Hi, I rarely write with the intention of anyone reading it, but this story, and especially Sonakshi's dialogues have played a huge part in helping me overcome a painful past and find my footing again. So hats off to the writers for connecting on such a basic level.. Since tomorrow is probably going to be without Ronakshi, I thought I'll write something I feel should happen, to help Rohit remember who the Sonakshi he married was at the core.. I am not saying she is right, but I feel somewhere Rohit is a lot like his father when it comes to temper tantrums and the way his father is only mellow with Veena, because of the secret where he will lose her, I think Rohit will also only learn when he realises he can lose Sonakshi in those tantrums..
So here it goes..
Vaada Raha
Rohit has left for Delhi, and the Sippy family all leaves for Akash's restaurant. Hearing everyone talking about Sonakshi and her rain dance, makes Naren really upset and asks Sonakshi about the dance (as per the precap).
Before Sonakshi can respond, Veena intervenes, "Naren, yeh jagah sahi nai hai, please ghar jaake baat karenge, abhi nai". "But this is being talked about in public only. Sab ishi baarein mein baat kar rae hai.. Kaha tha maine ki ek ghatiya si TV actress humare ghar ki bahu banne ke layak nai hai, and tum sabne mera oppose kiya tha", comes the rude and angry response of Naren. Sonakshi gets shocked listening to the statement, but composes herself and says, "Papa..". "Mat kaho mujhe papa. Koi papa nai hai tumhara.. Kabhi Mhatre, kabhi khudki shaadi ki news leak karna, kabhi Pooja ka sach leak karna toh kabhi iss Rani ko uthake ghar le aana, bina soche samjhe hi toh karti ho tum sab. No wonder even your real papa left.. Thak gaye honge tumhare and tumhari mom ke naatak and dramo se.." Naren crosses the line in his anger, when Badi mumma stands up shocked, "Naren. Bas! Iss ghar ki badi hum hai, and humare rules chalenge iss ghar mein. Iss baar tumne hadd paar ki hai, but hum saari baatein ab ghar pe karenge.. Chalo yaha se.". She turns towards Sonakshi who can now be seen fighting her tears back, "Sonakshi beta, hum Naren ki taraf se sorry kehte hai, woh apne gusse mein kuch bhi bolta hai. Please ghar chalo and waha baat karenge iss baarein mein."
Pooja and Ajit get up, walk towards Sonakshi and help her get up and walk towards the door, "Sonakshi bhabhi, please ghar chaliye".. Everyone goes home without a single word being uttered, while Ajit and Pooja look at each other helplessly. Ajit signs to Pooja about calling Rohit, who shakes her head no.
Everyone gathers in the sitting area when YK turns towards Rani, ready to say something when Pooja intervenes, "Aapko laane ka decision mera tha, but meri shayad galti thi ki maine bina badi mumma se puchhe aapko ghar le aai.. Maine kabhi nai socha tha ki mera decision Sonakshi bhabhi ko itna zyaada hurt karega, aap please room mein jaiye.. Yeh hum Sippys ki baat hai and mujhe nai lagta aapko yaha hona chaiye Rani Ma."
Sonakshi sits almost lifeless while Veena tries to explain to Naren, "Naren, Rohit and Pooja gaye the Sonakshi ke uss shoot pe, and Pooja ne bataya tha ki Sonakshi comfortable nai thi but Rohit ne usko samjhaya tha ki yeh uska kaam hai. Hum jaante the Sonakshi ke profession ke baarein mein and when we haven't stopped anyone else from choosing their lifestyle, why Sonakshi?". Badi mumma also pipes in, "Jo aaj tumne Sonakshi ke father ke baarein mein bola, woh bahut galat tha Naren. Sonakshi Pooja ki situation mein shayad galat hai, but humein pura yakeen hai ki Sonakshi ne news leak nai ki thi, koi si bhi, and woh sirf Pooja ke liye acha karne ka try kar rai hai. Her ways maybe wrong, but right now, Pooja is right, sirf Sonakshi hai jo uske POV se soch rai hai, hum sab sirf Sippy POV se soch rae hai.. I toh am proud of Sonakshi, ki woh even Rohit ke against khadi ho gayi Pooja ke liye, uski khushi ke liye." Naren gets pissed at this line, "Haan, sirf main hi galat ho na, yeh jiss tarah ka ganda dance karke aai hai, with a stranger, that is okay? Humari family ki reputation ke baarein mein did she think at all? Rohit ki reputation ke baarein mein? Everyone was talking ki jaise scenes she does, it is a matter of time before she leaves Rohit also. Acha hi tha na ki maine woh..." YK interrupts Naren knowing what he was going to say, "Bhaisaab! Please kuch aisa mat kahiye jisko aap waapis na le paae." He turns towards where Sonakshi was sitting, only to find her gone, "Sonakshi kaha hai?".
