Part 30 : Kaajjal is Pregnant
This DK FF is permanently dedicated to my closest IF friends Jyo and autumn for their constant encouragement…as this was for them…and also for all DK family members who are groaning at the present turn of events in the DK drama…I hope to cheer them up each weekend…
Back to Mr Kulkarni … and the courtroom…….
He….tells the judge…Now for the most shocking news…I have papers to prove that the man who was killed two days ago is not Dev Pratap singh….theere is a shocked silence….in the court room….the judge frowns…what is going on…who is died then…if that man is not DPS….Mr kulkarni waves some papers and passes it on to the court clerk….Raju Rangeela a small time crook…who shares Mr DPS looks but not his fortune….Kaajjal must have stumbled upon him sometime….and hatched this plan…she makes a great Drama at Radiocity about searching for a dead Mr DPs then suddenly disappears…when she gets back …bingo…Dev is in tow…
and thats impossible ……..for the police, the hospital the morgue all have proved that the corpse was DPS….of course…the sweet and innocent face of Miss Kaajjal Behl…..convinces the family…except two people who love him the most Mr Karan and AMeesha Pratap Singh….they find oddities about the man and stalked him…in fact it is due to their vigilance that we have evidence…this tape your honour is the first….Mr Kulkarni puts on a video…Rajus conversation with Kaju at Radiocity….
finally….the audio tape where Raju reveals his kidnapping plan….
Mr Kulkarni turns like a stage performer…he has his audience gasping for more…even the judge is stunned and looks at kaju in doubt…hottie is ashen…she sobs softly…SP looks… on…silently…his face….a frozen mask….
Buaji had told him that until Kaju is released she will be at the Mandir…she looks at GB…sitting there impassively….nahin jaaoongi yahaan se…bahut pyaar kiya hai meri bacchi ne tujh se…tum usse ye sazaa nahin de sakthe,…mere phool se bacchi par kaisa ganda ilzaam laga rahe hai….nahin…mein yaheen tum hare insaaf ka intezaar karoongi…yaheen….she sits there resolutely…..
Mr Kulkarni now waves his wand finally….and tells the judge…now before I call for the final witness,,….Miss Chameli Gulbarga who knew Mr Raju intimately….in fact Mr SP was lying when he said…DPS was marrying his daughter…sach toh ye hai…that Mrs NT PS…changed her mind and decided to marry him the so called DPS to chameli a small time Dhabhewaali from Rajgani…a point to be noted your honour…that this now dead man agrees without ado…and it ties in with that audio conversation….he knew he had to act fast…..
Kaajjal arranged with the same thugs to have herself kidnapped…and raju…of course was waiting….they take 50 crores against 25 demanded earlier…Mr Karans witness….and yes there is afight between the 2 lovers….Kaajjal and Raju…so Kaajjal pushes him off the cliff and would have run off if Karan hadn't restrained her….the rest we know…..i appeal for a strong sentence for this double murder…now….a final witness to prove the deceased was Raju Rangeela….
…..i now call upon…Chameli gulbargaa….chameli gulbargaa haazir ho…the clerk announces….everybody looks around…craning their necks…
At this point Kaju stands up slowly…her face is paler than usual….her head is whirling…..she starts to sway,….in her delutionary state…she mumbles…Raju Rangeela…meine maara….raju ….and the inspector luckily grabs her before she can fall…The judge….looks alarmed…case is adjourned…someone please call for the doctor…the girl needs help…..SP runs out of his seat but the constable restrains him…he sobs…my daughter …..kaajjal…let me go to her please….Hottie is crying…holding SP… KA exchange glances..Ameeshas long suffering….OMG…aur ek naatak…ab kyaa…
Meanwhile…a doctor is called for….the judge says…take her to my chambers…everybody forgets the witness…for the time being………the doctor examines Kaju looks at the judge…SP and hottie manage to edge inside too …even if held back by the constable…"She is Pregnant…and needs medical attention ASAP…she is dehyderated…if she doesn't get help…uske jaan ko khatra ho saktha hai" the doctor looks at the Judge who nods…he instructs the inspector who is also tunned to call for an ambulance…….there is shocked silence…SP reels back in shock…he is white as as sheet….trembling…..unable to cry even….Hottie is shocked….they stare at an unconscious Kaajjal….silently….an ambulance is called for….Kaju is taken to the hospital…word spread like wild fire…KA are shocked….Kaajjal Pregnant……the judge postpones the case to Monday….till Kaajjal can get better and order she is shifted to a hospital under surveillance……Kaajjal is taken to the same hospital asNT mom…who is on another floor…..
Dev sits up…Kaajjal…..this time fully conscious..he was …breathing hard…unmindful of his arm in sling he gets into his shoes…and tries to stand up……but a bout of dizziness hits him and he sits down again…cursing…Dammit….he touches his head…Sannata is there…Dev takes a deep breathe….what the hell is going on….Inspector….where the hell am I…am I on drugs on something…Veer comes in then….he runs to his brother and hugs him…….Dev is stunned to see his brother at first then hugs him back…slowly Veer tells him about NT mom and Kaajjal…the blood drains…out of DEvs face…..for a moment his throat is working but no words come…..then he hugs Veer and breaks down….his body..shuddering…..M…m…Mom….Veer Consoles him…she will be alright bro…I told her you are alive…Sannata…head jerks at Veer…he frowns…who else…knows…I told you Veer Sir…..Dev slowly moves away….he is ashen…for a moment his mind is blank….I have to go to the hospital…..somehow…Dammit….Karan……I will kill you if anything happens to Mom or Kaajjal…..he is angry, crying and distraught at the same time……Veer holds him…and Dev…is straining to get away….but …trembling at the same…time….
