PART 3

Jodha and Jalal are sleeping peacefully in each other's embrace, their face contended with smile. Moti who came to check on Jodha, smiled seeing her friend happy, carefree face after a long while, closed the door and went to sleep with kids.

At midnight jalal woke up and saw jodha resting carefree in his arms as usual, he kissed her forehead, she just stirred in her sleep, mumbled something and slept again

He chuckled seeing her, observed the room and pain in his hand brought him to reality.

He observed jodha, black beaded mangalsutra is dangling on her neck, her forehead adored with sindoor, she's wearing all signs of marriage, wearing a simple baby pink kurti and legging, she's as simple and beautiful as ever. He observed that she has lost a lot of weight and become thin in the past 5 years, may be her husband is not taking good care of her

He is happy to see her, but what brought tears in his eyes is she wearing all signs of marriage, indicating she belongs to other person and she moved on in her life

He is happy for her, he is the one who pushed her away, but he couldn't digest that

He knows he is doing wrong, by hugging her, when she no more belongs to him, but he wants to cherish this moment, he want to be selfish. he can live a lifetime with this extra time he got with her

He was just looking at her filling her image into his eyes, brain, mind and body, slowly caressing her hairs. he was looking at her and thought about that fateful day of his life

FLASHBACK

Jalal was busy these days, working on an important project. his ammijaan kept business responsibilities on his shoulders soon after his marriage and was enjoying with her bahu cum daughter. those two became so close that jalal feels jealous of his own ammijaan at times

As such he is getting very less time with his darling wife because of this project and jodha is feeling too tired and sleepy these days. she is preparing for her post graduation entrance exam, working as doctor, looking after household needs like a dutiful DIL and wife, from the day of their marriage, they are always on their bed making loving to each other like 2 energy horses whenever they got chance....

Jalal suspected that she might be pregnant, but her UPT kit showed negative. she was sad, but he cheered her up saying that he'll do extra time

He still remembered how on the day of their marriage, when he asked her what gift she want,

She blushed and said "you are my gift, why will i need anything. but from the moment i started loving you, i wanted to have kids, you know... my own blood.. i know you all are my family, i love you all a lot, but i have no one related by blood, with kids, i can start my own family"

"Hey.. jodhu..baby, don't be emotional baccha... if we start our hardwork today, you'll be pregnant in a month. all i need is your co-operation" and he winked at her

She blushed and his her face in his chest

He laughed and lifted her in his arms and took her to their room

He smiled remembering that and sighed "come on jalal... work fast, our darling wife must be waiting for us"

He was doing his work, when his phone rang flashing her name. He smiled wide and accepted the call "Hey jaan ?? whasupp?? missing me ???" only to hear her beautiful laugh on the other end "jalal... when are you coming?? i am missing you a lot.. and.. i have a very good news to you, a very big surprise, come soon boo"

Her laugh is so contagious that he too smiled seeing her happiness "princess.. hey.. slow down.. have lot of work baby, will come soon"

"Please naa boo.. make it fast today.. i can't wait to share it with you and see your expression"

"What's that jodhu ??? you are making me curious.. tell me over phone.. "

"No jalal... that's not something to tell over phone... come early, i'll be waiting eagerly, i'll cook today all your favourite dishes.. oh god, i am so happy... come soon hubby, i'll be waiting for you"

With that he cut the call and started doing his work, smiling thinking about his wife's excitement

He wrapped up his work and was going home informing abdul, when he got call from his badiammi, not knowing that its going to turn his life upside down

She is a nurse in a hospital. While hamida gave birth to mirza, she had complications and had seizure attack, then humayun appointed maham to take care of hamida and jalal

She had a small son, adham who was 2 years younger to jalal

To take care of hamida, humayun arranged for her and her son to stay in their mansion itself

Jalal was emotionally connected to her as she used to take care of him when he missed his ammijaan

Don't know what happened, but humayun sent her and adham away to another far away place after 5 years just stating that her help is not needed anymore,

He saw maham only 6 months back in a hospital when he went to see his friend. From then he was in regular contact with her

She has called him urgently to hospital, stressed that its about jodha's and his life and asked him to come alone

He went to hospital immediately

Maham was waiting for him there "jalal... come with me, i am sorry you have to know this truth"

He tensed, thinking it was something about jodha, he prayed to god that nothing must be wrong with his jodhu

"Badi ammi.. you are just worrying me. what happened???"

"Jalal.. you remember that i asked you and all family to have complete body checkup 2 weeks back, well reports have come jalal, as you asked, i kept it confidential"

"Ok.. is something wrong in reports ??? is it about jodha?? she is fine right??"

