Part Two : Adhure (Last Part)

[A/N : please play the song "Adhure" from the movie Mary Kom]

She straightened herself as her name was called. It had been so long since she last sang, and now when she left the world of music behind her, it seemed so surreal to sing again. The face of certain someone trailed before her as though he was challenging her. She rose to her feet as her colleagues broke into applause encouraging her, she even heard few snide comments saying can scientists sing? You must be kidding!'

Nandini shut her eyes close and with determination climbed the stage. Infront, the huge crowd people stared back at her. Every second her mind and heart kept recalling one name, one face- Manik Malhotra!

It had been few weeks since she walked away from him. she wanted to pursue her dreams of becoming a scientist and he was reluctant to let her leave. He had strongly stated that her passion lies in music and not science, but nandini like always- Stubborn. Left with no choice, tired of all the fights, nandini walked away.

As the music rolled, Nandini took a deep breath,

Geela geela bas paani palkon pe reh gaya
Dhire dhire sapna wo aankhon se beh gaya
Thoda thoda kar yaadein saari kho rahiin
Toota sa pal ik haath mein reh gaya
Hum hain adhure, lamhein adhure
Sawaal adhure, jawaab adhure
Woh khwaab bhi adhoora reh gaya

Science made her curious, it was her dream, or was her father's? Sitting among the flood of big brains didn't create the tingling sensation that she found while singing.

Geela geela bas paani palkon pe reh gaya
Dhire dhire sapna wo aankhon se beh gaya
Thoda thoda kar yadein sari kho rahiin
Toota sa pal ik haath mein reh gaya

She felt empty.

He wasn't there to tell her whats right and whats wrong. He wasn't there to tell her, how stupid her decision was! He wasn't there to smile fondly and kiss her senseless.

She felt empty.

Tanhaai haathon me le waqt khada hai
Ye dil bhi seene me behosh pada hai
Aaj aake mausam saare humko satate hain
Bejaan hai hum haare aur ye rulaate hain
Har pal andhera reh gaya..

She yearned for his touch, his care, his musings and their countless banter. Sure, they did have differences, they fought, but at the end of the day, they were together- Inseparable. Then what made her leave him?

Neela neela bas dil ka zakhm wo reh gaya
Zara zara kar saara hausla beh gaya
Thoda thoda kar yaadein saari kho rahiin o..
Toota sa pal ik haath mein reh gaya

"I love you soo much Nandini moorthy!" he had once said kissing her bubbly nose. She had melted right away in his arms. Everytime they sang together, she felt they where flying and shining, just like her fireflies!

She missed him, she missed him so much! And she felt soo empty without him. without their gang- Fab5!

Hum hain adhoore, lamhein adhoore
Sawaal adhoore, jawaab adhoore
Wo khwab bhi adhoora reh gaya

She had become a scientist, a singer and a lover. Why did she leave him then? She had no answer. As she continued singing, she found a face in her heart that smiled at her, "My dear nandu, you are the best partner I could ever have! Don't leave me please!" he had said when she was asleep. She never told him she had heard it. She smiled to herself, and that's exactly when then it hit her hard. She loved him, truly madly and she couldn't live without him!

As the music came to an end, she knew what she had to do! How foolish could she be? This wasn't what she wanted, atleast not any more. Its him, his love and music!

Manik dawdled in his house and sulked. He missed her so much. He didn't know whether he was at fault for letting her go! He just wanted her happy. But it was now killing him. how he wished to see her, touch her, kiss her..

His house felt so empty without her and he had no desire living here anymore! A thought crossed his mind, may be, just may be he could see her, in their house. A small beach house they had bought after Nandini moved in with him. He hadn't gone back since nandini walked away. May be, she could have come back? He thought warily.

And the next thing he knew he was driving towards their little home.

"But you could do so much here! I mean, you have that.." Professor struggled for words to convince his best student. Nandini smiled, "Passion? Sorry sir. My passion lies in music!" she smiled at him. he shook his head in despair, "but.."

"I have to go, like very soon! Like right now! So BYE!" she sauntered away all the way smiling at her sillyness. For some reason she knew, he would be there, like always waiting for her, in their little home.

I dont know how far i have justified the story, i am facing writers block so this is the outcome! hope u understand. i have no ideas of another part to this, so yep this is the end!

Ending in a happy note like always. its better closure for what i had in mind!
