"I won't strip in front of the camera. I think films with (just) nudity in them shouldn't be made at all"
Molly > Aamir, I am a big fan of yours (since your Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai film debut). I love the way you speak. Tell us where you stay in Mumbai. How to meet you in person?
Aamir Ali > Thanks for your compliment. I stay in Lokhandwala (Mumbai). You can come and visit me on the sets at Sankraman ( the studio at Goregaon).
Loyal > Were you noticed because of your drinks ad where you were shown chasing the cheetah? How did you become a TV actor from being a model?
Aamir Ali > Yes, I was noticed because of that ad. It was my most famous ad. I always wanted to take a step ahead (to becoming actor) and acting is the step ahead after modelling.
Ann > Why are you playing such a boring role in KGGK ( Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki)?
Aamir Ali > If you find it boring I promise to make up for it by the role I am playing in (my) new film, Anjaan , which is going to release soon.
Molly > Aamir, where are you originally from? Tell us about your growing up days.
Aamir Ali > I was born in Mumbai. My mom worked with a bank and had a transferable job so initially I shifted a lot. I was in Banglore for three years and then in Panchgani (boarding school) for two years. Then I came back to Mumbai. I studied at the National College in Mumbai.
Magic > Why is there such a craze among models to get into TV? Do films no longer excite you guys that you head straight for the small screen?
Aamir Ali > Everybody wants to grow (and move forward) in life. After one models for few years and is confident in front of the camera, he/she wants to start acting. There is no craze or anything. It's the gradual step that one takes. To get a good banner and films is difficult. So that's why people head towards TV, initially.
Molly > Aamir, what is your stance on the nudity in films of these days? If the "role demands" will you strip before the camera?
Aamir Ali > I won't strip in front of the camera. I think films with (just) nudity in them shouldn't be made at all.
Wajeeha > What is your dream role? The one you'd most love to do?
Aamir Ali > My dream roles are the role I am doing in Anjaan and Raghu . They are my forthcoming films.
Boru > Why did you do a film like Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai if you are against skin show? Do you regret doing a film like Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai ? Why?
Aamir Ali > There is a difference between fun film and hardcore sex film, and Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai was a fun film. Besides, if you are acting in movies you can't cover your self from head to toe. But that (YKHRH) certainly wasn't a sex film. No, I don't regret doing that film.
Higs > How did you bag the role of Sameer in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki ? Do you like your role in it?
Aamir Ali > I got a call from Balaji to do the serial. I like my role.
Ann > What made you take up acting as your career
Aamir Ali > That's the only thing I can do.
Wajeeha > Who have been your screen idols from the Indian silver screen? Who has inspired you the most? Do you ever see yourself rising above the 'star' label?
Aamir Ali > Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Kamal Hassan. The combination of all three of them has inspired me the most. Rising above the star label is a too farsighted question to be answered now. Let me be a decent actor first then I will think of these things.
Ann > Any girlfriends lately?
Aamir Ali > No, I am single.
James > Do you still act in music videos? Do you also sing?
Aamir Ali > I am a very bad singer. I haven't done a video since a very long time now.
Figs > After Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai , frankly, didn't you receive the same kind of offers and didn't you get labelled as a sex symbol??
Aamir Ali > Frankly, I didn't get many film offers. I got a lot TV offers though. Thanks for calling me a sex symbol. No one (had) called me that before.
Pips > Future plans? Are you going to be in films or do more of TV?
Aamir Ali > I am going to act, whichever roles whether in TV or films, excite me more.
