So, finally we were thoroughly 'entertained' (and bored too- actually more bored than entertained) by the third SPA. A lot of disappointments cropped up for us.. the KTH fans as our efforts could not shatter the Balaji Monopoly in this award function (for those who voted according to Bhaskar's voting list). Shilpa (Ganga from KSBKBT) looked every single bit like a tramp and she even admitted it when she came on stage to receive her award: 'Ekta kahi gi… ki Ganga ye kaisa roop dharan kar ki aaee ho?' (hahaha… very funny) And poor Urvarshi… (Komolika & Archie from KZK & KTH respectively) she won the award for the favorite saut as long as she was the thorn in Prerna's life (both in 2003- 2004) mainly due to the heavy damage done there… but well, Kashish's saut turned out to be a failure- poor Urvarshi… my deepest sympathies- Archie never was her kind of role (i.e. it fluctuated constantly on and off our TV screens, she just popped up out of nowhere when the creatives had nothing on their hands disappeared with no major damage done) Shabbir (Rishi) succeeded in getting an award, and so did Chaityna (Akshat) for Yogya Damad, in my opinion he also should have been given the award for the favorite Dewar (saga or sautela… he sure is a great guy, and loads better then Kamal of KGGK, who got the award)…. Aamna…. Well… kiya kahon? (She's a great lady, I'm a fan..) But her outfit and makeup were just in 'Lal Dupatta', the outfit was cheap and the makeup a bit too loud.. she had been given a more sensible outfit last year in 'Suraj hua Madham' (with Rajeev) but well this year… no comments… but her dress (the black one) that she's worn to the party and her look and stuff was rocking… The only positive that turned out was that the Gurpreet guy was nowhere in sight… (nowhere Aamna and the KTH cast).. Rajeev had said that Aamna would be sitting next to Gurpreet but well… don't know what happened to him (maybe he had to go for a resculpting of his head this time) we saw Rohit (Piyush) sitting next to her… good for Aamna… Poonam (Mehak) too got an award and I sure am glad for the girl she really acts very well (especially in the roney dhoney waley scenes) but it certainly looks as if she puts in a lot of effort in her acting and it paid off. Good for her. Aamna… she was nominated for three categories… and guess what… award konsa mila? Patni… Patni…. Kashish?? Ahem ahem… us sey ziyaada nuksaan kisii ney apney pati ko nahii puhchaya… karwa chaut par uski barbadi ki dua… attempt to murder… aur ye hai aapki favorite patni!! (Okay… I'm being a bit too hard on the girl she was mislead and made up for all that she had done… so all is well that ends well)
But coming back to ground zero… and allow me to quote Ajay (Rahul from Miilee): 'is parivaar main Ekta hi Ekta hai'… God!!! I was furious… I had prayed like hell ki ye award function Ekta key liye disappointment ho… but it turned the other way round with Sameer Nair (the COO of Star Plus) actually giving the credit for Star's success to Ekta… (God that sure is one lucky lady… otherwise as Bhaskar rightly said that someone with such sick thoughts does not deserve to be on such a high social status… the *****!!
Shabbir's (Rishi's) performance with Reva (Damini from KSBKBT) is not something to write home about really… but well… swallowed that too…
The Khichdi comparing was also boring… it was humorous to start with… but not something one can put up with for 3 - 4 hours… Aman Varma's a much better compare… wonder what happened to him….
Ejaz (Kkvya) and Natasha (Anjali) well… Ejaz once again lived up to our expectation and gave a mind blowing performance… there is no one in the whole TV industry who can dance better than this guy…
Hussain (Sumeet) and Juhi (Kumkum) also did a fairly good job… but the dance that impressed me the most was that of Shewta Tiwari (Prerna) on Kisna… it was a real classic and a treat to watch with loads of decency in it too. Performances ki jab baat aati hai to well… Varun Badola and Sangeeta Ghosh really bored me… not coz they danced on old hits but coz I was sick of seeing their faces over and over again…
Hiten… Gauri… (Karan & Nandani)… well they sure aren't a sporty couple.. for all those who failed to notice.. you should have seen the looks on their faces when either of them were nominated for a category and did not win… surely they could have been more sporting… at least camera key liye?… come on yaar! You've got millions of people watching you on TV… ja kar apna thobra repair karo! (sorry all the Hiten Gauri fans but this true… yaqeen na aaey to watch a repeated telecast sometime) their dance too was a third class put up… didn't impress me one little bit… but they should thank their stars ki Rajeev opted out at this time from KTH… had he stayed on for a month more… Gauri… Hiten… jodi ka award to bhool hi jao… but Hiten tumahara betay ka award bhi bye bye ho jata…
God… I really missed Rajeev… had he been there it would have been a different ball game altogether… Favorite Pati, Beta, Bhai and Jodi (alongwith Aamna) he certainly would have bagged all these… I'll say this for the nth time… I really hate the creative team of KTH… Balaji (Ekta specifically… she could have changed the scenario had she wanted to…) and Star Plus… for doing what they did to Rajeev… Can't wait for Time Bomb to launch hope it gets the 11:00 p.m. IST slot… then bye bye KTH… (that would be sad but serves Ekta and her creatives right)
