@Urooj - I totally understand WHY people are bashing chars like Shruti, Sonu etc. I do it myself. But there is "constructive criticism", like you say, and then there is "bashing" - the two are very different. The topics that I am referring to are more to do with bashing for the sake of it - if a person can justify their anger with a valid set of reasons from the show as evidence - then that is criticism. Simply saying "So and so is disgusting/the worst person in the world/not fit to be a human" etc etc is not helpful to any discussion, is it? I realise that people have a lot of anger regarding this issue and rightly so; but we have to remember that isolated bashing is wrong in any context 😛

For my part, I'll criticise Shruti as much as anyone else, but personally I am trying to see the bigger picture in this whole track - and I thank Ekta for bringing this issue (the power struggle, not just the rape) into light, because for the first time in any of Ekta's serials, I can see how difficult it is to make a decision - the RIGHT decision - and how easy it is to take the easy option, as Shruti and perhaps even Sonu have done. Like you say, the only consolation is that Shruti is doing it out of motherly love, and Sonu for greed of money. But nevertheless, each character portrays a section of society that is prevalant in today's modern world, and we must remember that it is easy to sit at home and tell people what they should be doing, and a whole different ballgame when you have to be the one making the decision. People should just try stepping in someone else's shoes for a moment 😉

Vasu, I see your point, since I witnessed such posts just now 😕 ; I am totally with you on that yaar. All I was saying because rape is such a sensitive subject negative response will be voiced, and rightly so. In fact if you look at the widespread outcome on the forum it's pleasing and also satisfying to see that the audience are not willing to accept characters such as Sonu/Shruti/Chaya/Maaji, and how the audience is willing to voice against such behaviour. It shows the maturity and how people are changing there mindset and perspectives. Now just hope the Poll results reflect the general outcome of this forum.

Regards the bigger picture I totally agree with you, in the current position it's not only difficult for Paro to make the right decision but other members of the family too. Trust me yaar, in the last two eps I have always tried to visualise the real world, and what is currently shown does reflect a section of people who think and react exactly like these characters. Maybe that's why I seem to understand where Shruti's POV.

We are all discussing serial here...
and if a character is doing something wrong, we have to express our anger....
and if some character is doing right, we will express our happiness.
I don't get why are you getting offensive... it's not about Tina...it's about Shruti. and she is a character of this serial....
if we don't discuss happenings and characters... what else we supposed to write here... 😕

^Hun, read my posts again - this is not about Shruti. I have had to close topics on Parvati AND Pranay that were obscene, vulgar and disgusting. Discussing/criticising a character does not mean using offensive language or attacking an actor on the basis of their looks/personal life. THAT is what we have a problem with, not your discussion.
