BOF to Kaisi Ye Yaariaan- what American small screen failed turns out a success in Indian small screen!

The best selling Sojho Manga' (a comic sort of Magazine Art) series Hana Yori Dango' (Boys Over Flowers) incepted first by famous Japanese writer Yoko Kamio in October 1992 have been adapted all across the globe into several TV fiction dramas and feature films over the past two decades. However, it was the 2009 South Korean Drama version- the 5th TV adaptation of the series Boys Over Flowers' which shot it to worldwide fame. Until 2009, the series was a hit in some Asian countries like Japan, Taiwan and Indonesia but after South Korean adaptation, Boys Over Flowers kissed exponential commercial as well as critical success and went viral in most of the Asian countries, merrily expanding its influence over other countries such as USA, Singapore and Canada. Known as the most popular Korean wave across the world, Boys Over Flowers is a modern day Cindrella-tale that spins around Love, Friendship and Family.

The scripting of the drama is intriguing and thouroughly engaging. It is a heartwarming, light hearted entertainer that entails a tale of a friendship gang F4 (Flowers four) of four aristrocratic and sinfully handsome childhood-to-youth-buddies and how their lives are affected post a poor yet fiesty, head strong and kind hearted girl crosses their path to change them all. The youth based romantic comedy drama is set up against a backdrop of an Elite School where the poor girl has to struggle to hold onto her ground despite the torments plauged by the previleged rich brat students, pivotally, coming ahead from non other than the powerful clique F4. Soon after, the epitome of arrogance- leader of F4 interestingly falls head over heels for the poor girl for her fiestiness- following the typical opposites attract theory. Meanwhile, the lady realises a soft corner for the second male lead, who is kind, soft hearted and silent unlike his F4 mates; however, eventually ends up falling in love with the leader despite the fact his shrewd business women mother disapproves of it and tries to break them apart in every possible way. Then starts a extravagantly magnificent flow of the story that drives audiences over the edge with an intense blend of emotions emerging out of love, friendship and family relations.

Upon screening Boys Over Flowers garnered high viewership ratings and also created tremendous buzz online. The starcast of the series- Lee Min Ho, Ku Hye Sun, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum and Kim Joon become youth icons and shot to stardom overnight. Above all, the locations shot in the series turned to most sought after tourist places later on. Inspired by such historic, impactful success of the show, an American production house decided to adapt it into American small screens in 2013 with same name. Nontheless, the American series failed pathetically receiving bad reviews from audiences. Fans of Korean Boys Over Flowers even expressed their rage saying American version is worst insult ever could be to the original series. In American Boys Over Flowers, major blunders by the makers were unimpactful execution and casting actors of unsuitable age, which led the story to miss its youthful charm and spark in romance.

Now in 2014, exactly a year after American series' failure, Indian TV's leading youth based music channel MTV have adapted the Korean show. Kaisi Ye Yaariaan repeats the same script of Boys Over Flowers with slight apt modifications to fit in with Indian audiences. The recently launched show have completed 50 successful episodes with its popularity going upwards by the day. Kaisi Ye Yaariaan is in process to come at the top of the list of running youth based shows in India, audiences have appreciated its script and execution. The show though neither as extravagant nor impactful as Korean one still have struck an influential chord amidst youngsters over here. It gives fans a much needed break from main stream love stories that are trapped between over-the-top saas bahu stuffs, for a change, providing a refreshing feel.

Kaisi Ye Yaariaan is charming, entertaining and engaging. Male lead Parth Samthaan's performance is remarkable while parallel lead and antagonist Utkarsh Gupta justifies his part well. Lead actress Niti Taylor also is good and the supporting cast have backed up the storyline really good. On technical execution, sequences are properly managed and every character, main or supporting, have got thorough significant plots. We can say parallel plots are as lovely as the leads' affair is. Besides, emotions are gelled praiseworthily. The F4s replica musical band Fab 5 at S.P.A.C.E academy is mysterious enough to keep going the interest. Overall the show makes a not-to-miss-out appearance onscreen. We wish the show to raise bars to achieve success as much as of the Korean version of it.

Stay tuned and let's get bizzin!
