Part 21
She tightens her arms around his neck and hugs him one more time. Dev could feel her arms tightening, as if she would never let him go, and he smiles,
"Kya baat hai, bara pyar aa raha hai?" he says with his head buried in her hair. The words bring a beautiful shyness in her whole being, and her grip automatically loosens.
"nahi nahi, chornay ko tu nahi kaha," he pulls her back into his arms.
"ab tu sari umr aisay hi rehna hai." He says with immense love, and Kaajjal's heart smiles, for her doubts are now over, and her love is shining again.
"Kaajjal," he whispers,
"Hmmm" she hums
"aur kitna dur rehna ho ga humhain? Mujh say aur intezaar nahi hota." she can feel his body tapering with the need of holding her and loving her completely.
"Mujh say bhi …" she whispers, and suddenly holds her breath … 'o gosh what did I just say' she feels she is going to die with this shyness, and Dev can feel it in her. He breaks their embrace and looks into her eyes,
"Main us raat ka besabri say intezar karoon ga, jab tum meri bahoon main ho gi, aur hamary darmiyaan koee nahi aayay ga … koee bhi nahi," he has a very passionate yet dreamy expression on his face, as if he is already lost in that moment. The husky voice, the passion, the emotion, the desire, Kaajjal looses herself in his voice. He holds her cheek in one palm, closes his eyes and rests his forehead on hers. Their lips are inches apart and they are breathing each other. Both are lost in each other's fragrance, and living each other. None wants this moment to end, but a car - passing by, brings them back to senses.
They take a deep breath and moves away from each other, still trying to get hold of themselves.
"Ab tum jao Kaajjal," Dev says with difficulty, for he knows that he wants her sooo much right now that if this moment prolongs, he might end up taking her back home. Kaajjal can hear this seriousness and intensity in his voice, for she herself, wants him sooo bad that she does not care about anything. But papa – she has to go. She bends forwards, and kisses on his cheek,
"I love you Dev,"
"I love you too Kaajjal," Once again their eyes lock and he says in a husky tone,
"I'll see you in the morning. Mera intezaar karna." Kaajjal nods and steps out of the car with her bag.
Kaajjal is lying on the hospital sofa, deep in her thoughts, ashamed on her own self for not trusting Dev. 'how could I do this, how???' she can't believe herself. 'Mujhay maaf kar daina Dev,' she pleads in her heart, 'ab kabhi tum pay shak nahi karoon gi. Kabhi nahi!!! I promise ….' And while thinking about Dev and her undying love for him, she drifts to sleep.
Scene changes
"Doctor, is he ok now," the doctors comes in the morning for checkup and Kaajjal is curious.
"Yes he is fine, you can take him home," the doctor replies, "but remember what I said, and take good care of him, especially for the first four weeks." Kaajjal nods, for she remembers that the doctor said he has some head injuries and no strain or stress should be given to him. None at all.
"I'll take-care doctor." Kaajjal looks at the doctor and he leaves.
"Ab aap nay sirf araam karna hai papa," Kaajjal turns her gaze to Satya. "waisay bhi, thank God college main vacation chal rahi hain tu you can completely rest."
"Lekin tumharay baghair mera dil kaisay lagay ga beta" Satya says with a sad by content look, and Kaajjal's heart melts.
"Papa" she comes close to him, not knowing what to say
"Par yehi sapna tu dekha tha mainne aur tumhari mama nay." He holds her mehndi walay hands,
"tumharay hathon main us insaan ki mehndi dekhnay ka jis say tum duniya main sab say zyada pyar karo, aur jo tum say duniya main sab say zyada pyar karay." Satya is still holding her hands with all the love for his daughter, and Dev enters the room. He has overheard their conversation and his heart has melted as well. How a girl has to leave her house and every thing behind her and move to a new house, make new relations, and live a new life. And how willingly she does that. Making her husband the center of her life and every happiness.
Satya looks at Dev and smiles,
"namastay papa, kaisay hain aap?" Dev looks at Satya than Kaajjal, than back to Satya and asks with a heart-warming smile, and Kaajjal looks at him.
