Hey everyone,
First of all, I apologize for the delay. Hopefully, this update will make up for it. There aren't many Adi and Mathilli scenes. I'll try put more in the next update. Let me know what you think.

Part 20

The next day Adi and Mathilli went to the house, and learned from nearby neighbors that the owner was gone out of town for a few days. He would be returning tomorrow. While walking back to the camp site Adi and Mathilli discussed what to do next.

M: Adi…I think we should search through the house to see if we can find any clues.

A: You are right. Right now it's too early to break into his house; someone will surely see is. We'll go at midnight.

M: Alright…I guess then we should go to the camp site.

A: Oh come on! You are so unromantic.

M: Why?

A: We have the whole day to ourselves, and you want to go back to the camp. This is my first time in Pune, and I was hoping that you would show me around. After all, you are the champion football player of this place.

M: Alright, let's go.

Mathilli first took Adi to the mall, where they nearly shopped for two hours. Mathilli picked out a variety of polo shirts for Adi, while Adi had disappeared into another section of the mall. While Mathilli was going through a pile of different shirts, she heard Adi call out to her from the back.

A: Mathilli

Mathilli turned around and noticed that Adi had both of his hands behind his back. She could tell that we he was hiding something from her.

M: Adi…what do you have behind your back?

A: I want to give you something

M: What?

Adi finally revealed what he was hiding. It was a gorgeous wedding dress. Mathilli's eyes widened as soon as she saw it.

A: Do you like it?

M: I love it! Who is it for?

A: You.

Mathilli wasn't expecting to hear that from Adi. She never thought that Adi would go and shop for her.

A: I saw this dress on our way inside, and I thought it would look perfect on you. I thought that maybe you could wear this when we get married…that is only if you want, there is no pressure.

M: Adi, this is a really beautiful dress, and I would love to wear it for our wedding.

A: Well, why don't you try it on.

M: Right now?

A: Of course…I want to get a glimpse of how my bride will look.

Mathilli went into the changing room to try the dress on while Adi waited right by the door, so he would be the first one to see her. A few minutes later, Mathilli came out in the dress, leaving Adi speechless. Even though she had no make up or jewelry on with the dress, her beauty was mesmerizing. Adi stared at her with his mouth a little open. Mathilli had to snap her fingers to bring him back on earth.

M: How do I look?

A: Absolutely gorgeous…I don't think I can wait till we find Chotu…let's get married today.

M: Adi, you're crazy.

A: I've been crazy since the moment I fell in love with you. Now you better go back and change before I take you to a temple and marry you!

Afterwards, Mathilli made sure that Adi didn't go off wandering and buying things for her. They shopped for him instead for the rest of the time.

Mathilli then took Adi to the sports club where she played football. There she introduced him to some of the other players who were delighted to see her. When they were leaving the sports club, Mayuri called Adi.

Mayuri: Hi Adi, how are you?

Adi: I'm good mom.

Mayuri: I needed you to do something.

Adi: What mom?

Mayuri: Actually, there is a temple in the area where you two are staying. I wanted you and Mathilli to go there. I know you hate going to the temple, but please for me?

Adi: Sure mom, we'll go.

Mayuri: Good, give Mathilli the phone and I'll explain everything to her.

Mayuri gave Mathilli all the instructions, and the couple headed towards the temple. At the temple, Adi and Mathilli prayed together for each other. By the entrance of the temple, women were tying a string around a tree for the safety of their men. Mathilli took a string and started to tie it around the tree. When she had nearly finished one round around the tree, she felt two strong hands hold her hands. She turned around and noticed Adi standing right behind her.

M: What are you doing, Adi?

A: You are tying this string for my safety, and I am tying it with you to pray for your safety.

Together, Adi and Mathilli, tied the string around the tree.

The sun was about to set, which meant that they had a few more hours before they had to back to that house. Mathilli and Adi went to the beach, where most of the families were returning home. There they built a sand castle, and Mathilli decided to play around with Adi a little bit.

M: Adi there is something on your face?

A: Where?

