Neha Bamb (Kripa of Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai) started out with a Telugu film

I got an ATKT (allowed to keep term) in Math, when I was in class eleven. My father reprimanded me for my results and dismissed me as being good for nothing. All my cousins are highly educated with MBA's and CA's to their credit. At that moment, I was so hurt that I decided to do something worthwhile in life.
I started doing ramp shows with Nisha Sagar (Ramanand Sagar's daughter-in-law). After which I got several ad films like TVS Scooty and TVS Bajaj. Eventually film producers started contacting me. I was offered a Telugu film which was to be shot in Hyderabad. I was so nave at that time that I thought I would be required to travel to Hyderabad for the shoot everyday. Nevertheless, I signed the film and got my first cheque. The first person I flouted my cheque to was my dad.
He was furious and took me back to the producer to return the money. But the producer and his wife convinced my father otherwise. He assured my father that my role was good and would not need any vulgar display. So this was my first break – a Telugu film Dil.
There has been no looking back ever since. I was flooded by offers from the south Indian film industry. My father didn't seem to mind because I was balancing my academics rather well. However there was a condition which he imposed – I should be able to watch a film I star in with him. In more ways than one, this condition has helped keep me on the right track and not get carried away.
