Kunal and Emraan in 'Friends'

Kunal and Emraan have just worked together for Vishesh's Films 'Kalyug' and the production house is all set to pair them together again.

Right now actor Kunal Khemmu is basking at the response his debut film 'Kalyug' has got in the box office. "I have been told that it is the only film that has managed to maintain its hold at the box-office among the three films released," he says. He considers himself very lucky that the film has met with a positive response.

'Kalyug' really seems to be working wonders for his career. Kunal currently has been offered lots of films from the Bollywood film makers. However he is very diplomatic and choosy about the films that he wants to opt. He had confirmed that he is working again with the Vishesh Films banner. He and Emraan Hashmi, another favourite of the Bhatt camp, will get together again for 'Friends' to be directed by Mohit Suri. The film is about two friends. Further details on the same has not been divulged yet.

Kunal does want to try films under other banners but the script and the role should be convincing for him to sign in.

Putting to rest all talk about friction during the making of Kalyug, Emran Hashmi and the Bhatt camp's new blue-eyed boy, Kunal Khemu, are coming together for Kalyug director Mohit Suri's film on male-bonding, to be called Friends.

Bearing no relation to the popular TV series by the same name, Suri's Friends will take the Kalyug companions away from Zurich, to London.

Runaway pals

Says Suri, "It's the story of two runaway friends, set against the backdrop of the London-tube bombings, to be shot entirely in London."

The director says he has no plans to cash on the current Bollywood trend of buddy-buddy films.

"I'm trying to get my dream project, Awaarapan, in place," he says. "If Emran Hashmi (who is likely to play Mahesh Bhatt in the film) can't give dates, I'll make Friends first."

No enmity?

Weren't Hashmi and Khemu at loggerheads during the making of Kalyug? During the climax, when Khemu found out Hashmi would get to kill Ashutosh Rana, he put his foot down; Hashmi had to relent and let his junior do the honours. Also, Khemu accused him of hogging the limelight.

But Khemu denies having differences with Hashmi. "Emran and I get along like a house on fire. I never accused him of cornering all the publicity," he claims.
