I keep reading that Rohit is always breaking Sona’s heart. Now I can only think of two instances but I’m wondering if I missed anything.
- When he asks her to be his fake girlfriend- Rohit has no idea Sona has feelings for him. At the point, it’s honestly not that obvious. If he was conscious during the Pune track, then yes he would have to be dumb not to realize she loves him. But for him, it’s asking a friend for a favor. Granted he wasn’t very kind when asking but we have all taken our friends for granted at one point or another. I remember having a lengthy convo with a friend once about taking each other for granted and we fought/didn’t talk for days, post which we learned to appreciate each other more and our friendship became much healthier. The point is, it does happen in most friendships.
- Phone call after visarjan- Rohit was 100% wrong here! I won’t try to justify him but somewhere I feel like his anger was not driven by forgetting Raima’s bday. It was more about his growing and intense feelings for Sona. I feel like it always come down to Sona because she is his first truek love. I wrote an entire post on this episode so won’t go into more details here.
Now this isn’t a post justifying Rohit. I just want to understand why we feel Rohit will always break Sona’s heart. I don’t feel positive about the upcoming track but I want to understand all aspects and watch the actual episodes before getting upset at the makers.
During the fashion show fiasco, Rohit did not know Sona and she didn’t have feelings for him. She gave it back to him each and every time! So that doesn’t really count but I guess it gives us an idea of how Rohit is when angry. Perhaps that’s what makes us nervous?
But then, Rohit fully supported her during the Mhatre track without knowing what she did for Pooja. I said this in another post as well, aside from the phone call before the church scene, I feel like Rohit and Sona have always supported one another after becoming friends. Unlike other shows, he doesn’t keep hurting and abusing her nor does she do the same. Instead, they truly care for one another and don’t shy away from accepting that.
Rohit is firm on his decision and beliefs. He realizes when he is wrong. Of course, he has lots to apologize for but I feel like his character isn’t the typical male lead (so far). Will the makers surprise us in a good way by repeating what they did during the Mhatre track? By keeping Rohit’s character as someone who isn’t swayed easily by what anyone else says?
Now having said that, Rohit becomes really irrational and reckless when it comes to Raima so will that drive how he reacts here? But on the other hand, he is very protective of Sona. He can’t stand seeing her in trouble. So how will he react? Everything hinges on his reaction and on what really happened that night.
I feel like unless the writers suddenly lose their brains, they should know what the fandom feels across the board. What we want is what they have been delivering so far! It’s what has been working for the show! The trp’s have been consistent and the fan base keeps increasing.
There are so many ways they can make this track beautiful! But there is only one true way to mess up the show. Will they risk picking that one nasty route for trp’s or actually live up to their promises and add the right kind of drama along the way, keeping fans hooked and maybe even seeing a jump in trp’s?
I feel like either this show will change how I view ITV or just reaffirm my belief that I should never get attached to an ITV show again!
Coming back to the main point, can Rohit really be okay after breaking Sona’s heart? Is it true that he is always breaking her heart? Will he insult her and walk away with Raima? Or will he actually have a heart to heart with Sona and ask her what her side of the story is?
We have see Sona walk away in a dignified manner knowing that she is right (first time she came to Sippy Mansion). We have also seen her sacrificing nature. How will Sona react this time?
The writers have all the right resources! Can they for once just get this right!! Let me know what you guys think :)
