Rohit Breaking Sona’s Heart?

I keep reading that Rohit is always breaking Sona’s heart. Now I can only think of two instances but I’m wondering if I missed anything.

  1. When he asks her to be his fake girlfriend- Rohit has no idea Sona has feelings for him. At the point, it’s honestly not that obvious. If he was conscious during the Pune track, then yes he would have to be dumb not to realize she loves him. But for him, it’s asking a friend for a favor. Granted he wasn’t very kind when asking but we have all taken our friends for granted at one point or another. I remember having a lengthy convo with a friend once about taking each other for granted and we fought/didn’t talk for days, post which we learned to appreciate each other more and our friendship became much healthier. The point is, it does happen in most friendships.
  2. Phone call after visarjan- Rohit was 100% wrong here! I won’t try to justify him but somewhere I feel like his anger was not driven by forgetting Raima’s bday. It was more about his growing and intense feelings for Sona. I feel like it always come down to Sona because she is his first truek love. I wrote an entire post on this episode so won’t go into more details here.

Now this isn’t a post justifying Rohit. I just want to understand why we feel Rohit will always break Sona’s heart. I don’t feel positive about the upcoming track but I want to understand all aspects and watch the actual episodes before getting upset at the makers.

During the fashion show fiasco, Rohit did not know Sona and she didn’t have feelings for him. She gave it back to him each and every time! So that doesn’t really count but I guess it gives us an idea of how Rohit is when angry. Perhaps that’s what makes us nervous?

But then, Rohit fully supported her during the Mhatre track without knowing what she did for Pooja. I said this in another post as well, aside from the phone call before the church scene, I feel like Rohit and Sona have always supported one another after becoming friends. Unlike other shows, he doesn’t keep hurting and abusing her nor does she do the same. Instead, they truly care for one another and don’t shy away from accepting that.

Rohit is firm on his decision and beliefs. He realizes when he is wrong. Of course, he has lots to apologize for but I feel like his character isn’t the typical male lead (so far). Will the makers surprise us in a good way by repeating what they did during the Mhatre track? By keeping Rohit’s character as someone who isn’t swayed easily by what anyone else says?

Now having said that, Rohit becomes really irrational and reckless when it comes to Raima so will that drive how he reacts here? But on the other hand, he is very protective of Sona. He can’t stand seeing her in trouble. So how will he react? Everything hinges on his reaction and on what really happened that night.

I feel like unless the writers suddenly lose their brains, they should know what the fandom feels across the board. What we want is what they have been delivering so far! It’s what has been working for the show! The trp’s have been consistent and the fan base keeps increasing.

There are so many ways they can make this track beautiful! But there is only one true way to mess up the show. Will they risk picking that one nasty route for trp’s or actually live up to their promises and add the right kind of drama along the way, keeping fans hooked and maybe even seeing a jump in trp’s?

I feel like either this show will change how I view ITV or just reaffirm my belief that I should never get attached to an ITV show again!

Coming back to the main point, can Rohit really be okay after breaking Sona’s heart? Is it true that he is always breaking her heart? Will he insult her and walk away with Raima? Or will he actually have a heart to heart with Sona and ask her what her side of the story is?

We have see Sona walk away in a dignified manner knowing that she is right (first time she came to Sippy Mansion). We have also seen her sacrificing nature. How will Sona react this time?

The writers have all the right resources! Can they for once just get this right!! Let me know what you guys think :)

Nice post.

I believe at that precise moment Rohit will not completely turn his back from Sona.

He will keep Sonakshi away from Raima coz the way she fainted in that spoiler pic but going by the past instances he too will do his detective work to know actual involvement of Sona in Raima's accident.

What intrigues me about the track is why Sona doesn't recognise Raima but Raima does? I feel it was not just a hit and run case also we are 80% confirmed that Karan (sona's ex) was also involved in it.

I totally feel he won't break her heart but also the past track of ITV has not been very impressive and that's why most of us fear he'll break Sona's heart but again, I really wanna believe in CVs and trust the process.

Beautiful post indeed. You always give different perspective to think. ❤️

Seeing the new promo I think there is more then just an accident.. Because if it would had been just an accident then she wouldn't had known Sonakshi's name and Sona would had been scared of driving remembering the accident and Sona not identifying her is the most intriguing part..

Omg your post is word! I was thinking of making one on the exact same lines. Rohit though imperfect isn't bad. Don't know why everyone here paint him black. His flaws, which are natural, make him react to situations. He isn't wrong.

Love your Post.

Take a bow frm me for these lines🙌

Jst wnt to add. Fandom's situation right now is jst same like Rohit that visaarjan night. He ws struggling betwn his feelings nd we now betwn wat we wnt nd wat we will b getting..Aftr such a long time people r seeing such a hatke character Dr Rohit sippy. He is really luved. But at the same time the channel nd makers have some terrible history of changing tracks nd characters, so jst cant trust them.. That's y basically all r going bonkers

You've put this as marvellously as ever. Totally agree with all your points.

This thing has been in my mind since the church scene but I just kept it to myself. Now, I'm going to be brave and voice out my unpopular opinion.

The night when Sona is asked to leave KPK and Rohit goes looking for her, Sona takes out all her anger and frustration on Rohit. She even asks him to go away and leave her alone and that not everything will be according to how he wants everytime. Rohit was taken aback for a moment but then he stayed there and consoled her.

We all understood Sona then and nobody was angry at her for shouting at Rohit, for two reasons, I think:

1. We were able to sympathise with Sona's pain and anger at being asked to leave her show. Something very important to her was taken away from her.

2. The conflict was resolved in the same episode. The episode didn't end with Rohit's shocked expression. In fact, we saw him consoling her and that took away the focus away from Sona's diatribe.

Coming to church scene and Rohit shouting at Sona before that, Rohit had a sudden realization that he forgot something which was very important to him. Like you'd mentioned in one of your previous posts, he didn't want to shout at Sona. Her unintentionally bringing up the fake bf gf thing caused him to pour out all his frustration. He did acknowledge later that it was his guilt which was making him lash out at people.

Now, I am not saying what Rohit did is justified. It did hurt Sona. But I just feel like we have been dreading Raima entering in their lives so much that we ourselves become super sensitive whenever she's mentioned. We end up blaming Rohit more than he deserves, whenever Raima is in the picture.

We are all dreading Sona's potential heartbreak, but I'm sort of feeling sorry for Rohit also. He found somebody he can connect with after four years and is finally thinking of moving on, and Raima is just waiting by the door to force him into another guilt trip.

I don't think that Rohit, Sona or even Raima are responsible for all this. This is just an unfortunate situation.

Like you said, hope the makers know that there is more than one way to handle this situation with the awesome characters they have created.

In my mind this track was bound to happen since day 1 of the show and I'm still trusting the makers to handle this track gracefully, given how they must have planned it with the original concept of the show. 🤞

I think Rohit will not break Sona’s heart, atleast not after confessing to her that she is more than a friend to him. Whatever his shortcomings may be but I think he is a man of his word.

Only thing that bothers me though is his irrational behaviour when it comes to Raima.

They say love brings out the best in you and if you see Sona brings out the best in him, he is saner and calmer with her. He even noticed this difference when he once mentioned that “ tum kitni alag ho Raima se”

I truly feel he won’t break her heart he will stand by her come what may.

Hope the CV’s don’t ruin my conviction 🤞
