But has he decided yet? I think it was just his reaction. First reaction. He is in a
state of shock. First he was so bewildered to know that Dhruv had planned so much
for Nandini and then Dhruv used the word love. He is in shock and going through so
many emotions at once. Manik has always been a friend for a long long time now. He
has just become a lover and infact it hasn't been long since he became a true
lover. It was after Nandini's confession that their relationship would have started
like a proper relationship between two lovers. Before that it was the whole process
of realising their feelings and how they affected each other. It was only recently
that they accepted to themselves what they wanted from each other. That night was
confession night. So it was just going to be the start of their relationship as
lovers. But Manik hasalways been a friend, a best friend=brother, fab 5 leader and
everybody's caretaker, those relationships he has been living for a long long time
now. so i think it came instinctively to him to support Dhruv/or to think of Dhruv
first FOR NOW. Maybe he didn't even know how to react. It happens a lot many times
that we are torn between two people we love the most and are confused as to whose
happiness should we think about first, Manik being Manik he's always thought about
Dhruv or his friends first, he took care of Dhruv like his baby brother. And he is
in so much pain right now, shocked and numbed at the same time..he has to deal with
his own pain first. Right now he's only thinking that it's a choice between his
happiness and Dhruv's happiness and his instinctive and old habit led him to place
Dhruv's happiness before his. That it is also a matter of Nandini's happiness is yet
to sink in. But when and if he sees her sorrow with his own eyes maybe then the real
tussle will begin. And he has to see that many times maybe not just once. And we all
know that Nandini is one damsel that Manik cannot see in distress. So his decision
will take time. And even if he does take some decision he won't be able to stick to
it. Hadn't Kabir also said goodbye forever to Raghav. But he realised that it's not
just possible to have a break-up suddenly if its true love. Manik has never
experienced this kinda true love. After listening to Kabir he's realising the
certainity that it's love and it's true love. With Alya it was never true love or
for that matter even love.So he's going through a lot of realisations. He yet has to
see Nandini's reaction, her pain and her proximity with Dhruv(even its friendship
from Nandini's side) and what it's like to not have her around him 24/7 day or night
and what it's like to not have and exert that right over her which he felt but not
realised was only his, whether it was at his house/her house, whether in college or
in jungle, whether in store room alone or at stage before the entire world,whether
in the road or in the cafe, whether on top of his car or inside his car or standing
next to his car hugging, whether in his thoughts or right in front of him, whether
in the green room or in the auditorium, whether behind the music wing or in the
canteen, whether in the library or at the stairs, whether in Alya's house or
beneath the true outside the house, whether at friendship's day party or at swimming
pool party, whether they were singing together in old age home or giving a duet in
jungle, whether dancing at birthday celebration or getting intimate at Diwali
celebration, whether it was fighting for pen or drum sticks or dupatta, whether
taking care together of Dhruv or Rishab, being concerned together for Kabir's
love/secret or for Fab 5's friendship, whether it was watching stars together or
fireflies...or whether it was saving the jar of fireflies together...she has been
everywhere around him, with him...they have been around each other, with each other,
together everywhere, everytime..since 94 days(Dhruv met Nandu the same day she saw
Fab 5 performing?+ add1 more day and that would be =94 days for Manik)they have
crossed each other's path.
so taking a decision is one thing but implementing it throughout is another ball-
game, thinking about making a sacrifice is one thing but to bear the consequences of
that sacrifice is another,to try to bring two people together whose mere friendship
made you green with envy is one thing and to witness and feel another's presence at
something-more-than-friendship level is another, to ask someone to trust you always
is one thing but to think you can bear and afford to lose that very trust is
another, to ask someone to shine for you always is one thing and to see them shine
for someone else is another, to ask someone to always keep you in their prayers and
then have the heart to give that place to someone else is another,to think that you
can live without Nandu is one thing but actually surviving without her is another
specially when you will see her daily, when she will always be in front of your eyes
but with someone else.
In the episode where they show the week that was, they had said that Manik trust
Nandu but when it comes to his friends he knows no mercy, not even with Nandu. He
hurt her but when he realises that, he will make it up to her. This was when Nandu
told Manik that she knows Kabir's secret. So that has been Manik's character till
now.This is all from Manik's POV. We yet have to see how Nandini behaves after she
deals with her pain. I am hoping that she will understand Manik's dilema eventually (not so soon) coz she had also said that if she can do anything to make Dhruv's life better she will not hesitate. That again will decide as to how Long Manik can control himself and stay away from her.
Now we have to see how Dhruv's character progresses and what revelations are made.
As a possibility has been expressed in another post, of Dhruv turning negative, it
must be related to all the unexplained things happening with Dhruv.(maybe alien
theory coming up).Had also read in an article that Utkarsh plays the parallel lead
and the antagonist. True or false dunno. maybe he could turn negative. But
considering the audience's response to Dhruv with so many people falling in love
with him, may be they will go a different way. Maybe Dhruv is the star that will bring the two lovers closer. (not making sense in this cas am I?). But he certainly has some relation to star or the symbol star. going off-track..so will stop here.
But Manik and Nandu, its just the beginning of their journey as lovers...far far far
away, to be the end. Guys Fireflies don't lie. They did not lie to her mother, nor
for her friend in Nandini's introductory scene.
P.S.:But one question what would we have done if we were in Manik's place, atleast
immediately or initially??
