-- Begins --
1) Sujal drags Kashish to the door outside Gayatri's room.
2) Sujal then says to Kashish that he loves her and he did everything because he loves her.
3) Gayatri then opens the door, and Kashish looks like a guilty hag.
4) Sujal then says he said that to Kashish, because he knew that by saying that Gayatri would open the door.
5) Sujal then gives her a ring and asks her to decide whether she (Gayatri) wants to be with Sujal.
6) Then, after thinking, Gayatri calls Sujal and says she is ready to marry him.
7) At this point, Sujal says he changed his plans and doesn't want her.
8) Later, Kashish comes home to see that Sujal, his mother, and others are with Gayatri and Sujal's mother says that she asked her son to pretend not interested, as she wanted him to put the ring (back) on Gayatri's hand in front of everyone...
Blah blah blah...

OK. I don't live in India, but are hallucinatory drugs legal in India? And more importantly, is Ekta Kapoor (and her writers etc.) on drugs?
Trying to answer the question myself, I think the answer should be a resounding "YES."
It doesn't make sense any other way round.
