It was with much difficulty that she had managed to change her name and identity and get employment in the haveli. But the stables was all she could gain access to.

Evil stable maids... bad they were in the original and here too!😡So, she was that courtesan's sister, eh? Ugh! I like the way you charted out the inner-workings of their plan, and how her being a stable maid advantaged their comings and goings! So, her fainting was part of her ploy to get in, which then escalated onto an assassination plot

Nope. She did faint as the vial slipped out of her hands. it was a mishap. She couldnt pretend faint - the haveli vaid would have found out, so would Heera.

Today she had added Poison to Khan Sahib's goblet. She knew that he was a man of habit and would choose his particilar cup from the tray. ( Bindiya told her that that one goblet had her Heera baisa's image carved as a design by the expert goldsmith and Khan Sahib would identify and choose it from any collection or display)

The latest mishap was with the builder. She had mistaken him to be Kunwarsa's man seeing the ring with him on the day she had accidentally bumped into him. And would have paid dearly for the misunderstanding but the flower girl had saved her from the situation and she now had those sealed papers. By now the poison would have killed the Mansabdar...

Her train of thoughts screeched to a sudden halt at the sight that confronted her. Standing before her was the silhoutte of the tall and sculpted frame of the Mansabdar. The sunrays that streamed through the trees behind him diffused to form a kind of halo around him making him look like a figure stepped out of mythology.
