Dear Foram valas.

I am Shelly, an occasional commenter on the forum. Today I made this topic because I need your help in interpreting and understanding yesterday's episode.

I know that Lakhan was instigating it all and some of the villagers were his goons but I found the villagers' interest and comments about Mithvi child marriage odd. The marriage was illegal and it happened 20 years ago and between 2 children. Why were the villagers so interested in uniting the couple? Not only are they supposed to unite but have to live together and that too in the village forever.

People get married, they break up, they leave their villages and go live in other locations. They do all sorts of things. I found some of the dialogues and comments very strange. I know that it is a village and breakups are not common but couples must leave the village to live in cities to get jobs and other such things?

Why would Mithvi need to spend the rest of their lives there?
If say, Sunheri or Meera did get married under normal conditions and left their husbands, Data being an open minded man would welcome them back to live with him. So why all the talk of they have to live together bla bla bla. Do women NEVER leave their husband in villages?

I kind of understood their anger towards Data and his perceived betrayal but the interest in Mithvi was weird to me. Was this poor writing for the sake of creating drama or was it based on some reality of rural life?

Help me understand. PLEASE!

Hey..do be active in the forum
and yaa even i find really weird..pata nahi aisa kuch hota hai ya nahi in the villages may be panchayat jo bhi faisla kare shayad wahi karna padta hai otherwise i think they will really get punished...
for Mithvi to get married till that its ok as sudha ran away against to it they want that to happen otherwise they were ready to punish daata..but i dont get y Mithvi need to stay in the village forever its their life its their wish...who are the villagers to get into it hehe..
i think it was quite dramatic...😆
but am just waiting for something more reasons behind why Mithvi got married in childhood... :p

Shelly ... aside from the fact that I love it that Mithvi are to stay together for ever ... 😆

I can say only one thing this whole child marriage thing is pure drama plain and simple ... I dont think there's any rule that a couple should stay together that too in the village forever ...
