What happens when a bunch of youngsters are thrown together, where they spend at least 20 hours a day, for an indefinite period of time? Yes, loads of masti and fun, but often Cupid takes pot shots at them. Something like this happened on the sets of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii.
The sets became a lover's paradise when, Gen Next protagonist, Parvati bhabhi's grandchildren were introduced in the kahaani. The new generation of Kahaani... has caught the fancy of the crew members because of two love stories brewing side by side.
Since day one, the youth gang became pally. While some of them found their soul mate others maintained they were 'just good friends'! Like Jeetu Malkani (Pranay) considers Archana Bhatt (Pragati) his best friend. They hang out on the sets and on a common day off, they enjoy each other's company.
"I have no clue from where these rumours have started and I am shocked to hear all this! Earlier Archana was linked to Ali Merchant and now it's me. The entire young generation hangs out together and we all meet often. Archana is a genuine person and anyone would love to have her as a friend. In fact we are best of friends." However, Archana was unavailable for comments. Another couple from the same serial has been in a relationship and they are grabbing eyeballs. Shalini Chandran (plays Maithili) and Mahesh Kumar (plays Batuk) love to hang around and are also seen cozying up. Shalini spilled the beans for us and gave us the details of their association. She said, "Why should I date him, when he is my fianc? Although we don't share much screen space in the show, we always make sure that we are together on the sets!" Shalini and Mahesh are engaged and that happened in September last year.
Shalini, who is from Jamshedpur, did her acting course in Barry John's school in Delhi. Mahesh and Shalini happened to shoot one short film together in June last year and became friends. Their friendship blossomed into love later. Shalini adds, "Our families were happy with our liaison and we got engaged in September 2006. We are staying in Mumbai now with our parents. Both of us are much caught up with work. Marriage is going to happen very soon!"
