Fourth reaction was of immense satisfaction and glee seeing the wolves giving empty hollow howls to show their valor and courage but miserably failing to do so!

Fifth reaction was of gloating and jubilation in seeing the Shehzade standing all alone, all lonely and miserable after the realization that no one is his 'loyal' subject be it FS, Khalil, or Piggy! They have personally erred him and if AMK is to be punished for treason then so should they, as well! ⭐️

Sixth reaction was of admiration for the Men of Ustaad who stood like a solid lighthouse in midst of a raging tempest till their last breath, willing to shed the last drop of blood for their Ustaad! 👏

Seventh reaction was of adoration for our protagonists who stood for each other all the way giving each other silent support and comfort through unsaid words and misty eyes!

Eighth reaction was of sheer delight, wonderment and amazement at how the Ustaad conveyed his secret messages to his men in spite of being in shackles and surrounded by innumerable guards and equally adept men of his who deciphered the message of his Ustaad! 👏

Ninth reaction is of sheer confidence that my AMK will come out victorious even if only 1 drop of blood is remaining in him. 👍🏼

Tenth reaction is of happiness that finally the Ustaad has freed himself from the bondage of his loyalty to his Huzoor! Huzoor's unthinkable loss in every respect and aspect, which he just got a glimpse of and freedom of AMK, a total abjuration from all his feelings that made him do what he did in court! ⭐️👏

But...but...but 50 lashes of Lashy on my AMK! 😭😭😭 I will not be able to bear it! 😭

Exactly Lana you've penned it so well. That's the exact feeling I went through. The end is sheer happiness only..

But seriously I loathe the Shehzade here after Khalil of course! He was vindictive and malicious out and out, of pure and sheer jealousy, as if seeing AMK standing on the doorstep of death brought him a sadistic pleasure! 😔😡

He is the future emperor, heir to the Mughal throne and this is his judgment!? Yes, he was self-centered always, selfish always, a calculating shrewd but a death sentence for merely concealing a fact which didn't bring any harm to him per se! Stoning to death in public of an honorable lady because she asked for justice for her dead sister? He deserves the infernos of hell, if you ask me! 😡He will be so lonesome, so miserable that he will crave for AMK and his company in future. He will have the major loss in his life but he will realize all this later! And he deserves it! He was even jealous of AMK's men's loyalty! Just to appease his ego he was ready to sacrifice them! 🤔😡

Punishment is usually equivalent to the crime and here death sentence for hiding a fact!! Eccentric, cruel, monster of a monarch! 😒

I did not have anything for Shehzaade because I know what happened for him unlike other characters because I see him as Aurangzeb always. Chellam once mentioned that Shezaade character was inspired from Aurangzeb. I'm not expert in history but as far as I know he is the one brought the downfall for the Mughal Empire and he was lonely in his last days.

Alright since you all are discussing this - let me add my two cents... after all, all of them are my characters, my brain-children - so it's difficult for me not to speak up about all of them unilaterally!

Chellam - Shehzaade is a very complex character for me. And the most difficult to write because he has so many sides to him. And he is my favourite villain from the pick. Because I like to be 'afraid' of him. It was the sort of 'iron hand' that Aurangazeb ruled with too.

Thing is, most of these royals tend to be moody - you meet them on a good day and they might even forgive a murder, you meet them on a bad day and you might be beheaded for stealing a loaf of bread. Which is why monarchy is very dangerous and democracy is a safer bet. You had a 'bad' tempered head of state - then poye pochu! Apparently, Akbar also used to be very short tempered and feared his own judgement. So, he made a rule that any of his judgements/sentences had to be passed by him 'thrice' so that he didn't unfairly punish anyone.

Yes, Shehzaade is sadistic and super-egoistic. Yes, he is vindictive. But we've always known that, haven't we? He could've treated Harka the same way - putting her in the dungeons, but he didn't. And he did heed AMK's words about Mahendar, Khalil and FS at the end! Is taking action against them too. He has several negative qualities, at the same time, a couple of traits that doesn't make him as dark as Khalil. And that makes him an interesting 'villain' for me to write about!

As for the rest, what Shehzaade did here (while very cruel) would not have been different from how MANY powerful emperors would've reacted. Unfortunately, 'fear' was always their modus operandi! And torturing prisoners into confession is something that was practised then - even practised now (Abu Ghraib???).

Stoning against women is prevalent in under-developed countries even today... so none of this is 'exceptionally' out of the norm. We hate him, because currently he stands opposite to AMK and is the only one powerful enough to make a difference either way, in the lives of ALL! Including our otherwise-invincible hero!

ETA- about the stoning, the details are real. I had to unfortunately read up some articles to understand at least a bit of what I'm writing about, before writing it... and like it said in the chapter - what has been read, cannot be unread! 😵
