Mani comes to Mumbai

The reclusive Mani Ratnam will soon be coming out of his shell to attend the music release of his close friend and associate, producer Chintu Mohapatra's Jai Jagannath on July 12 at ISKCON temple in Juhu. Says a source close to him, "Apart from Shah Rukh Khan and Mani sir, Shankar (the director of Sivaji) will also be attending the event. They are all very fond of Chintu."

The buzz is that Mani is recovering from the death of his brother, G Srinivasan, who passed away recently. We hear he's stopped work on all his projects for the time being. Srinivasan was also the producer of most of Ratnam's films.

For Aparna Tilak, size does matter, especially when it comes to cars. When her brother Kalyan arranged for a surprise ride in a Hummer for Aparna while she was on holiday in Dubai, the actress was ecstatic.

Says Aparna, "I had a great time! I have always dreamt of driving a Hummer, or at the very least, sitting in one so this was the chance of a lifetime. Kalyan's friend Darryl owns a Hummer and he let us go for a ride in it that day."
