Worried: Keshwar Merchant
Since the past few days, Keshwar Merchant had not been reporting on the sets of her shows Kaajjal (Sony) and Kashmakash Zindagi Ki (DD).

Unit folks were wondering what was wrong till they were told that Keshwar was in hospital with her ailing dad.

Her father, Siraj Merchant, suffered a heart attack early Monday morning. He had just returned from Baroda after attending a wedding.

As soon as he reached home on Yari Road around 6 am, he was unable to walk and collapsed complaining of chest pain. Her mother Rizwana rushed him to the Criticare Hospital at Juhu Scheme.

At that time, Keshwar and her actor beau Hiten Paintal were in Amby Valley. They were expected to return only on Monday afternoon. Says Keshwar, "It was scary when my mother called. We rushed to Mumbai immediately."

Her businessman father had experienced chest pain while in Baroda but did not pay heed to it. But on reaching Mumbai, his pain worsened.

"When I saw him, I knew this was no ordinary pain. I just made him sit in the car and drove him to hospital," says her mother Rizwana.

Her father is now stable but still under observation.
