Chapter 33

Maithili brushed her hair looking into the mirror. She thought of all the moments she spent with adi, how she hugged him, how she cried in his arms. She then remembered how she felt the strange sence of jealousy while adi lavishly flirted with so many girls. She smiled faintly as she remembered herself turn into the green-eyes monster and barking at one of adi's 'giirlfriends'

Maybe this marriage wasn't going to be so bad afterall! Maithili lightened her heart by chanting this and to some extent, it worked! But on the larger scale, it didn't.

She sighed as she restlessly fiddled with her locks of thick black hair. She heard a knock. She rushed to open her door but was bemused when she didn't find anyone there.

M: huh? Kaun hai?

She slowly turned round to find Adi staring at her from the terrace window.

She opened her mouth in shock.

M: OMG adi!!?!??

She rushed to open the window and helped up a panting adi.

A: you..do not know…how hard the climb was!!

He said between breaths.

Maithili couldn't help laughing…

M: i..i'm sorry…but why? You could have just knocked on the door!

A: oh ya! Then I'd meet your dad and say to him: chachu!! I mean dad!! I've come to meet maithili!! Will you let your son-in-law –to-be come in?

M: ok ok! So why have you come here?

A: i..i really need ot talk to you!look our engagement in the day after and we have very little time! I just don' know what to do!!

A: dad's forcing me to marry you, and I just can't!!! he threatening to throw me out of the house and without any money or property!!

Maithili looked offended: so I'm not good enough for you!!!

She was practically shouting at aid and e didn't think of it wise to shout back.

A: look look now..

M: you don't you 'look' me!!! I've had enough!! The whole scandal on tv!! News reporters making phone calls one after the other asking me all sorts of embarrassing questions!!! You've ruined my life and you'll fix it!!! Get it!!!!

M: OUT!!!

Adi sulked and stepped into maithili's terrace..

A: this talk is soo not over Maihtili!!

M: what-ever! Because for me…everything's over!!!

Adi sulked as he got to his room and jumped on the bed. He began thinking of all the things he'd have to do after marriage, because there really was no way of getting out of this one! He looked at his beloved bed…

"I'll have ot share you from next week onwards…" he whined..

"no!! I'm not gonna share you!! maithili's gonna sleep on th ecouch!! Or the floor..!!!this is my room!!!"

Aid sighed and slept on the bed.

Next morning was their graduation function. Adi got ready and was about ot sit in his car when Mayuri came…

M: beta! Maithili ko bhi saath le chalo!

Ma; no no aunty!

M: beta! Call me mamma!

Ma: ha mamma…I'll go by myself!

M: nonsence! You'll be adi's wife in a week's time! Go with him!

Maithili frowned and reluctantly sat in the car with adi

Ma: I hate you..

A: I hate you too!

When they reached college, a whole crowd was waiting for them.

A: hey look! They're waiting for me!!

M: no! for US!!

A: there is no US!!!

M: well there will be, if you like it or not!! We're getting MARRIED!!!

A: you know, the reality of that just sunk in…

Maithili rolled her eyes..

M: I hate..

A: you!

Adi and maithili got out of the car to find out the crowd was not waiting for them, but for someone else..

Loads of boys were staring at what they saw ahed, adi tooturned his head round. He stood gaping at what he saw and maithili wasn't too pleased looking at him.
