Hey guys, I'm new to this forum. I was watching Shararat on Hotstar when I suddenly noticed this serial. It was new and I don't know what made me click on it. Then I binged watched all the episodes because I liked it so much. My favourite scene has to be Rohit watching the serial and getting exasperated. You won't believe how many times me and my friends did that.

Let's talk about the stuff I liked-

1. The lead actress actually has a career. In every other show, the protagonist has non existent careers. Either they work for the ML or stop working altogether after meeting him.

2. KVG. His comic timings and expressions are spot on.

3. Breaking of the fourth wall. I have always loved this concept, especially in deadpool. However I wish they were more comical.

4. Netra supporting Sonakshi. It's very rare to see two women supporting each other on television. Usually all the other female characters are romantic rivals or they desire to destroy the FL.

5. Sonakshi and Rohit's pairing. They are extremely funny and I love their nok jhoks. But I just love that both of them are so mature. Both of them are extremely successful in their respective fields and are responsible adults. Usually in the serials, the ML is a spoilt brat who basically does nothing except party. Rohit is also not like a typical business tycoon who has severe anger issues and keeps breaking stuff. He's pretty normal and chill.

6. Sonakshi has no problem walking and maintaining her balance. She doesn't keep tripping and falling into the ML's arms. Also her clothes don't get stuck in his watch. Maybe it's because she has his watch 😂

What I didn't like-

1. I've always said this. I don't like characters who are Mary Sue. Sonakshi is too perfect. She's nice to everyone. It's okay if she's nice and hardworking but she's perfect in every way? Maybe she could have been a little bit self involved or superficial. It's okay to have faults. When will the TV industry accept this? And why are only the female characters shown to be perfect? The male leads get away with everything. Even Rohit is prejudiced (kinda like Mr. Darcy, huh?).

2. Rohit's and Sonakshi's mom's prejudice against TV actresses. I feel like they work harder than film stars. They keep playing the same character for years and keep shooting every day whereas a film shoot gets over in two or three months. Maybe after Sonakshi goes missing and Rohit finds her, he'll apologise. I don't think he actually disrespects her, it's just his stupid prejudice.

More or less, I loved the show and I'm gonna keep watching it. Atleast for 3 months. Then they usually mess it up.

Atleast 3 months, then they usually mess it up. Why is this so true? 😆 If only ITV serials had the Kdrama format.. Or be a finite series.. So many new faces would have had the chance to shine and such good content would have been put forth. Sigh

And I agree with the fact that they could have made Sonakshi a little bit indulgent. Usually the females are shown to be 'perfect' so that they can easily be victimised. But atleast she stood her grounds when Rohit trashtalked her and asked that man to be removed from the function.. Win win? I will take what I can get 😆

Edit: Also shararat? What a blast from the past. 😛 welcome to the forum!

I saw the scene where Rohit was getting exasperated on twitter and got hooked on the show. Such a cool concept after a long time. I love that both the leads have actual professions.

Agree about Sona being a little too good so far.. but the show just started so maybe we can see some shades later on. As long as they show some realistic conflicts between the leads where both people have a reasonable point I am good with it.

So far its been a pretty fun lighthearted easy show to watch. Hopefully it stays that way.. trying not to have high expectations though as Indian tv tends to take turns I don't enjoy in order to keep the ratings up. But I really think they have a good shot here at making it even with the Trp aunties.

I think there are few people (if not a lot) who are just good by nature and trust me when I say that because I have had few of em in my life. Sonakshi isn't someone with no flaws. She has. She can't move on from her past and that is some sort of flaw if I see from my POV. She also is little bit of herself like when she said she looks good and Rohit can compliment her etc. That's not flaw but that's more human, to be little bit of yourself. She's good with everyone because she knows everyone likes her. If not hate, she doesn't really like Rohit because he doesn't like her and that's human tendancy right? She's vulnerable too and loves her star status because she does use it to get out of tricky situation a lot of times. So, I believe, she isn't all and all Miss goody two shoes. 😆
