Surveen Chawla does have grave reasons for quitting 'Kajjal' (Sony). Broach the topic of 'Kajjal' and she doesn't mince words. "There wasn't just one but several reasons for me to quit.

Stories about me having an affair with a married man—Apurva Agnihotri (co-star in 'Kajjal') was not acceptable to me. It upset me no end and was also making me uncomfortable on the sets."

She also admits not being creatively satisfied, "I would have still carried on with those stories had I been happy with my role. Though it started off well, it gradually got monotonous. In the end, I was completely bored of playing Kajjal."

But did she speak to the makers about her dissatisfaction? "It was of no use. This is a typical scenario in television today. The initial months are fulfilling but as the show progresses the quality suffers." Surveen also cites health problems.

"The hectic schedules did take a toll on my health. I was on drips for three days in July but had to report for shooting. It was not worth it—the unnecessary stories, creative dissatisfaction and my health problems were not the things I wanted in my career. So I decided to part ways."

So what happens to the show? "They have taken a reincarnation angle, which I certainly didn't want to do. I have taken the right decision. The parting was mutual."

What is she planning next? "Right now, I am just taking a well-needed break. A talent-based reality show would be fun to do. Let's hope the best comes my way," she ends.

Aww Poor Surveen! But we all loved her as Kaajal, and for us .. she is only the true Kaajal! We appreciated her work greatly! Shes a fabulous actor, and I wish all the best for her! 😳 😳

Poor surveen..having to work even though she was sick..and her role went from a bubbly young girl to something totally differnt..don't blame her for being dissatisfied!

she did the right thing but i really do miss her as kaajjal cause she was certainly amazing

Awwww I completely agree with her point of view 👏 👏 👏 ...U Can't work in a serial if u r not creatively satisfied with your role ..and thats the main reason why both Apu and Surveen had left the serial

Anyways hopefully they will come together in some other show 😳

Jyoti, I find this one thing really confusing, and that is the Apu Sur affair stories. Well, in a previous article, Sur said the main reason to quit was the pathetic storyline and she was kind of happy and talking about her mom too, but now she is saying it's both the pathetic storyline and those rumours, and in another article, she said she doesn't let gossip and baseless rumours about her, so Surveen mentioning her reason to quit for those affair stories, is it really true or is it just a rumour by the media people?😕 Can someone help?😕

Great decision taken by Surveen. Then again good thinking on her part. If something doesn't appeal, whats the use of continuing on with it....

I only wish her all the best for the future.

I can understand her point of view. For the last few months the storyline had gone all over the place and I never got over the fact they made her work when she was ill 😕 I think she was right to quit when she wasn't happy and wish her all the best for the future.
