This, my dearest Lashykanna, is pretty much all that I have to say right now about this masterly chapter. But it sums up all that need be said, does it not?

This one is a real tour de force. The fascinating nuances of characterisation apart - and they are in a way your trademark - one would imagine that you were temporarily possessed by the spirit of Rafael Sabatini, or another of the masters of the sword-and-dagger - duels-to-the-death genre. I literally held my breath all through the long, long fight to the finish.

A most satisfactory finish - it summoned up the bloodthirsty streak in my make up - and the silhouette of Durga in the stands - real or just part of Mahendar's continuing nightmare - almost made my hair stand on end.

I did not know that you had come up to No.57, for I don't remember receiving any PM for the last two chapters. I would not blame you for having given up on me as a lost cause, my pet!

In any case, today is the first day in 6 weeks that I have been able to sit up for a while, and as you can see, I have been putting this reprieve to the best possible use!
