It was a classic case of working hard and partying harder. Ekta Kapoor's first television awards were held last night at a suburban sports complex after which stars from the small screen headed to a seaside lounge at Juhu. Famous for throwing the most talked about parties, Ekta's bash last night lacked the usual star attendance. Conspicuous by their absence was Sakshi Tanwar, Smriti Irani (who danced on-stage with Shah Rukh Khan at the award function), Aamna Sharif, Akashdeep Sehgal, Cezanne Khan and Shweta Tiwari.

Ekta seemed quite pleased with the success of her award function. She was dressed in a traditional ghagra choli and was wishing Jai Mata Di to all the guests. Although Ekta was initially dancing, she quietly moved away as soon as she spotted media persons. Ekta's foe-turned-friend Sandiip Sikcand could not stop himself from praising Ekta. He kept telling everybody, 'Ekta is a darling you know!' Sandiip kept himself busy with Karan Mehra and Yuvraj Singh. Mita Vashisht looked dazzling in a pink outfit.

Balaji Telefilms' creative head Nivedita Basu came in with husband, Yadu. Deepak Qazir (Babuji of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii) was seen sporting a red hat and kept vying for female attention! Gouri Tonnk kept a vigilant eye on her husband Yash throughout the party. The two girls of Amber Dhara took their on-screen role a bit too far by sticking together like they do in the show.

Most of the stars preferred to stay away from the dance floor and interact with their co-actors instead. Naman Shaw was uncharacteristically low on energy. Does it have anything do with the four Balaji shows that he is acting in simultaneously? Prachi Desai deserves a makeover award for her sexy new look.

Ronit Roy and his wife Neelam

Eijaz Khan came in with Anita Hassanandani. Brothers Ronit and Rohit Roy preferred to hangout with their respective wives, Neelam and Mansi.

While Ram Kapoor didn't dance, his gorgeous wife Gautami more than made up for his absence on the dance floor. Rakhi Sawant and her boyfriend Abhishek were busy showing their Nach Baliye steps until Rakhi lost her purse as well as her cool!

Aww...that's sad! 😭 😭 😭 ...well, either Sakshi was a 'lil held up, or probably she was flying home to see her parents, which she normally does after 20 days of shoot or perhaps she knew she would'nt be winning an award this year too.. ...Sakshi's been religiously attending all award fuctions & working so hard for Balaji over the years 👏 👏 👏 ...yet she's never received her due credit at award fuctions ...she's bound to feel sad 😭 😭 😭...what's the point in staying back anyways? ...I was completely disappointed on her not winning the well-deserved 'Best Actress' award.. 😡 😭 ...but we'll always stand by you Sakshi 😳 ....You're the Best!! 👏

i was so angry that she didnt get the best actress award...she is way better than prachi desai... but still we love u sakshi 👏

i cant belive Prachi won da best actress over sakshiii😕 dis is totally unfair?sakshi has been givng her 100% superb actng to balaji frm passed 7yrs where prachi joined dem like 1 yr back😕 nd she won dis global award😕

nd did u notice this yr i mean 2007 prachi has bagged all respective awards ..best telly actress...jhalak diklaja winner..nd now dis award 😕 i donno wat cookinggg 😕 😕

same happned in 2006...prachi won all da awards 😕

^ Yeah...that was during the post-event party, when SBS managed to get a glimpse of Sakshi.. 😳 😳 😳 ...I saw that on SBS too, n was Sakshi looking soooo gorgeous!! 😳 🤗 😍 ...Aww...Queen Sakshi is the Best! 👏

She probably didn't wrap up her shoot in time and since they know the winners beforehand, Ekta probably didn't give her the time off.

Same here😭. She's been rocking since 7 years👏 & Prachi 2 years. It was unfair for Saksi fans. I like Bani too😃. But prefer Sakshi😊.

who cares man..she didn't win de award neway...n tht doesn't come as a suprise because dese award shows r so damn biased..i'm actually glad she didn't go...n how da heck did prachi win??? how long has she been acting neway?? sakshi's wayyy betta...n de award dont deserve her.