Adi put his face a little forward so Mathilli could wipe whatever was on it. Instead, Mathilli put some wet sand on his cheek. Before Adi could react to her little prank, Mathilli began running. As soon as he realized what Mathilli had done, Adi started chasing her. For several minutes, Adi chased Mathilli around the beach. Eventually he caught up to her and grabbed her by the waist, and the two fell in the water by the shore. Adi was right on top of Mathilli, and the two had started giggling as soon as the fell. Eventually, they came to their senses when they realized where they were and what position they were in. However, neither one of them attempted to get up. Adi gazed right into Mathilli's eyes. He could sense that she was a little nervous but excited, at the same time, about what was happening. Adi gently bent his head down and gave Mathilli a warm, loving kiss. He unwillingly pulled back and looked at her once again.

A: You're beautiful, Mathilli.

Part 21

Adi and Mathilli went back to the cottage and changed into some dry clothes. Adi suggested that they wear some dark clothes so they can blend in with the darkness. Adi wore black pants and a black sleeveless top, while Mathilli wore black pants and a gray tank top. They parked the jeep a little bit away from the house, so no one would suspect them. Adi opened the window from the back of the house through which the two entered. They quietly searched around the house.

Mathilli found a small box underneath the bed in the main bedroom. Inside, she found a file which a had a few pictures and papers inside of it. One of those pictures was of Chotu. There were some other people, but Adi and Mathilli could not recognize who they were.

The next day they returned to the house and saw a cark parked in front of it: they figured that the owner had come back. Upon knocking the door, they were greeted by an elderly, simple man.

Man: Yes, how can I help you?

Adi: Actually, we have some questions for you?

Man: About what?

Adi: About that child that was kidnapped from Mehra house years ago.

The man had begun to sweat and shiver when Adi mentioned Chotu.

Man: I don't know what you are talking about?

Mathilli then pulled out the pictures they had found.

Mathilli: Perhaps these pictures can refresh your memory…

The man did not give a response.

Mathilli: You know what Adi, I don't think we will get any answers. We should call the police.

That scared the man and he immediately started to open his mouth.

Man: Please don't…I'll tell you everything…it's true that I helped kidnap this child years ago.

Adi: Why?

Man: I really needed money, and the person who asked me to bring the child to him from Mumbai, was offering a big amount. All I had to do was pick the child up from his lawyer's office and safely bring him here, where that man took the child.

Adi: Who was this man…we need to know he is because this child's family is frantically searching for him. This child means a lot to my nani, and I need to find him. I'll give you whatever amount you ask for.

Man: That man's name was…Shashank Garg.

Adi: Do you know where he is now?

The man told Adi and Mathilli everything he had discussed with Shashank the day he gave Chotu to him.

*flashback*

A tall man is looking at the window when this man walks in with Chotu.

Man: Here is the child sir.

The tall man turns around—it is none other than Shashank. Shashank takes the child into his arms.

Shashank: Very well done…you will get your money soon. I'll have my lawyer transfer it to your account.

Man: Thank you sir…if you don't mind me asking, what is it about this child. I mean you are not even this child's father.

Shashank: This child is the world for a very special person. This person took everything from me—she destroyed my family. Right now everyone thinks she is dead, but I know she is alive. I know that she is going to come back one day for her family. And that is when, I will return with this child and use him against her.

By now Shashank wasn't really answering the man's question. It seemed as if he was talking to himself, planning out his biggest move.

Shashank: Parvati Agarwal, I know you will return to teach Trishna and Rajeshwari a lesson. You think that this will be your biggest battle, but you are wrong. Your biggest battle will begin the day when your grandson will return as your enemy.

Shashank then gave an evil laugh at the thought of his plan.

* end of flashback *

Man: That was all he said…I don't know where he is.

Part 22

Adi and Mathilli were a little disappointed: things were becoming more complicated. They decided to take a walk through the park and sort out all the information they have.

A: Who is this Shashank Garg?

M: I don't know Adi. Whoever he is, he was well aware that Parvati Agarwal did not die in jail.

A: I guess he somehow found out that nani was going to back for her family.

Just then Mathilli stopped walking. It was as if she had realized something.

A: What is it Mathilli?

M: Shashank Garg said that he was going to use the child against Parvati Agarwal. What if he is waiting for Janki Devi to declare herself as Paravti Agarwal?

A: I think you are right…from what you've said, I think that whoever this Shashank Garg is going to use Chotu against nani.

