My thoughts:
Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai is a soap that caters to the young crowd. I have seen the most popular fans are college-going kids and the most important ones are the teenagers. The reason-it's a passionate dreamy love story of the bad boy meeting the innocent girl and how their love blossomed in spite of all adversities. It has a very classic touch to it.
It has a huge female audience, as the male teenage bacchas are more interested in watching cricket or playing basketball or video games.
The female fan following is not only because Angad is hot but also because many young girls can identify themselves with Kripa and the actress Neha.
This is sometimes misinterpretd by the press and they think they should focus more on Iqbal then on Neha so that their interviews are read.
But, but , but they should start writing about Neha too so that female fans of KYPH can identify with it.
About the TRPs going down when Kripa came up as a rockstar, there were many reasons associated with it.
1. The storyline did not give her rockstar status and did not do more concerts with her. It was more focused on who Kripa should settle with then on her music.
2. Chipkoo was always with Kripa and we could see less A_K scenes
3. Angad was crying most of the time. We might love the bad boy Angad and adore the mango days but crying Angad- a big NO NO.
So the above three reasons combined would cause the TRPs to go down.
About the TRPs going up now, Kripa has equal contribution as Zaib . Zaib me be the rockstar with attitude, but Kripa too is a snow princess with loads of attitude too.