Everyone turns around to look for her when Ravi comes running in, "Sonakshi bhabhi apni car leke kahin chali gayi sir. Maine bahut rokne ki koshish ki par maano unko kuch sunaai hi nai de raha ho." Naren starts off on his tantrum again, "Yeh sahi hai iss ladki ka. Hum ab uski tension bhi le jiski wajah se humare ghar mein sirf dramas ho rae hai.". Badi mumma gets angry at Naren, "Bas karo Naren. Bas. Uss ladki ko todne ka decision tumhara tha, now woh khudko kaise theek karti hai, you can't comment on that." Turning towards Ajit, "Rohit ko call karo. Usko zaroor pata hoga ki Sonakshi kaha jaegi iss waqt. Usko wajah mat batana, bas kehna ki dinner pe uski baatein hui toh Sonakshi got a little upset at missing him and left."
Here in Delhi, Rohit checks into the hotel and drops his bag on the bed, which lands on the TV remote, switching the TV on to KPK and the rain dance sequence. Rohit gets lost in his wife's beauty again, "I miss you Sona... Gussa hoon tumse, bahut zyaada, but pyaar abhi bhi wahin hai.. Sorry tumhe bina bye bole aa gaya, but kya karun, tumne uss Rani ko laake jo musibat khadi kari hai, uske baarein mein main kaise hi kuch comment karun..Iss baar, chah ke bhi, main tumhare saath khada nai ho sakta kyunki tum hi mere khilaaf chali gayi ho.." Rohit rubs his face in frustration and goes off to freshen up. When he returns, he sees 15 missed calls from Ajit. Rohit's heart skips a beat, "Sona"..
He hurriedly calls Ajit, "Ajit! Kya hua? Sab theek hai na? Sona, meri Sona theek hai na? Kuch hua kya ghar pe? Kahin uss Rani ne kuch toh nai kara?.." Ajit stops his brother's endless questions, masking his own panic and fear, "Bhai! Kuch nai hua. Aap bolne ka mauka do toh main kuch kahun na.. Aaj dinner pe mumma ne aapka topic uthaya and bhabhi ko hum purani baatein batane lag gaye, toh bas bhabhi aapko miss karne lagi and upset hoke dinner ke baad humare saath aai nai.. Aapko pata hai woh kaha hongi? Itni raat ho gayi toh mumma tense ho rai hai and unka phone lag nai raha.." Rohit is not fooled, "Main apni Sona ko jaanta hoon Ajit, woh mujhe miss karke upset hoti, toh room mein jaati, kahin bahar nai. Woh apne zakham bahar sirf tab aane deti hai jab uske zakhmo ko kureda jaata hai.. Kya hua hai? Mujhe sach batao and meri Sona ko dhoond ke laao, abhi! Main next flight se Bombay aa raha hoon." "Bhai but aapki conference?" asked Ajit, knowing how his brother is about his work. "Bhaad mein gayi conference, meri Sona zyaada important hai. Batao kya hua hai Ajit!". "Bhai, abhi bhabhi ka milna zyaada zaruri hai, aap please batao woh kaha hongi, baaki sab main aapko yaha aake batata hoon." Ajit tries reasoning with his brother.
Rohit calms down and says, "Ek pahadi hai, jaha kabhi main apne ghumo ko baatne jaata tha, and jaha maine aur Sona ne apni happy memories build karni start ki thi. Ravi jaanta hai uss jagah ke baarein mein. Woh le jaega tumhe.. Meri Sona ko kuch nai hona chaiye Ajit, samjhe tum?", saying this Rohit cuts the phone and immediately calls off his speaking arrangement, calling the agent to book the first flight back to Bombay.
