Chaitanya Chaudhary is a huge hit with female audiences as Akshat Shergill in Balaji's Kahin To Hoga. The production house has decided to make the most of this popularity and introduce him on another Balaji show, Kkavyanjali.
Chaitanya is scheduled to make his entry next week.: "We wanted an actor who has a strong screen presence and can look convincing as Amrita Singh's son,"says Nivedita Basu, the deputy creative director of Balaji. The time has also come to shake up the storyline of the serial a bit. So, Chaitanya will play Nitya's (Amrita's) other son and introduce the mystery element regarding her past.
Obviously, Chaitanya is looking forward to this new development in his career. Is he nervous about facing the camera with a legendary actress like Amrita? "I've met her on some occasions and she came across as a very warm person. But this will be the first time that I'll work with her. I'm not nervous; I'm just looking forward to being part of a great show like Kkavyanjali."
Chaitanya is also working on his look for the new character. "I'm told that it should be a rock star kind of a look. It will be different from what people have seen of me in my other shows," he says.
Speaking of his other shows, what happened to his brief appearance on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi? "I was really excited at being part of such a big show. But I think my character was not going anywhere. It's still very much there (hasn't been knocked off) but is on hold. I hope that they succeed in developing it," he clarifies.
