Ufff yeh writing ka keera! Never seems to leave me alone!! 😆
Just the day I thought I'd spend my night flooding Niti's twitter feed, I felt like coming up with something that's SOOO not related to her- it is, in a way. Related to Nandini, more like. Okay never mind.
As the title says, it's about Harshad. Probably my first post on his character- just his character.
From the day he have saved Rishabh till today's episode, somehow, somewhere the inner workings of his mind have always been a mystery.
He has gone from being the shady, grey guy to an outright male version of Nina Sayers (Black Swan) minus the delusions.
The point of the post is, his role in the show. I don't believe he's just another 'bad guy' cause he's more than that. Much more.
I remember having fun comparing 'Harry Potter' characters with the characters of this show with Rafz. She just couldn't come up with a comparison for Harshad when I offered 'Tom Riddle' (not Voldemort).
You see the similarities, if you subtract a cold-blooded murderer, Harshad has a lot of Tom Riddle in him.
The guy who prefers solitariness to company, followers to friends, hatred to love, obsession to hard work and luck.
But once again, returning to the point- his role in the show- a catalyst.
He has been a catalyst without his knowing. Right from MaNan love story to Fab 5's new avatar.
A lot of people have wondered and guessed correctly as to why was he being so nice to both the girls. Let's just say that his major target have always been Nandini!
He must have heard from someone that this girl has dared to punch Manik in front of the college and he had immediately concluded that she could be his biggest weapon against Fab 5. What he didn't expect was Manik's obsession regarding Nandu- but it didn't take the smartass too long to guess that too- and it only came as an unexpected bonus!
He formed the band NH3 because he wanted to keep Nandu at his side- I can bet that back then he was only tolerating Navya for her sake. He wanted to use Manik's object of obsession against him. He saw her as a potential threat for Aalya and Manik's relationship and got the perfect opportunity to use it when she hid inside the storeroom and he made sure that they both end up at the same place.
His demeanour started changing from the moment intra-college competition was nearing and his personality took a 90 degree turn when Musicana came knocking at the doors. Obsession took over his rational thinking and he resorted to spying over Fab 5.
He didn't even realize what the consequences of his actions would be.
But at the end of the day, he again became the catalyst who made Fab 5 confront each other on their secrets.
Now I want to see how he'll take the loss? Will he lash out at Nandu? Or will he keep his calm and think of something bigger?
What if he comes to know that Manik and Dhruv are in love with Nandu? I'm sure he'll end up doing something that'll again make him the cupid for MaNan.