Here Ajit, Pooja and YK reach the spot with Ravi but are shocked to find Sonakshi missing from there as well, "Ajit, agar Sonakshi bhabhi yaha bhi nai hai, toh kaha ho sakti hai? Kahin bhabhi kisi musibat mein toh nai?" worried Pooja, trying to still walk around the entire area in case they missed Sonakshi.. YK tries to frantically call Sonakshi, who is still not answering her call, though she can now hear the phone ringing in a distance, as she sat at the same spot on her set where the rain dance sequence was shot, under the showers she had switched on herself, "Main bahut buri hoon. Sahi kaha papa ne, mere papa bhi chodke chale gaye, Rohit bhi mujhe chodke chala jaega, main hoon hi aisi.. Jab se shaadi ki baat bhi hui hai, chahe mere aas paas ke log ho, ya mere apne, sabne aise halaat paida kiye hai ki maine Sippy ghar mein sirf problems add ki hai.. Rohit ne bhi yehi kaha tha na, ki jabse shaadi hui, sirf dramas hue hai, kuch theek nai hua hai ghar mein.. Shayad I deserve hate only, sahi kaha tha uss Karan ne, main kabhi khushiya deserve hi nai karti.. Maine Rohit ko kitna embarass kiya.. Kya papa ko bhi mera pyaar itna jhoota laga ki unhe laga main Rohit ko chod dungi? Main nai reh sakti Rohit ke bina, marr jaungi main.. Pichle do din se roz hazaaro maut mari hoon apne Rohit ke gusse ko dekhke, but shayad yehi meri kismat hai.. " Sonakshi keeps crying under the showers and not before long, exhaustion, emotional dress and lack of food causes her to faint.
Rohit reaches Sippy mansion to find Pulki with his family, he rushes to Pulki and asks, "Sona mili? Kuch pata chala? Hua kya hai?". Pulkit looks at his jeeju in anger, "Nahi mili di. Kahin nai mil rai. Maine mumma aur Pari ko kuch nai bataya kyunki woh tension mein aate, but jab YK sir hospital aae, main khudko rok nai paya and yehi sawaal puchne yaha aaya hoon. Aapse.. Di ka saara sach jaante the aap, jaante the kisne news leak kari and yeh bhi ki di ke liye Pooja and uski khushiya kya mayne rakhti hai. Nafrat karti thi aapse, phir bhi khudko dao pe rakh aai thi sirf Pooja ko bachane, and phir bhi aapne unhi pe sawaal kare? Unko itna rulaya, akela chodd diya? Jeeju aapse yeh umeed nai thi. Aap toh kehte the ki di ki aankho mein ek aansu nai aane doge, aur aapne hi unhe itna tod diya ki aaj meri di gayab hai? Bolo na, jawaab do.." Rohit lets tears fall out of his eyes, shocking his family and Pulkit, who have never seen him this ways, "Please help me find her. I will do anything you say after that.. Main jaanta hoon ki maine bahut galtiya ki hai aur yeh bhi ki main gusse mein bahut impulsive ho jaata hoon.. Main sab theek kar dunga, but please pehle meri Sona ko dhundne mein meri help karo.." saying so Rohit falls on his knees, wildly trying to think of where else can Sona go.
Rohit suddenly remembers and stands up, "Mom, aaj dinner pe kya hua? Main details baad mein jaan lunga, but agar situation pata ho toh shayad soch paun ki meri Sona agar uss hill pe nai gayi toh kaha gayi hogi.". Veena hesitates but tells him, "Dinner pe Naren ko kahin se uss rain dance ka pata chal gaya and unhone uske baarein mein Sonakshi se kaafi kadvi baatein kahi, uske papa ko leke bhi.." Rohit looks at his father in anger, "Main jaanta hoon meri Sona kaha hai, aur main usko lene ja raha hoon. Aap wish kijiye, ki usko kuch na hua ho, kyunki agar Sona ko kuch bhi hua, toh main bhool jaunga aapka and mera rishta and kuch aisa kar jaunga jo main karna nai chahta..". Rohit rushes out of the home with YK trailing behind him, "YK, humein Sona ke set pe jaana hoga. Woh wahin gayi hogi jaha woh gaana shoot hua tha and jaha hum pehli baar mile the.."
