ok sorry for the huge delay all of you but i got really busy with my coursework deadlines and exams and stuff...but now that i'm free (only temporarily😆) i finished off a pending part..the chapter was supposed to be longer but i'll just have the next part in the next chapter...here you go..😳

Chapter 8

The countdown begins…

3:00

"Shivani, the appointment has been postponed, 5 o'clock hai appointment…ab mai free hoon, tumhe Mumbai mein kuch chahiye kya?"

"Nahi Raunak, woh…agar tum bahar jaa rahe ho, toh mamma ke liye ek acha sa gift khareedo na! Kuch hafte mein unka birthday hai na"

"Theek hai" He put the phone down and left the hotel room.

3:10

Maithili looked at her ringing phone absentmindedly… "Parvati mamma" flashed across the screen.

"Hello… … …theek hai mamma, I'll buy it for you… Tannu? She is coming too? Theek hai, I'll meet her in the mall…rakhti hoon…bye"

Life seemed to have become very mechanical for Maithili, sometimes very monotonous, nothing new was happening, she felt like she couldn't connect with anything or anyone except…

She smiled remembering the boyish ways of Tannu; Her flare for everything that was against the Agarwaal family traditions, her constant rude attitude towards everyone…well everyone apart from her, she didn't know why Tannu was so different to only her. Tannu was "miss attitude" in front of everyone else but to Maithili, she was chirpy and full of cheek. Closing her eyes she rested her head back on the car seat. Her head was aching and she badly needed to get some sleep.

"Bhaiya…mall chalo"

3:20

"Shivani, yaha kuch acha nahi hai! Kohinoor jewellery shop mein hoon"

3:30

"Driver bhaiya ek minute ruko…ha, wahi Kohinoor jewellery shop ke paas ruko, mein abhi aati hoon" saying so, Maithili got out of the car and headed towards the shop. "Tannu, I'm here, where are you?" Maithili spoke on her mobile while entering the shop.

3:40

"Shivani, there's nothing good here…wait I'm getting in the lift, signal thoda weak hai"

3:35

"Di, I'm on the second floor, lift se aajao…" Tannu spoke to Maithili on her mobile

Maithili pressed the lift button and turned to her side. Raunak walked in and stood next to her. Both faced opposite directions. Maithili's head slowly lifted up…she felt a familiar feeling, a familiar scent tingled her senses and awakened her every memory…of him. She didn't think twice before turning round…her head turned in time to see only a hand move past into the lift next to her. She moved back a little but the lift door closed before she could see anything.

3:40

She was about to press the lift button to open the door when somebody tapped her from behind

"Tannu?"

"ha! Main…itni chauk kyu gayi?"

Maithili shook her head and brushed off her thoughts… "chalo…"

3:50

"Maithili, I think we should buy gauri bhabi a bracelet, her and Ishaan's wedding anniversary is coming soon right…bracelets are upstairs, lets go there."

Maithili quietly followed Tannu into the lift and both went upstairs.

3:55

Raunak stared at the many diamond bracelets in front of him…everything about this shop from the minute he entered seemed very familiar. He squinted his eyes at the sight of a particular bracelet.

Flashes came to his mind and blurred pictures were coming into view…he could see himself and a girl…her face he couldn't make out…it was all blurred…he was holding her hand and placing that bracelet on her.

"kya kar rahe ho? I don't want that bracelet! It's too expensive!" the girl stated and he seemed to be amused by her comment.

His head started aching, his fingers pressed on his temple to focus his mind on these strange visions he had been having…

Passers by looked at him curiously…a caretaker brought him a glass of water to drink. Raunak drank the water and closed his eyes…he had to inform Shivani…these visions had to stop…

4:00

"Tannu! Select quickly! I don't have so much time!" Maithili spoke rolling her eyes at Tannu "Look we selected this one right! Then why are you looking at other ones as well?!" Her head was spinning, it felt as if an old, faded feeling had just awoken inside her and was pounding on the doors of her heart to be set free. She felt as if something long left behind had just caught up with her… She was going crazy! First of all listening to Tannu and now feeling as if something had returned to her…or someone. "Tannu! Please! Pick one quick!" she moaned and turned round

4:10

Raunak took out his phone and looked at it for a minute, no, calling Shivani was definitely a bad idea. She's already very troubled and I don't need to trouble her anymore! I'll just talk to the doctor from here, I don't need to tell her anything.

