CHAHAT FULFILS HER CHAHAT (DREAM)

Chahat Khanna, a stage artist-turned-model-turned- actress is anxiously waiting for her debut film ' Ek Main Ek Tum' directed by Mohan Sharma and produced by Deepak Bengani, but this is not the first time when she is facing the camera. Earlier too she had acted in Cadbury, Samsung and Kotak ads. Her debut is scheduled to be released in August this year. Chahat is confident that she would stay in the industry for a long time due to her talent instead of body exposure like many of other stars. SMASHITS caught this Cadbury girl on the sets of 'Ek Main Ek Tum' in Dehradun.

Excerpts of a recent chat with her:

When did you feel to join Bollywood?

Becoming a Bollywood actress was my dream since I was 15 years old. After doing a lot of stage performances, commercial ads and tele serials, which were also appreciated by the people, I felt that I should move ahead in this line. So I decided to join Bollywood.

What's your role in 'Ek Main Ek Tum'?

In 'Ek Main Ek Tum', I am playing the role of a serious girl, as I am in my real life. That's why I am very much satisfied with my acting.

How did you feel during the shoot with new comers?

It was very nice. The director and the producer were also very good. Rahul, who is the hero of the movie, always came late and with new excuses. By and large, the atmosphere was very friendly.

What is the USP of the movie?

This is a romantic movie with a lot of comedy. Every department has done its job very well. The important thing in every movie is its music. The same true here too. The music is very good. Rais Bharatiya and Bali Bramhabhatt have given the music. It has seven songs, which are picturized on me.

Beside this, I am doing producer Ishaan Tiwari's 'Rasgulle' with Juhi Chawla and Irfaan Khan. I am playing the lead role in it. And the other one is Jenith's movie titled 'The Film' with Mahima Chaudhry. This is a comedy where seven strugglers try to associate with the filmi world to get offers, but in vain.

What do you check before signing any film?

First of all, I would check my role. Then I will ensure that no vulgar scenes are picturized on me, and I also check that my dress is proper. I am very much against the body exposure.

But body exposure is today's trend in Bollywood, how you would stay for a long time?

I think if you have a talent people will definitely appreciate your role. The audience will not bother about your clothes if your acting is good. The audience remembers hot and vulgar scenes only for a short period. But if your acting is excellent it is sure that the audience will never forget you.

What are the difficulties you faced as a newcomer?

As the producer and the director of the movie were very nice and the atmosphere of the shooting was quite comfortable, so I didn't face any difficulty.

What are your hobbies?

Writing is my hobby. I love to write poem, stories and songs.

Oh well Chahat is looking pretty in these pictures 😛 and I don't knew that she even did films 😛 ..

I think actingwise she is average to good in patches but overall she will hv to improve quite a lot 😊

its good that she's sticking to her morals. i don't know why bollywood is trying to be like hollywood. you don't have to wear bikinis or vulgar clothing in order for you to survive in the industry. at the end, your acting should count and not peoples d!**s!!