The entire route to the set, Rohit keeps wishing to every god he knew of. The entire scenario with Mahesh playing in front of his eyes, Sona fainted on set the first day they met, everything playing in front of his eys, "YK jaldi cchalao.. Meri Sona waha akeli hogi.. Aaj shoot nai thi koi.. Kahin kisi ne usko kuch kar diya toh.." Rohit and YK reach the set to find the sprinklers on, and Sona's broken friendship bracelet lying on the ground. Rohit picks it up without thinking about the water and starts to freak out, screaming for Sona. Just then Sumit comes out of Sona's room and finds Rohit there. He calls Rohit, "Rohit! Sonakshi apne room mein yaha hai..". Rohit and YK come running and see Sonakshi lying on the sofa, all wet. Rohit rushes to hug Sona, "Sona. Sona tum theek ho na? Sona please aankhein kholo. Dekho tumhara Rohit aa gaya.." . Sumit explains to YK, "I came to set because I realized I forgot my phone here. When I saw the sprinklers on, I went to close it thinking someone switched them on by mistake. That's when I saw Sonakshi lying on the floor. I just got her inside when I hear Rohit's scream.".
Rohit thanks Sumit, "Main tumhara jitna thank you karun kam hai. Tum Pooja ke incident ke liye Sorry maang rae the na, Sona ko bachana in fact ek ehsaan manta hoon main tumhara. Ab main tumhe owe karta hoon meri life." saying this Rohit hurriedly picks up Sona and asks YK to take the car out and take Sona to his hospital. On the way, he calls Pulki, "Pulkit, Sona mere and YK ke saath hai and hum usko hospital la rae hai. Woh bheeg gayi hai and faint ho chuki hai, fever hai usko." , "Pulki freaks out at the hospital, "Nai jeeju. Di ko ghar le aao. Hospital gaye toh news banegi and mumma and Pari ko bhi sab pata chal jaega. Saath mein jo badnaami di ki, aapki and iss ghar ki hogi, di uss trauma se kabhi nikal nai paegi, please.." . Rohit feels guilty for his recent behavior and the lines this draws to the situation and hence, agrees with Pulkit and tells YK to take home only.
At home, everyone is in Rohit's room, trying to help him bring Sonakshi's temperature down when Naren enters with a medicine, "Rukiye Dr. Naren Sippy. Main apni wife ka dhyaan rakh sakta hoon.. Uski iss halat ke zimedaar aap hai, toh aap uske paas na aae, wohi acha hoga.. Please mere room se chale jaei..". Naren still walks ahead and puts the medicine on the bed, "Jo bhi aaj hua, uss sabke baarein mein baat hum tab karenge jab Sonakshi theek ho jaegi. Abhi uski health se important mera comfort ya tumhara ego nai hai." Naren leaves the room and so does everyone else, leaving Rohit to tend to Sonakshi.
Rohit lies down on the bed next to Sonkahsi, holding her close, rubbing her back constantly when Sonakshi gains a bit of her senses, "Rohit..". Rohit jumps with joy and turns towards Sonakshi, "Sona.. tum theek ho na? Kahin pain ho raha hai? Koi problem ho rai hai?". Sonakshi let's her hand fall on his face, "Ab toh tum mujhe sapno mein mehsoos bhi hone lage ho.. Tum Delhi mein ho, mujhse nafrat karte ho, mujhe chodke chale gaye, aur mujhe lag raha hai yahin hoon.. Koi nai, main aise bhi khush hoon, kahin toh tum mere saath ho.." saying so, Sonakshi sleeps off again, burying herself further in Rohit's arms, leaving Rohit with tears down his face, "Main tumse nafrat kabhi nai kar sakta. Main toh tumhare bina saas bhi leta hoon toh aisa lagta hai ki iss heart surgeon ko khud heart attack aa raha ho.. Maine tumhe bahut hurt kiya hai. Ab main hi sab theek bhi karunga.. Vaada raha..".
Rohit kisses Sonakshi on her forehead, hugs her close to him and let's sleep take him over, with a new resolve to tell Sonakshi the whole truth and then be by her side, just like he promised, against the world and against his own father, protecting her from the storm to come...