"Jalal.. don't freak out, doctor will talk to you. she is trustworthy. she won't reveal anything to anyone. just be strong jalal. i'll be waiting outside"

He was hell worried and sat in front of doctor

"Well, mr.jalal, your reports have come. your ammi, brother and wife are fine, only you have some problem"

He first sighed and then tensed again

"Well, mr.jalal, you are infertile, you have ******** disease in your testis, you can never have children, actually we disclose this to couple together, but our sister mahamanga, requested me to tell you personally and individually."

Jalal was utter shocked, he couldn't really listen anything more, he sat there shocked, felt like his grounds her moving and he would fall any moment

Doctor called him a few more times louder and gave him a symathy look

He controlled his emotions "Doctor... if you don't mind, can i get my reports". he wanted to confirm it with another doctor

He smiled, took his reports and went away. He was thinking about jodha and her wish to have children, her happy tone to give him surprise. How can he tell this to her and break her heart

He couldn't even listen maham calling him from the moment he came out of doctor's cabin. He sat in his car and drove away,

He went to 2 different doctors and they too said the same thing, he was completely devastated.

He parked his car to a side, covered his face with his palms and cried bitterly

Jodha's wish that she want have her own baby kept on ringing in his mind.

He controlled his tears when he heard knock on the car window and saw maham's worried face.

He opened the door for her and cried bitterly hugging her, she consoled him, caressing his back

"How can i tell this to her badiammi, she wants to have a baby. that's the first ever thing she asked me, why this has to happen to me??? how should i tell her badiammi" he went on crying, he's not worried about anything but jodha's happiness. He cried, cried while maham consoled him and he became silent after a long time

Maham wiped his tears "jalal... don't get me wrong. i see how much you love jodha, if her happiness is what you want, let her go for her own good"

He immediately saw her with rage filled eyes. Maham saw his anger and gulped her saliva

"think with peace jalal, if you tell her, she will say that you are enough for her, as you are already sad, she won't even cry in front of you, she will just hide her pain and kill her wishes and she will act happy in front of you, can you see her like that???"

Seeing him silent, she continued "if you let her go, at first may be she'll feel sad and hurt, then she will learn to live without you, she will move on and have her own family. you want her happiness, no. you can't be selfish jalal."

"i know her badiammi. she can't live without me. she doesn't know anything about world, i took care of her like my baby, she never even buy anything for her, she always think of others, how can i leave such an innocent soul into this cruel world, i vowed to protect her, to take care of her, till my last breath."

"jalal, be strong, just think that you are doing everything for her, think what she deserves and then decide."

He was mum after that, drove Maham to her home, took his phone only to see multiple missed calls from jodha. He drove towards a hotel as he doesn't have enough courage to face her now and kept her a message that he's going to goa on business work and will be after a week and put his phone on airplane mode

In that one week he never messaged her nor lift her calls, not even his ammijaan's or any other call. he got a hold on his emotions in this one week and decided to let go of jodha for her own good

He reached home after a week, entered in only to see jodha looking at door as if waiting for him, her face beamed in joy seeing him, his heart broke into some more pieces seeing that, he ignored her and was going upstairs, when she called him "Jalal.. where were you??? i was calling you , but you didn't lift my call" she pouted at him

"STOP IT JODHA" he shouted at one making her step back in fear.

In these many years of their togetherness as friends, lovers, couple he never raised his voice at her, not even once. Her eyes immediately brimmed with tears

He again shouted "NOW WHY ARE YOU CRYING???" she couldn't control her tears anymore, when he continued "arey, can't you let me live in peace, i was working there. can't you understand that if i am not lifting your calls, i am busy doing work, always calling and disturbing me"

Hamida came out listening noise "jalaL, what is this ??? is this the way to talk to her, see she's already scared. now what's your problem"

"she... she is my problem, she is not letting me live in peace, i don't know what her problem is..."

Just then abdul entered and asked jalal not knowing about anything happening in home "jalal...what were you doing in a hotel these 7 days, just now they sent bill to our company's mail. jodha said you were going to goa"

"You didn't go to goa???" asked a shocked jodha

"No.. i was in hotel.. just now abdul told that, didn't you listen?? i was there to stay away from you, i want to be peaceful, want to stay as far as possible from you"

All three were shocked at his words.

Hamida shouted at him "jalal.. what's wrong with you??? what are you talking???"