"Ab behtar hoon" Satya replies smilingly. But Kaajjal; she is lost in this handsome man, freashly bathed, dressed in a white suit and a purple and black striped shirt. His top-two shirt buttons are open, and his chest is peeping out of the hollow V-opening. His manly scent is hitting her nostrils and driving her crazy. Oh this smell, this scent, she wants to run into his arms, but ahhhhhh papa …. J Dev senses Kaajjal's intense gaze and looks at her. All of the sudden Kaajjal drops her eyes as if she is caught, and trying to hide. Dev smiles. How he wants to hold her and tell her,
'main tu ab tumhara hi hoon, jitna jee chahay dekho. Tumhari pyar bhari nazroorn main hi tu meray jeenay ki wajah hai.'
there is a silence in the room for some moments, and then he speaks,
'Kaajjal, I have talked to the doctor, and signed the discharge papers, so shall we go?"
"Beta, wo, mera bill. Give me the slip beta, I'll pay." Satya interrupts
"Ab aap nay paraya kar diya papa." Dev says with immense sincerity,
"Beta bhi kehtay hain, aur formality bhi."
"Lekin beta," Satya insists.
"Betay ki baat maan li jati hai papa." He holds Kaajjal's bag,
"ab chalain." He smiles and gets hold of Satya's arms to support him to walk.
Kaajjal is seeing and hearing this conversation between Satya and Dev, and all of a sudden, she feels her heart soaring with respect for Dev. She feels like bending down and touching his feet again and showing him - what he means to her, and how she appreciates his care and concern for her papa. She saves this moment in her heart to relive it when they are alone, showing him what he means to her.
Scene change
"Dev, hum kahan ja rahay hain." Satya asks while Dev is driving.
"yeh tu tumharay ghar ka rasta hai?" Satya is confused.
"ji papa, aglay 4 haftay you are staying with us." Dev says, and Kaajjal who is sitting next to Dev looks at him in surprise.
"what? nahi nahi beta, how can I stay there. No no, please drop me at my place." Satya is at loss of words. At this Dev looks at papa in the rear view mirror, and then Kaajjal, for he knows Kaajjal has questions in her mind as well.
"papa, Kaajjal, the doctor did tell me about the next four weeks being critical and we can't leave you at your place, without someone to take care of you." Kaajjal feels her heart soaring with love and respect for him, who just listens to her every thought without her saying a single word. This is exactly what was bothering her for the whole night, and she was wondering what to do. She just wants to hug him very very tight right now, but she saves this moment as well in her heart to relive it when they are alone.
"beta Hottie hoti hai na," Satya is still insisting.
"papa, Hottie waisay hi apni job main busy rehti hain, aap bilkul akailay ho jaain gay." dev insists as well.
"lekin beta,"
"papa, please, beta bhi kehtay hain aur betay ki baat bhi nahi mantay." Dev tries to give him assurance.
"lekin NT bhabi kya sochain gi." Satya is confused.
"kuch bhi nahi, she herself has asked me to bring you home. Infact your room is ready and everything is set." Dev looks at Satya in the backview mirror and then shifts his gaze to Kaajjal and back to the road.
"Bas papa, ab aap araam karain. Don't stress your self." Kaajjal looks at Satya and assures him with her eyes, and very reluctantly, Satya agrees.
Scene change
The house is getting ready for tonight's party. People are moving here and there, flowers, catering, arrangement, styling; every department had its own set of specialist working on it. Everyone is sitting in the living lounge and having tea.
"NT ji, aap logon nay itna takalluf kiya, I will be ok at my place, really." Satya looks at NT.
"bhai sahib, yeh bhi tu aap ka ghar hai. Aap araam say yahan rahiyay. Hum sab hain yahan aap ka khayal rakhnay kay liyay, wahan aap akailay hotay tu Kaajjal kay saath humhain bhi paraishani lagi rehti." NT says with a smile,
"aur sach poochain tu aap kay yahan rehnay main hamara hi faida hai," NT adds and everyone gives her a surprised look.
"bhaee faida yeh hai kay hamari Kaajjal ko aap say milnay kay liyay ab kaheen jana bhi nahi pray ga, aur mujhay har waqt is ka muskurata hwa chehra nazar aata rahay ga." NT looks at Kaajjal very lovingly.
"ab kya kahoon bhai sahib, hamaray ghar ki ronaq hai Kaajjal, aur Dev kay chehray ki bhi." Dev smiles at this with a sweet look on his face and looks at Kaajjal, who is giving a blushing smile as well; everyone is happy to see them happy and smilling.
