Gurpreet Singh collapses on the sets after working round the clock

Television soaps demand a painstaking number of work hours from actors, often leaving them overworked and exhausted. Overworking took its toll on Gurpreet Singh aka Sujal of Kahiin To Hoga recently. He has been hospitalised.

Apparently, Gurpreet has been working non-stop ever since he started playing Sujal in Kahiin To Hoga. He was severely criticised for being a non-actor and in order to prove his detractors wrong, he began working harder on the show. To top it all, last week, the unit of Kahiin… was asked to work overtime to meet deadlines. In the midst of a crucial scene, Gurpreet began vomitting and collapsed.

Fiancee Kanishka says, "I was shooting in Hyderabad when I got a call informing me about Gurpreet's condition and I rushed to Mumbai."

Talking about Gurpreet's ill-health, she says, "He had been feeling uneasy for the past few days. Today, the doctors told me that he has a bad throat infection. He is unable to ingest food or water. We have been asked to wait until tomorrow. If his condition does not improve, they will have to operate on him."

Because of throat infection, the actor could not talk properly. All he managed to say was, "I'm fine, and will recover soon. I've been asked to take rest now."

As for Gurpreet's shooting schedules, Kanishka says, "Ekta has been extremely kind. Gurpreet has been asked to take complete bed rest for the next ten days, so a different track will be introduced to tide over his absence