"ammijaan, you please stay away from it"

When abdul was about to say something, he shut him up too

"see jodha, i'm feeling suffocated living with you, i want to live alone, if you ever loved me truly, please do this one thing for me, i want divorce, pack your bags and leave, i think i got bored of you"

Jodha moved forward to hold him, when he pushed her away. Hamida held her before she hit the ground

"Jalal, if its a prank, please stop it, we love each other, how can you get bored???" pleaded jodha

He laughed at her mocking "you really think i, the great jalal will love you.. someone like you.. really??all was a plan and poor innocent you fell in my trap. now i'm bored of you.. get lost from my home and life.. now i had enough with you, GET OUT"

He went upstairs, came back and said "and.. haa.. if you ever try to meet me or MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS, you'll see my dead body, from today your relationship with me and my family, friends is null"

She cried and cried falling on ground. She looked at hamida and when she was about to talk to her, Jalal threw her belongings "GET LOST!!!!!"

Hamida slapped him hard "get to your senses jalal. can you live without her.. i don't know what happened to you, just stop whatever you are doing... you can't let her go just like that, how can she live without us??? how can we live without her??"

"Yes, jalal, stop it man. what has happened to you all of a sudden"

He didn't answer them, just saw jodha and asked "Are you happy now ??? you made my own people against me... is something more left for me to bear and for you to enjoy, now will you please take your belongings and go"

She hugged hamida for the one last time and went towards door running, when he called her, "JODHAAA......"

All three looked at him in hope. He threw papers at her "sign these divorce papers, for all these years we spent together, you will get half of my property."

She just chuckled sadly "when the real treasure is not with me, why do i need these???"

She gulped her saliva and tears and ran away from door

Jalal moved upstairs when he heard his mother "abdul, look for some oldage home, i will go and live there. i don't want to live in this home which is not a home anymore, i lost my elder son and daughter today"

"Ammi.. come and stay with me.. please" pleaded abdul

"I never want to see that face of your friend's. only then i will come"

He agreed and took her with him and from that day, she never saw him or talked to him

Jalal couldn't even look into his mother's eyes, he went into their room, he could smell her fragrance at every corner, he laid on bed crying bitterly, when he felt her caressing his hair softly, he opened his eyes only to see her disappear just like that

FLASHBACK ENDS

Jalal looked at peacefully sleeping jodha and kissed her forehead "Sorry jaan... sorry for hurting you a lot.. i know what i did is not forgivable at all.. i just want your happiness."

He looked at her beautiful face and slowly slipped into deep slumber..

Jodha woke up to her alarm, she silenced her alarm, saw jalal was sleeping peacefully, ruffled his hairs, kissed his forehead, was about to peck his lips but backed off and told herself "No jodha.. you don't have that right anymore, he is not yours anymore."

She caressed his cheeks and asked to her sleeping form "why did you do this jalal??? how happy were we??? then what went wrong for you to say those words??? i wanted to share the happiest news of our life, that i have symbol of our life in my womb with you, i wanted to let you know first. i didn't even tell ammi that i was pregnant"

She remembered how happy she was when she got to know that she's pregnant

FLASHBACK

Jodha was working in hospital, just part time because she's preparing for her post graduation entrance, she finished checking patients, when she felt nauseous and went to washroom and came all tired as she vomited some food which she had, she was feeling too weak these day, she did her UPT as she had missed her periods too but it was negative.

She went to medicine dept, thinking it might be indigestion, they suggested to do another UPT, but she didn't want to have any hopes as it will be more hurtful later. she breathed heavily when she saw the second line indicating it is positive, that's when she realised that she is holding her breath

She went to OBG dept, and they did USG, confirmed that she's 7 weeks pregnant, she got more happy when doctor that she's having 2 gestation sacs, indicating twin pregnancy, which can be confirmed only after 10th week..

Doctor prescribed her medicines as per twin pregnancy requirements and told her all the care she has to take. she thanked doctor and took day off and called jalal immediately, she wanted to tell over phone, but wanted to see his expression and his million dollar smile, she didn't want to go to office and disturb his works

After he told her that he would come early, she went home, cooked all his favorite dishes,

At 8,when its almost his regular time to come home, arranged 2 big pieces of chicken steak and 2 small pieces and blushed imagining his expression

She served her ammi, hamida could see that jodha is more happy than other days, when he asked her, she just blushed. Seeing all jalal's favourite dishes cooked, Hamida smiled thinking they are going to spend special time together, she smiled and kissed her forehead.

She accompanied hamida till she ate and started waiting for him, its almost 12, but there's no news of him, by that time she has already called him multiple times. she called Abdul, but he said that Jalal left early because she called him

Now jodha got worried, Abdul consoled her and assured her that he would search for him.

