More than the fact that his acting has gotten less intense, its the fact that hes tired! He's been working for so long without a break that hes tired. He deeply and desperatly needed a break. I'm sure that once hes back after his 10 day vacation, he will be fresh and new again! Because in the article it clearly said that the producction house heard no such news about Apu wanting to quit, just take a break. So once he is back, he will have that intensity back in him and ready to be in action! I'm sure of it
this is an interesting debate...and sammy would like to add her hat to it...first a neutral one...rather an impartial one...
firstly the story is about kaajjal this mad, sweet and spoilt girl from musssoorie who wants to marry the prince of her dreams....and she meets him in the most dramatic way....but she has to face the twists and turns of fate...till she can have her...man...and to that extent the story has remained true...this story wasnt about Dev or any other character....guys...to start with...so lets give the devils its due....
and yes,....it doesnt necessary has to be the first guy she meets either...now thats the twist...will she be with the first guy she meets...in this case yes...
for the sidh bhabha had predicted she will meet her prince charming today...and also her friends say that if she meets her prince then he will be hers for 7 janams...
and then the explosive meeting rest is history
now comes my APu hat on...compared to other soaps if the theme is Kaajjal, then rarely has one...seen the second lead...protogonist get some much screen space as Apu has done...one could have mistaken this soap was something like
KZK...which was both about Prerna and Anuraags kasauttii......
and APu has rightly got this space, for he is such a talented, multifactted actor, the perfect match for a raw inexperienced Sur, who was still trying to find her feet in the industry after the heady success of KTH....while APu is a senior artist like Ratiji....his face was brining in the sponsors and fans....it was his charisma which was selling the show....so Kaajjal in spite of being the main character many a times took a back step...
remember the scenes, when he chucked her out or....tried...run her down...or rescued her....she was shown...shivering, stammering....all the time,...d...d..dev...s...sir...he dominated the screen with his sheer personality...and yes i admit...it could have been varied and made his role more interesting for he must have been tired of just looking stern....or angry...
then the mahadasha phase...where he tried to break out of the mould by...showin some signs of fun loving....

the makers probably thought...they have to bring it back to kaajjal...for it had slipped away to become DK...and their love story....and more about DPS...remember what did we get to see about SP...buaji...it was always the Singh family....KA or NT mom...arre...Kaajjal ke parivaar ka kya...apart from hottie...and briefly SP...in the end he was reduced...to an extra...how much did we see of her family...in KTH...also same thing happnd...and so did Kkusum....while in Kutumbh...the girls family disappeared literally after the wedding....
so it comes back to Kaajjal as the swayamwar begins...would Dhruv be new prince charming...naaah...that failed...he couldnt take her rejection even 2 mins...so back to prince charming one....
and thats were they comepletely messed it...my APu hat is on
instead of showing an abrupt end to a budding romance post Dhruv...they bring in Raju...now why not bring in someone like shivansh here...
if they wanted APu only to come back....they could have done a ML on him...and have Kaju...tryin to bring his memory back....as DPS...not some rustic...which he looked so out of sorts playing....so thats were it slipped and kept on downhill....
and then when it seemed it was repairing with Raju...turning into DPs...the NT mom exit...and the extremes of anger...APu would have cringed as an actor at that..stupid, crazy unreasonable twist of a character...which had totally transformed under Kaajjals love but suddenly back to square one..no depth....
he must have lost intrest then....then the goat track must have been the last track.....now that takes the cake....no brains at all...even sur seemed she had lost inrest an djust wanted to complete her contract...
at this point they could have used a better track..or taken it back to mussoorie...maybe not a ML...but rooothna manana...whne DPS fins out the truth about Karan and runs back to Kaju....which aggain...sticks to the original theme where kaju...now has to forgive DPS....and he has to manao her...would have been apt.....
and APu could have perhaps...done a makeover there...and they could ahve added some meat to his character....fun, ...masti...as he tries to win Kaju back..amidst holding hands...pulling her back and jumpin off cliffs....
in the end...i think APu saw this whole pplot as being juvenile...he was a man in his 30s...not a kid in teens....too old to jump off cliffs...i found it funny when he tries to jump off the building to convince kaju...
so...yes i agree with kashish and jyo..apu has had a raw deal...in a way/...yet...to be fair...he has got more than his a fair share of screen space...for the story was about Kaajjal....
and now with his dwindling intrest they are trying to see if they can run the show without APu...thats why i feel this shivansh is brought in......
but i am like the rest of the bhootnis have decided....if aPu goes i am packing my bags too....for the sheer torture os seeing adi goat and shivansh is unbearable....
