She's been around for quite long now. And she's been consistent in her good work. She's been there. Seen it all. And, it seems, done it all. Good looking, extremely talented she's proved herself every time and breathed life into every character she's done. We are talking of Sonia Kapoor whom you see in Remix on Star One, Piya Ka Ghar on Zee and Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai on Sony. Kapoor is now eagerly looking forward to Gautam Adhikari's thriller Krishna Global Bureau where she is paired alongside Ashutosh Rana.
''Work is going just fine. I have played different characters and am really enjoying my work. And that's what matters I guess,'' says Sonia flashing a smile. If you thought she is busy and has no time for anything else you are wrong. Meaning she is busy with television but she also took up a play with Paritosh Painter, just recently, called Yeh Tera Ghar Yeh Mera Ghar. ''It's a comedy and it's my first play. So I am loving the experience. It's great fun,'' says she. Being her first play was she nervous? ''Aah... not really. We did rehearse for a long time; for two minutes before going on stage, I did have butterflies in my stomach. After that I was at ease and very confident. And the audience response is so encouraging,'' she replies. &nbs p;
Coming back to television and the Star One show, Remix. She plays the very strong-headed Sonia Ray. ''It's a very unusual and interesting character,'' reveals then actress. In Piya Ka Ghar she is Sweta who falls in love with Rimjhim's husband when he's lost his memory. ''After he returns to Rimjhim, Sweta is on a revenge trip and is ready to go to any lengths to get him back.''
Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai sees the young actress as Naina Bajaj - a woman of substance. ''It's an interesting role. Emotional. Sweet and simple,'' Sonia says. With this role, she is back in the Balaji camp after three or four years. Earlier, she played Naina (yes, coincidence you may call it) in Kkusum too. ''It's nice working with them again. Earlier, we did speak of some other shows but the dates didn't work out. This time things fell in place,'' adds Sonia who's quite thrilled about Krishna Global Bureau. In that show, she plays a cop - a poison expert. ''Like someone is an expert in software, someone in sketching, I am a poison expert. It's going to be good fun. Also it's something that I haven't done before,'' she concludes.