Then at 1, she got his message that he's going to Goa, she tried calling him, but its unreachable, she informed abdul and went to their room, took his shirt and held it imagining him, "come soon jalal, i am dying to tell you this happy news of our life"

Next 7 days, there was no information on his whereabouts, her calls went unlifted, she felt so helpless, lost her zeal to do anything

Finally after whole 7 days, he came home, before she could say anything, he sent her out of his life, breaking all ties with her just like that. before her mind could understand and process anything, she was out of their home

FLASHBACK

She closed her eyes, letting tears to fall freely, it hurts her even today as it is a fresh wound

She wiped her tears, kissed his cheeks and confessed "even if you ended your relationship with me, i love you so much jalal, you were, are and will be mine, in my heart. you are the only one for me, i can never hate you, because the amount of love i have for you will dominate and suppress all other emotions in me"

She went and freshened up, woke up moti and kids, prepared pasta for breakfast

Moti had her breakfast "jodha.. i have night duty today, will you be okay??? or should i exchange" she asked indicating the room in which jalal is staying

Jodha smiled at her "i will be okay, moti. you carry on"

Moti hugged her "if he hurts you, or does anything, call me rightaway, ok?? i'm just a phone call away"

Jodha smiled at her best friend "i know.. he won't hurt me, you don't worry"

Moti broke the hug and mocked her "well he already have history of hurting you" and went to hospital

Jodha went to kids, made them ready for the day, fed them. They are so happy that their ammi will be with them today

Salim smiled at her and fed her, Jodha ate it and kissed his cheeks

Aram too followed her twin and smiled happily when her ammi kissed her

"Ammi.. today you will bake cake no???" asked aram eagerly

"why aram ??? is it any special today???" Jodha teased her

"ammi..." she whined and came with her smart reply "haa.. ammi today is my doll's birthday, lets celebrate"

Jodha chuckled and pulled her ckeeks

"buddhu.. aram.. dolls don't celebrate birthdays, they are non living"

"my dolls celebrate, salim. they are aram's dolls, they have to be special. ammi, you will let me celebrate my doll's birthday, no???"

Jodha caressed her hairs "as my aram wishes"

Aram showed her tongue to salim, salim too teased her making horns with his hands and both giggled and hugged each other

Jodha smiled seeing them, kissed their foreheads and fed them, they completed their breakfast with a lot of chatter and banter, feeding each other.

Jodha want to mix batter for cake, while children sat on mat in living room, salim was painting in his art book, while aram was playing with her doll house and after a while took remote of TV, salim too took remote at the same time, they pulled towards each other and TV got switched on, some news was being told, they both saw it and shouted "ammi... ammi... come here.. come soon.. "

Salim took a old photo frame of jalal and started comparing it with the person in television

Jalal's sound sleep was disturbed by noise outside his room.

He got up, stabilized himself and went to door, only to hear kids shouting "ammi... ammi... come here.. come soon.."

Soon he heard jodha's voice "arey... areyy... coming baba.. just a minute"

"No ammi... come soon abbu is here"

Hearing this jalal got really sad and shocked, in some corner of his heart, he hoped Jodha hasn't moved forward in her life and was waiting for him.

He took deep breaths, stabilized his emotions and came out of room to go away because he can't control himself if he stayed anymore. maybe he'll just abduct her and take her away with him

He came out and looked at kids, their back was towards him, he searched for their father and no one was there.

Then he heard boy telling "ammi.. abbu is so handsome, no.. just like me" he said pointed towards television

Jodha laughed loud and pulled his cheeks "yes, salim... but you are handsome like your abbu, not he is handsome like you." she teased him

Jalal came some more front and saw his interview was telecasting in TV

Aram, who don't want to be left out claimed, "ammi, see i also have mole on my chin like abbu, i am also like abbu, no"

Jodha giggled and hugged aram "yes baby, you both are like your abbu,happy ???"

they both grinned feeling happy

Jalal was shocked and confused why are they referring to him as their abbu. He checked once again, there was no one in living room. so they must be talking about him.

Suddenly he felt giddy and held the table beside him, vase fell down and that caught trio's attention

Jodha immediately ran towards him, supported him till couch and made him sit on couch

Kids immediately ran to him "ABBBUUU.... when did you come ???" they both asked at a time and giggled

Hearing their giggle, jalal couldn't help but smile, they looked just like him, one could easily tell they are his kids

He looked at jodha as if asking "are they ours"

Jodha just nodded with teary eyes, biting her lips to control her sobs
