Kaajjal, which replaced Kaise Yeh Pyar Hai about a year ago on Sony, hasn't been able to gather as many eyeballs as the channel would have liked it to do. Apoorva Agnihotri, who plays the lead in the soap, too wasn't happy with the way the show was shaping up and recently he wanted to quit, but the producers convinced him to stay on. Unfortunately, things haven't improved and the channel wants it to shut shop. But Sony's business head Albert Almeida denies that Kaajjal is going off air. "If you believe rumours, then most of our shows are going off air. Kaajjal is not being shut down and Apoorva has not opted out of the show. He has taken a break for some personal reasons," says Almeida, adding, "The show will be on air for some time at least." This according to sources isn't true. Apparently Sony is looking for a suitable replacement and once it gets a new show Kaajjal will go off air. Till then Shaleen Bhanot's entry will stretch the story forward. www.deccan.com |
