The Fourth Indian Telly Awards comprise of more than 93 award categories, of which some 45 will be given away on the popular awards night. The Popular Awards Gala is planned as a night of entertainment and celebration where all the stars of Indian television will felicitate and be there for each other. The theme of the Nite is Gen NXT. A night of song, dance, unity, applause, and what have you. Catch them as they laugh, as they cry, and they jump for joy when they are handed over the golden Indian Telly statuette! In their fourth year now, the Indian Telly Awards 2004 will be given away in a star-studded ceremony on 19 November 2004. The theme for the show is Generation NXT – Saluting the Future of Television! And keeping in line with the theme, the biggest and brightest young faces on Television are going to perform – most of them for the first time ever! The performers include leading TV Stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Aamna Shariff, Shama Sikander, Gurdeep Kohli, Aashka, Amit Sareen, Ejaz Khan, Karishma Tanna, among others. Among the highlights of the show is a power packed performance by divas Sophie and Sunidhi Chauhan. Over the last few years, the Awards have been attended by the leading lights of the television and entertainment business. The Indian Telly Awards show has had included performances by Diya Mirza, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Sukhbir, Ishaa Koppikar, Perizaad Zorabian and Gracy Singh among others. The Indian Telly Awards launched in 2001 were envisioned by Anil Wanvari as a way to reward, laud and felicitate professionals behind the scenes of the Indian Television business and recognize excellence in television. At that time, the Indian television industry really had no awards dedicated to recognizing the skills and talents in the business, be it behind the scenes or on camera. Other television awards were a sub-component of a main film awards function where the focus was really on Bollywood. As the first ever awards set up exclusively for the Indian Television industry, the Indian Telly Awards have been the pioneers in rewarding professionals who have excelled in the field of Television – be it on screen or behind the scenes!
