Ugh. Ridiculous how perfectly constructed the MaNan relationship is. They just make me giddy. It isn't the whole 'omg they be so cute!!' giddiness (which they are!) but the omg look at these well-etched, thought out characters and a romantic narrative that actually has depth and progression, what are these feeels. I never thought I'd be able to ship with no reservations on Indian television where conflict never moves forward from the male lead pushing the heroine around and love blossoms from a series of 15 minute long pointless 'eye-locks' until the two are forever in love. There is never an effort made in establishing the OTP of the show. We are supposed to take the relationship that should ideally be paid the most attention for granted. It's just stupid lazy writing. Here, Manik and Nandini's connection is being built from base and you can see the writers actually putting thought into their journey. In their dynamic at the start of the show, Nandini never made the effort to look beyond his monstrosities and Manik never had moments of doubt or concern regarding her. When it was ugly, it was ugly. There was no romanticizing. (which is a fatal flaw for me with this love/hate trope and almost always the reason I pull out from these ships). Their build-up has only taken a romantic turn after the locked room incident. Again, the follow up confirmed that the writers really know what they are doing with them. Since that 8 hours changed their dynamic, there has been no going back. Manik's denial is back in full swing but it is so transparent that I am not even sure how he believes it.😆 Nandini has started to look beyond his stupid ego and have her way with him but the growth is natural. He is still not easy around her, she still has reservations about him. After today's events, I am sure we'll see them both questioning his desperate concern for her and her unreserved trust in him. It is such stunning build-up. Baby steps one after the other.
Ohhh and also, going back to the beginning, my louv with them also stems from the fact that I love love love the fireflies metaphor. I have such a thing for ships with a shared experience that shapes them in different ways. That night made Manik envelop himself in darkness, while Nandu fought it and found light within.
Whaaat is this long, embarrassing word-vomit. I am sorry for being all over the place, I just have a lot of feelings about these two.😆
You give me such tumblr vibes 😆 I don't mean that in a bad way..but your terminology is sooo tumblr!
But word babe! Word to it all! The supposed OTP of the show is given the least amount of concentration. Eyelocks and extremely stupid misunderstandings are to be taken as hints of their meant-to-be-ness. You hardly get the connection of one individual to another on Indian telly. You hardly get people who you root for, despite knowing they be end game. Most reasons we ship them couples is because of their on--screen chemistry of the actors...the chemistry of characters is hardly given any attention.
there is a reason MaNan pulled me back to the zone of fangirling over Indian couple. It's this well thought of journey of these two. Nothing that has happened in the past seems irrelevant to what is happening in the future. Their today is not disconnected from their past. All their past encounters, knowing or unknowing, worked towards them coming to this point today where she asks about his bruise and he doesn't seem annoyed while offering her help. That is rare to get nowadays. Always special kudos to them seeming beautiful when all the ugliness is taken away from their relationship. It isnt excused, it isn't forgotten but thankfully, it's a bit of a history. My love for MaNan grew in the store room...when they first became of this proximity they shared. Where they were acutely aware of each other. They not only came close physically, but they shared a genuine heart-to-heart. Progress..both for on-screen and off-screen in terms of character.
Manik's denial have always been transparent and we just supposed to go with it...Mahaan Manik ka logic 🤣
Nandini tou is the girl who isn't acting tooo differently. Compassion is so seeped inside her that she can't help but care for her worst enemy. Like she offered him water after the canteen incident but he just threw it away. Today her concern was replied to in kind..but she didn't realize it much 😆 Clueless kids..they have such a long way to go!
Metaphors having couples are always special for me and theirs tou is so beautiful...! Fireflies..! Aaah..always love them! <3 So wonderfully thought of by the CVs..actually, every character in this show seems and act like there has been some ACTUAL thought put in their characterization which is not discontinued after the initial episodes are over. the characters are growing and changing and we can see that...kuch randomly constant nahin hai..
No..its not long but my reply is pakka weird...my eyes are really feeling heavy now and I suck at typing on the lappy...yeah..you pakka a tumblr waasi...heeeheeeheeehee
