@Doc, big hug for this🤗 . You caught them so well.
Bullying is bad but ragging in India is not an alien concept Unfortunately, seemingly good guys get carried away in the name of fun and this is what fab5 as a unit has been doing for years, it's been their kick or perhaps they did it to create that aura .But a lot of the blame goes to the crowd around them too, they seem to enjoy these acts and in a way encourage fab5. This series is the quest of these five individuals to mature.
These are 5 lost young teens who probably at 19-20 are going through new life experiences which are shaking their inner core and defense mechanism.
Manik is fascinating because well he is not your bad guy , he is a good guy to the people who he lets in .He is like a lot of us , who are different person to the outer world than what they seem to be with friends/family. His care, love and trust is exclusive. Yet there is a good side too which slips randomly like when he helped a total stranger's fireflies or the other day a student with guitar lessons.
Nandu is not changing him, she is rather becoming his person too. But she is helping him mature and realize that life is moving on and with that he has to progress too for a better understanding of emotions and experiences.
Cabir
He is such a brilliant character. The fight , fear and the coming out was so impressive. When he spoke about social stigma , I went back to why he preferred being behind cameras- was it his way of flipping to the world, who shunned his sexuality? His onwards journey will be very interesting to watch and the realization of it all will mature him.
Mukti
She is the vulnerable one. The girl is like Lady Manik but she is beyond broken . She needs fab5 because they give her a purpose and home. The meds and addiction is scary, to think the girl who creates terror and fear in others , leads such a scary and vulnerable life? Probably why she takes to her image. Her path is to be the stronger , independent self. i don't want her to fall for a guy , nope , not unless she is strong as an individual
Dhruv
I am so conflicted. I do see the boy who goes through a rough disease and that makes his introvert behaviour understandable. But I am yet to be sold by his story. Probably the Rishab track because heartbreak is not an enough sequence to make me invest in him. He is young, going through an infatuation , so his pain though understandable doesn't seem life changing.
Alya
I think she lacks a purpose in life. That makes her so fixated on Manik because , she sees no future for herself but with him. She has no goal and this lack of self respect and vision makes her take to tricks to win him back. I feel she doesn't understand trust too, probably because she has never been the person who saw trust or what it means because even while Manik spelled it out what love means to him, i.e. Trust, she is playing with his bond with Dhruv , which again puts Manik's trust on her as a friend on the line.
Harshad
I feel he is self-centered , not a bad thing but I feel his desires and actions are very him oriented. Temper too. And right now rather than maturing and savouring friendship , since he seems to be lonely as well, he is using the people who trust him. This is his fall to abyss , if he doesn't mature and understand his actions.
Nandu
She is real. Not a dharna , slogan shouting , world changing girl. But she is someone who knows what this age and experiences mean to life . She has a good hold on emotions and herself. Her realness makes her perfect.
Navya
OTT, till the bubble simmers, I doubt I will ever know her.
