Acting wise atleast. As a child actor, Chetan had portrayed the role of junior Balram in BR Chopra's Mahabharat. And now, after years, he is again going to be part of Mahabharat, this time as Bheem in Ekta Kapoor's magnum opus. But naturally, he's quite excited about the prospect. "The earlier Mahabharat was the last project I had done as a child actor. I was around 15 then and took a long break from work after that. I think it's super to be a part of Mahabharat once more," he says.
Chetan's only too aware that there will be comparisons made between the two shows. "Comparisons are bound to happen, but I think that's good. Technically, this Mahabharat will be much better. As for story-telling, well, Mahabharat is Mahabharat," he says.
The actor will start shooting for the show sometime in June. Till then, he's going to be training under a personal trainer and has been put on a strict diet as he needs to put on weight for the role. "Six-pack abs are necessary for the role. Ekta wants me to look really muscular. She's getting special stunt guys who're going to teach me action sequences," he elaborates on the requirements.
At the moment, Chetan is not looking at doing anything else on television. "There's nothing exciting happening. And I am getting to work on my look in the spare time. I've also starting learning jazz and will soon learn salsa. Basically, I've got time to do things I haven't done before," he says. The not-so-good reviews of his film Bhram did disappoint him, but he's not dwelling too much on it. "I was disappointed but these things happen. I've no issues," he says. Chetan adds, "I've been in this industry for a long time now. I've been frustrated at times because of no work and there are times I've got really good work. I'm fine where I am now. Let's see what happens in the future. One thing I'm sure of I will be acting till the day I die
