I wrote a short story for you guys! Tell me how do u like it and give comments at then end. This is my first try for writing short story. So here goes…
The Strange Meeting
It is often strange that we people end up in some strange things that we never expected it to happen. It's irony that sometimes these strange meetings we experience in our life also change our life, our behaviour and everything. It's something we wished that we never have been that way or lived the life that way but instead they can turn the clock back.
Angad Khanna drove the car happily and excitedly because today was the day he has been waiting for since the last two years. The tears of happiness rolled down his cheek because finally he was going to meet the love of his life. The last two years had been very difficult and tough for him. They were going to meet at their favourite spot.
She sat on the rock facing towards the ocean surrounded by few rocks around her. She smiled sadly as she saw couple walking hands in hands and family of four playing valley ball in the beach. She can never be married or have kids, the long dreams she been having when she was a teenager are now vanishing because she doesn't have enough life to live anymore. She was happy because she was going to die in his arms, the man she loved and will continue rest of her life. She can't hate him after what he has done to her because she knew somewhere in her heart he did not do it or someone was trying to frame him. If he did it, it's not him, someone must be forcing him.
Angad insulted Kripa on the day when they both graduated from university to proceed towards their new life. Angad was blackmailed by someone else, someone who used Angad as their paw to separate those two. It hurted him, ached him when he came to know that the proof that he was shown were fake. He cried to himself why he did not trust her? He tried to find her but failed.
As Angad walked to the beach, he was taken back into the young days he had spent with her. The natural strawberry scent of her was all around him, he could sense kripa there. As he walked further he spotted the similar looking girl with his back to him. His heart started beating faster as he walked towards her; there were sudden rushes of excitement and happiness in him.
She sensed someone around her, watching her. She slowly turned around him and faced him. She was sure she heard a gasp from him.
He was taken back by her beauty, how much she has changed. She was looking extra beautiful as she was wearing long white flowing dress. With her long brown hair down up to her shoulders, she looked like an Angel to him. Their gaze was locked as soon they faced each other.
"Kripa" Angad murmured as he went more close to her.
'Angad' she replied in the same tone
She was shocked when she saw Angad fall onto his knees, holding her hand and letting her fall on top of him. She was even more shocked when she saw tears coming from his eyes. He had not planned to cry in front of her, or let the emotion slip easily out him. He did not want to give her any more pain but he felt weakened.
She cupped him face into her palms, "What happened Angad? Do I look right" She asked, trying to making the atmosphere calm and friendly around them.
He studied her face realized she has gone bit pale than she was before, but she still looked simple, pure as dove. "No, you look beautiful" he replied from his heart.
'Kripa, I am sorry. Please ask for anything you want, give me any punishment but please do not leave me again he begged.
She smiled sadly knowing she can't be with him for ever. "Angad I have loved you always and will love till the end of my love. You know that I can't hate you for long, don't you' she smiled pleasantly.
He could not help but smile back. He wondered how could she still not hate him after what she has done to him yet she managed to say she love him. It was not enough for him; he wanted to go through the same pain, emotions she went through.
"If you love me, then can I ask you for something?"
She nodded.
"Marry me, All these years I have been through a lot and I can't face any more pain, it's just enough for me. I want you to look after me, I want to wake every morning see you first. I want you to be mine. Will you marry me' he proposed
She had tears in her eyes. This is what she wanted before she goes, before she leaves him. Then suddenly she does not want him to go through any pain. She realized she doesn't have enough energy to tell him.
'Angad, I wish I can say yes and be yours forever but I can't' she replied.
'Why?' he asked
'Because I can't be with you forever, I can't promise that I will be there for you in each and every step of your life.'
'I don't understand' he muttered confused.
'Angad I love you but I can' be with you or marry you. Please forgive me and move on with your life'
Anger leashed inside him as she said 'move on with your life', if he wanted to move on he could be somewhere in the world doing something else and living happily. He has waited two years for her and suddenly she turned away!
'What do you want, how much punishment are you going to give me? Isn't it enough that I had in the last two years? He yelled at her.
'I can't tell you' she replied calmly. She was taken back by his sudden anger but then again she knew what he must be going through.
'Why?' he insisted
'Because I am ill' she replied, after a long pause, she continued 'I have leukaemia.'
He was shocked, traumatized, tears running down his cheeks. He hugged her tightly. Her words 'I have leukaemia' kept ringing into his ears again and again.
They both hugged each other and cried for a long time. He was angry at everyone, why would he suffer after all he has not committed any crime or falling in love was a crime he committed? He realized she was thin as pencil as his strong muscular arms go around her easily.
Her vision starts to get blurry around her. 'oh no, not now' she thought. She prayed silently she need more time, she just wanted to say something to him, say the most important thing that she wanted him to know.
'Angad' she whispered
They both broke apart. He noticed her face has gone as pale as moon. Suddenly he had the urge to fight for her from the world even from the God. Why should they suffer There are other people who has killed people but they has not done anything! She smiled weakly as Angad studied her.
He picked her up in his arms continued walking in the beach, not breaking away a single glance from her.
'Where are we going?' she asked
'To cure you, to the hospital' he smiled.
Again her vision starts to get blurry, tears rolled again on her cheeks but she smiled weakly. 'Angad I want something you to know, I don't have enough time' she continued to speak with all the energy she has left. 'I loved you always and I didn't mind anything you said to me that day because I know it was not you who was speaking and I will continue to love you forever. Will you do something for me?'
He was crying, how could God be so cruel on them? 'Anything' he cried
'Live your life happily and I will always be there watching you' she said, smiling.
How could she be so calm at this moment? He wanted to cry, he wanted to do something for her. 'N…' He was going to say, 'No. you will be alright 'but as soon he met her eyes, it was closed.
She died happily in his arms as she wanted. He looked at her; it seems that the entire burden on her shoulders has been lifted. She lay their simply pure as angel on the arms of her love sleeping peacefully. He kissed her eyes and walked away in the beach with her.
After 5 years:
He strolled down the beach, the same beach where she died, the same beach where they had spent moments together. He still can remember each and every word of her in their last meeting. He smiled sadly thinking, how strange, what he had expected to do, what he dreamt of before he was going to meet, all shattered into pieces. And now he is a famous writer as she said live happily and he did but he never married anyone because he knows she is watching him everywhere. He smiled and whispered 'I Love you too Kripa'.
