^Actually, that makes all of the AG women, barring Mets, Gunn, Pragati and Paro, hypocrites.
I know that what Shruti is doing is sick and not defendable. But why are people forgetting that she is not the only woman in that house opposed to this court case? Why are we forgetting that even Sonu has a daugther, Neha, and yet it is Sonu who has turned the minds of her husband and sister against supporting Mets? She was the one who selfishly told Varun that Pranay was THEIR son, simply because she wants his 500 crores? What about Chaya, who also has a daughter - what if this happened to Chhavi? Chaya can't see anything beyond money and/or going against Paro. Chaya was the one who gave Pranay that disgusting idea about "showing up" the Mehras.
What about Mayuri, who herself has been through an MMS scandal, and was helped by Parvati. What if Parvati had turned around to her then and said "We don't want society to point fingers at us, so forget about going to the police and just marry Shikhar anyway"?? Can't Mayuri identify with Mets at all? Or what about Maaji, the so-called matriarch - her own daughter Sonali was raped by someone, and how hard did she fight for HER justice? Why is she not seeing that it's not about bahus or betis - it's about women?!
I understand and totally condemn Shruti's actions, but out of all these women listed above, her reasons are still emotional and not materialistic. I won't support her, but I can understand how difficult it is for a mother to go against the son she loves more than life; I can't understand a BIOLOGICAL mother supporting her son only for money. There are women like Shruti in this world, and there are women like Sonu and Chaya as well. Who would get your sympathy in real life - the affectionate yet blind mother, or the money-hungry, opportunistic mother?