Sannata stops him by saying…you go there now, everything will be finished…we will never be able to convict KA….and now they have a very strong case…against Kaajjal Behl….if you go in they will arrest you thinking you are Raju….or they may kill you ….or Kaajjal or even your Mom….we have to act carefully…..Dev banged his fist on his palm…Dammit…inspector…you cant expect me to…sit here….and wait…while the 2 people I love more than life itself are hanging between life and death….
Sannata, voice softens…Dev sir – just take a deep breathe and think…I know it is difficult…I can see that…but just for the sake of the people you love, do you want to see their lives at risk….that stops Dev…he sits down on the bed……Dammnnn….Dammm….inspector…my Kaajjal…Mom….tears flowing down his eyes as he recalls the horror in Kajus eyes when she cant hold on to him….Kajjal…m om….he cries again….Veer agrees with Sannata…but first Dev tell me…since how long has the police been invol,ved…if CID knows why did the police take Kajjal away…..
Sannata told Veer – as you will realize…soon…some members of the department are shamefully been bribed to distort the case…we are still investigating…this case is handled by a very able, undercover team….from Delhi…..no one in Mumbai is even aware of us…..it is a very complicated case involving some members of the medical fraternity so it is very important that no one else knows…..he looked at V eer….
We have evidence that Karan has borrowed large sums from some company in Dubai affiliated to the Don Dawood and underworls network here…he was hoping to kill Dev..sir and then pay them off once the property…was transferred to him and Ameesha….Dev face was grim, hard as if it was carved in stone……We have been tapping phones…but Karan is clever…he uses different mobiles and calls from ISD booth….to these guys…..one of the groups was hired to do the accident…Dev sir survived from….at the time I was disguised as a taxi driver…and following Dev sir….when he jumped out and POahua found him I pretended to be a taxi driver…since then my job was to follow Dev sir like a shadow…unfortunately….yesterday….my jeep was caught up in the infamous…Khandala…traffic…and I arrived half an hour late….
Dev….looks stricken…you mean I have been out for one whole day…God…he passed his hand through his hair….and Kaajjal how is she…god….what shall I do…..
Sannata…was oddly silent…..then softly….she is in shock…and has lost her memory…Dev….goes pale…Oh god…Oh god…he puts his head in his hand…in despair…God….why…..Veer puts his arms around him crying silently…Dev…Dev…please…hold yourself…..when we were young…Mom used to tell this story about the man and his sons…how many sticks tied together become strong and cant be broken….Panna Chhachi, Nandini Bhabhi they are all with us now…he looks at Sannata…Panna Chhachi wasn't convinced you are dead…she just told me you are alive and will come back soon….it was eerie….Sannata sighed…so who else knows….he takes out his mobile…Dev tells Sannata…Panna Chhachi is like my mother and Nandini bhabhi my older sister…they wont tell anybody…tremoulously he hugs his brother……thanks Veer…I am so grateful you are here….where is Pahua…
Now…Devs…rational brains start kicking in…this was no time to wallow in grief…there was work to be done …his loved ones were in danger….and were totally dependent on him…Veer told him," with his Daadi, I taught the poor boy could be at risk….god Dev…just think to go back to that woman…I cnat do it…" Dev…touches his arm…"you have to…yeh kadvaa zaher gale se uthaarna hoga"….his voice is cold….hard….clenching his hands…and they will pay…Oh…,god they will pay…
Dev wants to go to the hospital at once….Sannata returns….he has a plan….and Veer plays along…a ghost of smile on DEvs lips….it is a good idea…then his eyes clouds….in pain…oh…mom…I just desperately hope….you recover soon….I wont let you go so easy…..
Dev looks at himself in the mirror…the new makeover is interesting, he has a full beard covered partially by the turban which sat on his head. The long silk pink kurta, left open at his neck, the dark red and black lungi…and the heavy leather mojras…he tried to speak like a sikh," hmmm…Paaji…Kithe jaa riyo hai…" for a moment the old raju sparkles back in his eyes which glint like diamonds..he twirls his moustasche, but then his eyes cloud with pain…and moisten….Veer comes up to him astonished to see how different he looked…Dev…even I wouldn't have recognized you in this gear…you look the part…the 2 brother hugged each other solemnly…Sannata joins them he is disguised as an older sikh man,,,wearing a ligt brown kutra and brown lungi…his hair is deep gray with a long flowing beard…the traditional kripan hangs on a black starp around his chest.
He tells Dev…You will be playing a mute…Dev sir…both brothers were stunned…Sannata explains…your voice is a dead giveaway ( as well bhootnis know..no one else has that deadly voice….)…your family will recognize you…immediately…and that will be your acide test when you are face to face with KA…you must be quiet…at all costs…Dev sighs deeply…he sits on the bed feeling the dizzy spell come up again…Sannata nods …you definitely need that scan…Veer gives Dev a quick hug before leaving…take care bro…I will be waiting there…Dev nods…
Sannata has a truck waiting for them outside…while they are on the way, dev asks Sannata…you said the doctors are not to be trusted as anyone could be inc ahoots…with KA…then how can we…Sannata…smiled…the only time his eyes soften and he chuckles…my wife is a radiologist…she works in the scanning department. She has made your papers…and is waiting for us…the scanning room is directly above the temporary ICU unit. You will have easy access, to the main ICU which is on the same floor…
Dev…muses…who can we trust these days if our own family…betrays us so badly…sannata puts his hand on DEvs hand…Dev sir…everything will be alrite…it is only a matter of time…but for now you must be very careful….Dev nods…no time for tears…this was it….he had been saved by gannu bhaiyya…now gannu bhaiyya was taking him to his mom and beloved Kaju…for their sake he had to be brave…..he takes a deep breathe…and then mimes Raju…hehehe…Karan bhaiyya hum aa rahe hain….