4:15

"Di…what's all that commotion about? Has somebody been injured? Why are people in a huddle there?" Tannu asked practically dragging Maithili to a corner in the jewellery shop

"Tannu! We're getting late! Enough now, lets just go"

Maithili stopped Tannu and both made their way outside.

4:20

He sat in his car and began driving to the Agarwaals office.

4:25

She got out of her car and headed into the Agarwaal building. Standing in the lift, she patiently waited as it carried her to her destination…Om Agarwaal's cabin…joy oh joy! She thought silently and slightly amused by herself for thinking of that…it didn't seemed like her…it seemed so much like him

4:50

He got out of his car and made his way into the office. Strange feelings opened up inside him, like a buried treasure chest finally finding the water surfaces…he felt as if something hidden was raising…he had been here…he knew he had but he just couldn't quite remind himself when. His pace slowed down as he made his way up the stairs…Mr. Om Agarwaal…the name on the nameplate in bold letters seemed very familiar…almost too familiar for his liking.

Clutching his file in his hand, he knocked on the door.

"Come in," a female voice spoke to him as he entered the cabin.

He saw a woman, of round about 25-26 searching through files on the desk. He could sense the frustration in her voice and in her features as she rummaged through the drawers upon not finding it. She stood with her hands on her hips and pushed her hair back. He watched her amused, as she still did not turn towards him

"Ahem" Raunak cleared his throat

"huh?…oh sorry!" she only just seemed to have noticed his presence and was turning round to face him, but a voice coming from the other side of the room stopped her midway

"Maithili beta…" Raunak saw an old man address her and he watched, as she turned round to face him.

"Ji Om papa.."

Papa! Ohhh so she was his daughter…Raunak thought to himself

"Beta, check in Shruti's office, it could be there."

"Ji.." Raunak watched the young lady walk out of the opposite exit, not even turning towards him. He then moved his gaze to the old man who had by now made eye contact with him and seemed to have frozen in his place

"Tum…" Om asks in a shocked tone

"Uh…me..?? Mr. Agarwaal, I'm Raunak Singhania, MD of Singhania and Sabarwaal Constructions pvt, limited…I had an appointment with you"

Om seemed immobile, he couldn't even open his mouth let alone speak. After what seemed like countless minutes of staring ahead, he finally uttered a word…

"Adi nahi.."

"huh?" Raunak questioned "Mr. Agarwaal, are you all right? I'm Raunak Singhania…not Adi…or whoever…I had an appointment with you…It's 5pm now.."

"Yes…have a seat please Mr. Singhania.." Om Agarwaal composed himself but still could not wipe out the look of uncertainty from his face

"Mr. Agarwaal, I have come here to discuss the state of debt our company is in, under you. I know I signed an agreement that I would pay back all the money by July 2008 but I really cannot do that…I just came here to request for more time…I will definitely have the money by this December…"

Whatever Raunak just said, passed through one ear and out the other for Om Agarwaal. He was still perplexed as to how this man sitting in front of him claimed to be Raunak Singhania…he certainly didn't seem like a fake and he knew this man could not be Adi…so the only thought in his mind at the moment was how God could make two identical people and give them two very different identities?

"So Mr. Agarwaal…can you postpone the date for me?"

"huh?" Om asked coming out of his daze… "Uh..i just need some time to look into this matter…I'll call you tonight and…we'll see.."

"Thankyou Mr. Agarwaal…I shall take your leave now…thanks once again"

As Raunak left the cabin, m immediately got on the phone to his assistant.

"Kartik, give me Singhania group of company's file…and find as much information about Raunak Singhania as possible…I want it all on my desk at 7pm sharp!"

OMG they missed eachother by seconds at the shopping centre, and in the office she only needed to turn around.

So Raunak was having a flashbacks, I guess he's lost his memeory????😊

And Om has seen him, I wonder whats gonna ahappen next.
