Can you remember these situations that Khan Sahib put our poor Heera through?

1) She gave him no reply - seeing how he hadn't misread her. Not one bit. The admiration in her eyes was for everything he was doing for Parnagarh. The belongingness was because of the concern he showed while helping her come out of the episode.

He hadn't misjudged her body either. Yes, she did continue holding onto him long after she was alright. And yes, her heart had been speeding faster than a wild storm - it still was, merely thinking about what just happened between them.

>> chapter 37 offcourse...😳

khan sahib affected by her tears !

2) Her mind had been screaming 'No' throughout. Her heart had been warning 'Not yet'. But, her body had ignored everything to stay put in his arms, her limbs a willing captive in his clasp, while time froze for an impassioned beat or two - simply because a part of her relished the sensations in ways that she could not describe.

She hadn't even begun to fathom the kind of shudders that rippled through her spine when his fingers had cradled the soft of her neck. And it was because of this attraction that she knew it wouldn't take much to lure her onto the road of temptation today either.

>> guilt ridden heera , it was the time when she was not ready , wanted her sentiments to be understood and not to be forced for an answer.

3) She gazed at her fingers. Somehow, they felt different too. And now, there was something else she was tempted to try. Something more brazen.

'No!' logic lashed back at once, strictly warning against doing so 'Behave like a respectable Rajput woman... like an heiress... think of your circumstances!'

Compelled to rein in those temptations, she stalled.

But now that the idea had been planted in her head, it didn't want to go away 'Just once?' it stubbornly seemed to say

And thus, the internal war between temptation and logic brewed on for a long spell. Till temptation won its first battle against logic, in her young life.

Closing her eyes, Heera allowed herself to be sucked into an imagination... 'What if...'

>> ^ most favorite...

whe she was nudged by a gentle spurt of girlish curiosity...😉

4) 'Khan Sa...' Her eyes shut. Her startled fingers frantically clung at his back, creasing his overcoat with permanent folds. While she knew to expect the unexpected with him, the aura around them had indeed changed shades quite drastically. Fortunately for her, being housed in the arms she was meant to be in, also worked as a miraculous remedy for those nerves. Her nervousness soon ebbed into relief. And relief into bliss. Only for that blissful ebb to return with a wave of soft tremors that grew and grew, keeping pace with his growing thirst. Till her insides were swept by its thrills, thrown into a vortex of unfamiliar sensations.

It wasn't the first time. Yet and still it was more potent. Infinitely more so.

>> chapter 43

heera.. my love ...❤️

5) 'Oh alright...' Heera drew in a sharp breath, astonished by the forcefulness in his tone, as she replaced her palm on her lap.

Naturally then, the liberated veil withdrew from her face, slid down her hair, and gently dropped backwards, below her shoulders, leaving her face and features exposed, while she helplessly watched on like a marble statue. But what could she do? Fidgeting about would only make her look silly - especially after such an assertive warning from him!

It was the first time in her life that someone other than jiji had told her what NOT to do. After all, as an heiress, she was only used to giving orders, not receiving them.

However, strangely enough, once the momentary shock had worn-off, the young lady recognised she wasn't too offended by the outburst. The circumstances had understandably called for it. If anything, to have another person take charge of a situation - a man, who knew what he was doing - felt like a welcome change!

As for the troubling issue of their growing physical proximity - well...

1.The wonderful comments by Adwi..
As we reach the end of this trilogy... that's to say all the things happening within a single day... I admit how your expert skills, combined with sheer wit and planning, so seamlessly blended together so many events... not for once it needs telling that the day was so eventful all along!! That too so logically and convincingly!
Kudos to you my dear, Author! 👏

Hard times... the times were hard for Heera, quite so much..
-what with her messages hanging in an air of uncertainty, she herself is unsure about the fate of her messages, messengers and the much awaited reciprocation.

-what with her treatment ending in unanticipated failure... her most trusted chieftain in his death agony... and the only way to abate the agony appears... is to maim him physically for ever.

-what with her identity having being revealed and an escapade mission becoming an absolute necessity!
Thus quite understandably so her young heart seeks respite.. reassurance... and a brief spell of distraction to unburden her worries... and it's there because...

