Ekta Kapoor's career as a film producer is about to take an upswing. Ever since she brought in her uncle Ramesh Sippy to supervise her films division, things have been moving at a super pace on the movie front.
The TV-friendly company Balaji Telefilms has now bifurcated into a more film-friendly Balaji Motion Pictures Ltd to avoid confusion between Ekta's television and film-production branches .
After tying up with Sanjay Gupta for Shootout at Lokhandwala, Ekta Kapoor is going into another major movie merger with Sunil Shetty's Popcorn Entertainment. Confirming these developments Sunil Shetty said, "Ekta's Balaji and my Popcorn Entertainment have been in talks for a while.

When I heard the script of Apoorva Lakhia's next film I knew this was the right moment to concretise our collaboration. Hopefully, Ekta and I will be looking at many more collaborations."
Sunil has three productions lined up for the next one year. "The first will be a gritty realistic film directed by Joy Augustine, then there's Vikram Singh's Raaste with Abhishek, John, Aishwarya and Sikandar, followed by Apoorva's film."
