lost every right to speak about love..

This I agree they are making it all about his dilemma and I do second you it kind of underplays Nandini's angst. Like at this point more than hurt, it's confusion . She does love him but she equates it all with fireflies somewhere I feel as much as it is important , it shortchanges her own feelings. The trust she has given him, I wanted her to say it that he promised never to hurt her again. I hope they give more such clashes and Nandu continue lashing out. because at this point, he is denying her the space and solitude where she can process it. He is confusing the shit out of her and some more.

I am glad he got to hear about fireflies, I like how they connected it with her mother's love that increases his guilt and also validates just why she trusts them so much, it's a mark of her mother's blessings and he took it away. He , in the car, kind of understood it what he doesn't know that Nandu gave him that true love which her fireflies promised and he threw it all away .

He doesn't want to say it out loud that it is love, he knows what he feels but saying it will change everything.He might not go about the sacrificing thing , hence his pause. He has very strong fierce views on love and if he acknowledges the word for Nandu , he knows it will bite him bad. He is still running away from it. What will change when he says it- the word love for her , will he be able to go back and pretend his lie? But the more he talks about love, he realizes what he has lost. I hope he gets to know about fireflies and that is when he will break down. Till now he is holding it , justifying it but if her true love flutters in all light , he might not be able to survive .

You know when Nandu angrily pokes him on the head and says that she can't do anything about his sick mind, I was reminded of all the times when Manik maliciously poked her on the head. Pehle I found it a bit cute the way she gave it back to him but when I registered the way she was trying to suppress her anger, I felt like this girl really wants to physically hit him to get all her anger out. Not another punch or a slap, but a kick on the shins or blows of punches of his arms..she needs to vent out all the hurt he caused her and he has to let her do it. Who else can she turn to?

I don't think by equating her feelings to the glow of the fireflies shorthands her feelings. The feelings that came to her after the Diwali night were same when the fireflies glowed. They didn't change. She was the same Nandini. But the glow of the firelies kind of made it final for her that yes, what she feels isn't something light or temporary. It's true. One has to account her faith on the fireflies. She's young, her whole life's motto revolves around the fireflies, this is the first time she's feeling all these feelings. If she wanted to make it a bit magical, I can't blame her. Yeah, she's confused and hurt and she's all things questions and no answers. Manik hasn't left her any concrete bread crumbs to follow..abhi she's too blinded by her own tears to register anything anyway. So in her anger she's assuming stuff and questioning everything. The first hurt always does that to you..

Manik breaking down as immense guilt washes over him, yeah..I need that to happen. He sacrificed but he has no idea that he made a girl lose faith on love. In his head, he thought that she'd go to Dhruv with the same love that she showed to him. But once he finds out that his sacrifice has rendered her incapable of love...oh man, I so await that scene.
