Meera could have been shown the significance of marriage in a different way! Jeevanlal's mom's POV was totally crappy!😕

felt so much irritated with the scene!!😡they shouldn't give encouragement to domestic violence in tv shows!!it will cause bad effect and also can reduce popularity of the show.

I wanted to make a post on this, good to know somebody already did. I was shocked, surprised & super angry seeing today's episode 🤢🤢

First of all agreed Prithvi wanted to teach JL's father a lesson for what he did, but tying him up in a bori was a little too extreme i felt. And Prithvi who tried to kill Meera, threw her in the well, burnt her surroundings, man-handling her most of the time, pointing a gun at her just before he went on moral policing is 😲 😕

What are CVs trying to prove by making JL's mother say such corny bulls**t 😡 when the country is going through turmoil of violence against women? 😡 Seriously, instead of making Meera or Prithvi scold JL's mother about having such retard ideas they turned it into a patni dharm, pati seva, your fate to tolerate everything in the name of marriage, your duty to make a good man out of your useless husband crap 😲🤢😡

I am so ticked off by all this, thought this PH was sensible not like saas-bahu OTT How can an educated woman like Meera listen to her dialogues without strongly objecting? 😲 Not enough that they made her look at Prithvi & retrospect on her marriage I so hope CVs don't make Meera do something stupid in the name of marriage in future.

That is what there are other means of showing patni dharm than sending the message across by a wife beater & his stupid wife who sides with him 🤢

I actually thought it was a realistic portrayal of such situations. JL's mother shared her point of view, and as far as what I know of some regional cultures in India, this is not an alien perspective, but quite the norm. Meera asked her why she would support a man who hit her and got an answer from the woman. After listening to the woman, who is clearly in an emotional state, then for Meera to expound on the ills of domestic violence in that moment, would have come across as not only patronizing but also judgmental. She is not there to start a woman's lib movement in the village, but for her own reasons. And when a grown woman who has her mental faculties intact is telling you what she believes and to stay out of her business, the last thing she wants is for you to tell her how wrong her beliefs are (whatever your feelings on the issue may be). It was evident that it was not a behavior that Meera condoned, but she knew when to step back and let the woman handle her own relationships. For me, the main purpose of the scene appeared to illustrate certain aspects of Prithvi that were unknown to Meera before - as much as Prithvi can be a goonda, there is some code of morality that he follows (in his own way), which likely was a surprise to her (especially given how many times she has cringed from him thinking that he was going to hit her). It may sound like an oxymoron that a man who made a number of attempts on her life would be so against hitting a woman - but they are indeed two different issues (not to argue the point of whether a would-be-murderer or a domestic abuser is better in any sense). I think on the surface level, it's easy to pathologize and demonize all of them for their weaknesses, but for me it seems like the CVs are trying to balance story telling with reality as much as can be accomplished in a 70s style exaggerated love story drama.

Just my two cents.

Prithvi did a very right thing by putting that bloddy wife-beater (JL's Dad) in a sack. In fact he should have broken his bones. And the lecture that JL's Mom gave to Meera, "I am married and cannot run away from him...in fact I will stay with him and try to reduce his faults".
What crap! 🤢 ...what does she mean to say, that wives should accept and bear the torture given by their husbands. What are the makers trying to portray. Domestic and marital violence is a disgrace that no women should ever accept. How can the writers and the CV's even think of penning such dialogues. And that too at a time...when the entire country is reeling and debating about women safety and women empowerment (esp after the delhi incident). It is dialogues like these which further rot the brains of some weak women!

I am a fan of this show, but just beacuse I am a fan, doesn't mean that I switch off my brains and watch it.

Iam so glad that u have brought this point in front of everyone..👏...i mean i was so shocked wen Jeevanlals Mom started uttering those mindless crap sentences..Shocked😡...my blood was boiling..😡😡😡...trust me guys if at that time i wanted to strangle the CV's .😡😡...i mean it was just plain disgusting..😡🤢🤢...wat do the CV's and writers want to potrray by penning these stupid Masochistic dialouges.😡😡😡...that no matter how badly a woman is tortured by her husband ,😡 no matter how badly a husband beats his wife or abuses her 😡🤢but the wife should stick to it coz our so called crap sanskaar..😡😡...patnidharm says so😡😡...i mean W*F..😡😡..urghhh...😡😡..to hell with patnidharm and so called sanskaar😡😡...Prithvi did the right thing by beating that looser and putting him in a sack coz such wife beaters deserve same kind of treatment .👏👏...but no the writers at a time like this wen the entire nation is reeling after the unfortunate and brutal delhi incident.😡😡🤢🤢...want to convey the msg that woman should always bear the brunt..😡😡...and no matter what should stick to her husband coz she is born only to cook, bear children, get beaten and still sudharofy Pati 😡😡😡😡🤢🤢🤢🤢coz thats her dharm and marriage is beyond everything😡😡😡...Nothing is beyong your self respect and life 😊...absolutly nothing..😊...u know wat guys i think this shows the mentality of the writers and our society which is Masochistic andfilled with Bl@#dy Male chauvinists piggies...😡😡😡🤢🤢...Yuck....🤢..i think we should complain in the broadcasting forum...🤢🤢...wat say

Thank you all for giving different view points to the scene and I agree with most of u all. The CV's wanted to make Mithvi realize the importance of marriage, but the method which they adopted was so not done. They could have shown some different story, rather than this cliche wife-beating scene.🤢

I hope someone from the Junoon team read all our posts regarding this scene and just hope in future the CV's do no stick to such absurd and controversial tracks!!!! 😡

But the fact remains that that are still many daily soaps which stick to such male chauvinistic tracks and the fans blindly follow them, without raising their voices. Hope this mentality also changes!
