I have been a TV viewer for over 10 years at one point I even thought of being part of it and interned at Star One, I can tell you one thing....everything he has said, lots and lots of producers have said before him. But Sandip Sickand should not be saying all of this, becos he has been part of this rat race from the beginning when he was with Ekta Kapoor. He knows better than anyone else how the system works.

we may want to love this show but the fact is, the formula that Ekta used was what he used “get the audience to LOVE your leads and don’t worry about story arcs”

The last time I heard a producer call out the TRP system and Star was Atish Kapadia and let me tell you, he was applauded for it, becos he gave us shows like Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Khichdi which were truly hatke. Sandip did not give us anything hatke ... I am sorry...

the one thing I will forever credit Sandip with is bringing Karan Grover to the forefront, I hope this actor goes a long long way.

Yes..this is the truth . Khkt wasnt that hatke but the build up was excellent and he managed to get near about 2 trps which is abs good , considering the new shows of sp are struggling below 1. Khkt before it got ruined ,was better than the rest of the shows ..I never got hooked to khkt bec of the chemistry of lead pair , it was the content . But max fans r there for chemistry alone .

we do care about the cast. The new show of shahi, anupama , which he is promoting , which looks like english vinglish, was a dud to me bec I dont wanna watch a serial based on hard realities of life.. I want an escape from the daily routine tensions , I wanna laugh, feel good about it , and get entertained. The entertainment can come from an excellent storyline too . I love content based shows but they must be consistent n its not possible in daily shows..it happens with limited epis shows only . So for daily soaps I love romance comedy , for that good star cast is a must..if there were young actors in rs new show I would have liked it bec i relate more to our gen problems in the family.

Btw Sandip was the head of ek during ksbkbt kzk kahin kisinroz n all these serials which we make fun of.😆

KVG is definitely interested in the work but has a gr8 bond with the cast which is why he still shoots for it despite having a daily soap. This is why I said for friendship. Like SRK used to work for Kjo n YRF in the past. Its not like they didnt pay him for the films.

I didn’t think it is right to judge people based on the shows they watch. Like don’t we all also love some drama when it is centred around leads?

Many of the fans did like the scene post Rohit throwing the divorce papers on Sona. They were praising the scenes and the acting of the leads.
Didn’t we all kinda enjoy when Sona ended up being the one under the veil during the wedding?
That wedding was nothing short of OTT. Still we all liked it because the conclusion was something we wanted and we didn’t mind the means.
Like sometimes it is fun to you know see the shock on people’s faces.

Don’t tell me you don’t wanna see the betrayal in Veena’s faces when she learns about Nishi’s truth! I personally am waiting for that.

Just because I enjoy these over dramatic larger than life scenes, doesn’t mean I am an idiot.
All TV shows are catering to the pan Indian sensibilities. Some of our outlooks might be more modern than the majority but the makers can’t make shows catering to just us because it is not viable.
I may be studying in a reputed national institution and still might like to watch such shows like KHKT. I might be running a firm and might still watch KKB.
Doesn’t mean I am OTT or illogical in reality.
We all understand that TV is just for entertainment and no one is living their life based on what these TV shows are showing because most of us don’t take them seriously.

I guess it is time we stopped judging people who watch shows which we don’t like. Name calling them has to stop. Because who are we to judge?!

Yes. I will a hypocrite to call out on the content bec I do watch it , and have been a tv buff since it all started..i watch more sp serials , zee and colours dont match my taste..no matter how much ekta iscriticized , her serials are watched by te audience for diff reasons...for a housewife , who has no better job after the chores ,they switch to tv for timepass , they like certain things, they dont like certain things still they tune into tv everyday as per their taste....some like reality shows some dont..some like dayans some dont...some like ekta some dont...

It's a reality and ekta and sandip both know , that online audience like us are very different from the huge trp base which is extremely varied ...ekta in her iv said that we have diff tastes acc to the medium we r watching ..tv medium is mostly a family one targeted at women audience and families ...on the web they experiment with the story characters realism and bold content which they cant do in a daily soap. We must understand their problem also, they have a have a episode everyday which should bring trps, move the story forward and is engaging to the audience . They cant take the reviews of the online fandom seriously otherwise their trp hits bk ...we must chk ourselves what do we keep demanding..mostly it is romance and romantic scenes ..if they go with a bold heroine , it doesnt work for them .mostly ..If they go for doormat , online audience isnt pleased but they get trps from her bechargi..generally speaking, how many female leads r shown working ? Hardly any.....if the leads r smart n there r no vamps villains ,the story will end in less than a 100 epis. So dramatization is also necessary and every element is necessary but they need to balance it..I have no patience to watch a sadist show ..in which the fl is forever being tortured . That's why probably shows like.choti sardarni worked..the good and bad needs to be balanced out .

I toh said that it's better post the leap bec sona is at least using her brains ..she hates rohit from the outside ..there r females who dont do that also..like.roshni and prerna . It will be even better if sona takes on nishi n rohit is kept on the side.. trps will rise def...but again not all will be happy bec there will be some who would wanna see Suhag raat, some would wanna see rohit not supporting his mom, some wud be angry with suman and so on and so forth .

Just bec the trps of dayans and nagin is more , that doesnt mean everyone wants to watch that..its a diff genre and there is audience for it..there is audience for horror shows and some like only comedy ..like tak Mehta..I dont mind watching nagin , it's not as bad ..some like reality shows like big boss, I have not seen a single scene of any season..so writing off the audience choice really doesnt help...if we say good content ,it may be good to us but might be boring for the other ..so that's why the collective opinion matters which is trps nothing else.

As a creator, once the story is past a point, the characters have been made to do things unlike their normal selves, then there is little left to retain that original interest level. The creator himself would be in conflict because he'd be telling himself that Rohit/Sonakshi aisa nahi kar sakte. So after that, it's pretty much like bhaad me jaao which he has again said in so many words. I'm glad that his annoyance is evident in his words and if nothing, then at least the fans know that he's as upset as them for having ruined the show.