M: Which means that there is a chance that Chotu may come back.

A: I want Parvati nani to have her grandson back, but I don't know if she will be able to deal with what Shashank Garg must have made him into. This fight against her own loved ones is too painful: I'm not sure if she will be handle another fight.

M: I know what you are saying, Adi, but don't forget that Janki Devi can change anyone. Look at the changes she has made at Agarwal house. Because of her Pragati got her confidence, and the other children are starting to see Trishna dadi's true colors. I'm sure that if that Shashank Garg has taken Chotu on the wrong path, Janki ma'm will bring him back. And we will be there to support her.

Adi just stared at her.

M: What are you staring at?

A: How can you be so positive…you will always look at the bright side?

M: Well…what can I say, I'm an optimist!

Mathilli pretended to show off, and her little act managed to bring a smile on Adi's face.

Adi and Mathilli called Janki Devi that day, and Ashutosh was with her at the moment. They were able to have a conversation on the speakerphone. Adi and Mathilli explained the details to Janki Devi, who then told the whole story of Sashank Garg and why he hates her. By the time she finished, Janki Devi broke out into tears.

Janki: I couldn't even protect my daughter's child. He is now with one of my biggest enemies. God knows what Sasha must have done to him.

Ashutosh hugged his mother and managed to soothe her while Adi and Mathilli waited patiently by the phone to get their next instructions. As soon as Janki Devi got a hold of herself, Adi informed her that he will fax her the pictures and other details.

A: Nani, should we come back?

J: No, Adi. You guys still have one week of the camp left. You have a responsibility towards those children, and I don't want you two to back out. Besides, there isn't much we can do except wait. You guys stay there and finish this obligation. I'll tell you what to do next when you return.

A: Okay Nani.

Later that night, Adi was searching for Mathilli everywhere. After checking every room, Adi found her sitting on a swing outside. He quietly walked behind her and embraced her from the back. However, instead of flinching or yelling at him, Aid observed that Mathilli was hiding her face from him. Adi figured in a few seconds that Mathilli was crying. He put a finger underneath his chin and directed her face towards him. Mathilli had not wiped all of her tears.

A: Mathilli, what's wrong? Why are you crying?

M: Nothing.

A: Mathilli, don't try to hide it from me. You know that I hate tears in your eyes.

M: I was just thinking about all that's been going on. I don't get why a good person like Janki Ma'm has to go all of this.

A: Mathilli, you are the one with the optimistic thinking. And now you are breaking down. If you'll become weak, then who will support me, and how will I help nani get through this. Nani is a really good person, and I know that she will get her share of the happiness.

Mathilli then stood up and walked a few feet away from the swing where she got a better view of the water outside.

M: I don't know why Adi, but I feel as if a huge storm is going to come into our lives.

At the same time, a plane landed at the International Airport in Mumbai.

M: I feel as if we are going to be up against a really big fight.

At the airport, there were two men surrounded by several guards marching towards the exit of the airport. All the people in their surroundings stopped to get a glimpse of these two men. Even though they did not utter a word, they managed to get everyone's attention.

Adi joined Mathilli and held her by her waist.

A: Don't worry Mathilli…whatever is out there, we will beat it together. Together, you and I are strong enough to overcome any obstacle.

In front of the airport, the two men stopped by a black car. There the two men embraced each other and one of them sat in the car and drove off. After the car left, the other man turned around to face a temple that was nearby and had statues of Ram and Sita. That man was Sashank. He now had a more sophisticated and elegant look.

Sashank: India! I am back! I am back Parvati Agarwal. It's time for war again, and this time I will win. You do not have your "Ram"—Om Agarwal with you. You are all alone.

Back at the cottage

Adi: Nani is not alone…we are with her.

(At the airport)

Sashank: Now no one can protect you from me.

(At the cottage)

Adi: We won't let anything happen to her. We will protect her.

(At the airport)

Sashank: Be prepared Parvati Agarwal…Because I have a prepared a weapon that will destroy you…your own blood—your grandson. I have brought him back to use him against you. Be ready Parvati, for your biggest losst.

On one side, Sashank vowed to destroy Parvati by using her own grandson—Chotu. On the other hand, Parvati's other grandson, Adi and Mathilli vowed to stand by her through anything.
