Why do you like about Iqbal?

Hi guys,

Watching KYPH last night, I realized that the reason we all go ga-ga over IQ- the actor is not just his M&B good looks ( sorry, me not the swooning and drooling type).....but his ability to do his role with unbelievable conviction. When he is in the garb of Angad....he becomes Angad, you don't see a sign of the original simple Iqbal. Yesterday, when he donned the robe of Zeb...he became Zeb.It's as if he just merges himself completely with the character that he is playing. People get under the skin of a character, and actors like IQ get under the epithelial cells as well.I definitely admire his spontaneous talent and depth as an actor.

So, mention three things you like about IQ-the actor.

Here are mine:

1. IQ's limpid brandy pools.His eyes have a lot of intensity and depth, in fact i'd rather say he gathers his soul into his eyes and that lends a touch of reality to his performances. His voice of course only cements his powermatic personality.

2.Magnetic screen presence. Everything dissolves around him.

3.IQ gets under the skin..ummmmmm..no, the epithelial cells of the character.

No credit to him for his chemistry with the leading lady, as that's natural bio-chemistry.No credit to Neha either.All credit to Ekta Maayee.

YEP DI TOTALLY agree with u 100% ...thats he does a superb job wiht his charecters and this i think furture attracts viewers to watch the serial cause of gr8 acting skills....

Iqbal has definately been blessed with great genes, but the reason I like Iqbal is because of the way he portrays the character of Angad! I guess the whole bad boys theory really works on girls, especially ones in their teens like me! Whether it's Angad, Sujal or Pratham...Bad boys definately have a certain appeal!

And expressive eyes are also very important, like you said! The ways he looks at Kripa, with his 'you are mine' look makes you melt! 😳 OK I should stop now, my list is too long! 😆

i'm finding it difficult to pinpoint how iqbal manages to portray full conviction in his role as angad. can i let his scenes do the talking instead? 😆 i remember
- his cocky expression when he first goes to introduce himself to kripa, and that lift of the arrogant eyebrow when she refuses to shake his hand!
- his expressions and his body langauge in every single frame of the lipstick-on-her-forehead episode, and the drunk conversation he has with his self after. the way he left mishty at the disco with her friends. the way he taunted prithvi. the way he looked lost when kripa yells at him to let go of prithvi. the way he knocked at her door to be let in. yes, every single frame! 😆
- the way he cries and tells naina that everything is over after his child died.
- the way his face fell and his eyes closed in the scene when kripa says that it was not his child, but her child (when josh sets up for him to talk to kripa after kripa's concert with josh).
- the way he maniacally laughs and tells naina that everything is over after the court case "everything is finished. _i'm_ finished!"

'nuff said? he always seems to use everysingle aspect of his body to sell us angad and his story. i can't articulate better than iqbal's acting does! maybe one can ask goddess tisha to write a poem about this, and she will get it? 😆 -esther

Hmm....yesterday was Neha, today Iqbal...giving each one their due praise, and rightly so.

Firstly let me say that I'm the swooning type (for some people) 😳 , though not the drooling type. 😆

What do I like about Iqbal, well I have to agree with all your points Nitica.

1) Iqbal is one of the few actors around today who can emote without saying a word....every emotion that his character is feeling you see reflected in his eyes.

2) I remember once reading something that Anne Rice said about Tom Cruise with regards to Interview with a Vampire, it went something like this:"I was reluctant to give Tom the role, because I thought I would watch the movie and see just that...Tom Cruise, what I did land up seeing was Lestat himself.Tom was nowhere to be seen" (not the exact words)....Iqbal is the same....when you see him you don't see Iqbal, all you see is Angad (that might also be his downfall as he might not be able to step out of Angad's shadows.....sorry, staying off topic here)

3) I have to say his voice.....and looks do play a part in the the whole appeal, you can't discount that. The man has the rich baritone that can be gentle and tender when needed, powerful, arrogant and angry when required, that along with his facial expressions when delivering said dialougues, make you believe that that is really what he is feeling. You don't roll your eyes and say "ya,right"...you actually cringe when he yells, you laugh and blush when he is tender.

o.k, I think enough said. 😳