The Eyes Have It...all of it , rather, from the soothing conscience like company of a motherly maid, whose heart thinks and lives for her services... what an incredible lady is your Gauri! This enchanting soul... not just acts in favour of her mistress,so much so that, even before she unburdens her thoughts, she thinks twice... I'm sure and Heera would also agree with me, that Gauri is her lost mother in the guise of a maid! 😳

The Eyes have a tongue of their own accord, I say, otherwise how a pair of partially sighted mellifluous orbs so subtly communicates with a pair of deep dark ones, as dark as His reality, as guarded as His persona... surely the Eyes have a language of their own likeness, else how do the veils and curtains fail in their duties... how do they speak away, the Gratified and the Grateful... the Flickering Flame, so respectable and sacred and the Keeper of the Flame!

Most certainly the Eyes have it, else how could you write down something so sensational... so pure... so eloquent and yet so subtle!!

The Dip in the Pool... deep, deep and deeper still he plunged headlong, the icecold water whipping him out of fantasy if any... the musk washing away leftovers of a mesmerising encounter if any... hard voice of conscience resurrecting walls of resistance all over again... he plunged headlong into the swirling waves of the Pool of Agony!! Worse, He took us readers along with Him... still we are assured that at least He ATE before all that😉

I patiently wait for mysteries to unfold... and those segments of Raja Chittaranjan being too mere to write anything now, the bustling maids have been spoken about... and any ill effects of their evil eyes curbed with Saraswathi Aunty's remedies... so I will end my review, please bear with it! I think it's too long 😆

After watching China's display in the previous instalment, the sports minister made a clear announcement 'Do NOT expect that sort of grandeur here!'
Modern slavery

Qatar's construction frenzy ahead of the 2022 World Cup is on course to cost the lives of at least 4,000 migrant workers before a ball is kicked, the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) has claimed.

The group has been scrutinising builders' deaths in the Gulf emirate for the past two years and said that at least half a million extra workers from countries including Nepal, India and Sri Lanka are expected to flood in to complete stadiums, hotels and infrastructure in time for the World Cupkickoff.

The annual death toll among those working on building sites could rise to 600 a year almost a dozen a week unless the Doha government makes urgent reforms, it says.

While it admits that the cause of death is not clear for many of the deceased with autopsies often not being conducted and routine attribution to heart failure, it believes harsh and dangerous conditions at work and cramped and squalid living quarters are to blame.

The stark warning came after a Guardian investigation revealed that 44 Nepalese workers died from 4 June-8 August this year, about half from heart failure or workplace accidents. Nepalese migrants have died at a rate of one every two days in 2014 despite Qatar's promises to improve their working conditions. [The figure excludes deaths of Indian, Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi workers, raising fears that if fatalities among all migrants were taken into account the toll would almost certainly be more than one a day.]

Workers described forced labour in 50C heat, employers who retain salaries for several months and passports making it impossible for them to leave and being denied free drinking water. The investigation found sickness is endemic among workers living in overcrowded and insanitary conditions and hunger has been reported. Thirty Nepalese construction workers took refuge in the their country's embassy and subsequently left the country, after they claimed they received no pay.

Without changes to working practices, more workers will die building the infrastructure in the runup to the World Cup.

It is estimated that Qatar, the world's richest country by income per capita, is spending the equivalent of 62bn from its gas and oil wealth on building transport infrastructure, hotels, stadiums and other facilities ahead of the World Cup. "Fifa needs to send a very strong and clear message to Qatar that it will not allow the World Cup to be delivered on the back of a system of modern slavery that is the reality for hundreds of thousands of migrant workers there today"

😒

& no action taken...😔

this is truly sad .

Heera relishing the first touch in meadows and trying Adab..

3) 'Khan Sa...' Her eyes shut. Her startled fingers frantically clung at his back, creasing his overcoat with permanent folds. This is after Heera's confession and before IM's interruption. The KISS 😉😆

4) 'Oh alright...' Heera drew in a sharp breath, astonished by the forcefulness in his tone, as she replaced her palm on her lap.

Naturally then, the liberated veil withdrew from her face, slid down her hair, and gently dropped backwards, below her shoulders, leaving her face and features exposed, while she helplessly watched on like a marble statue. If anything, to have another person take charge of a situation - a man, who knew what he was doing - felt like a welcome change!

As for the troubling issue of their growing physical proximity - well...

Scorpion scene at that old temple..

5) No sooner than she stood on steady ground, the heiress straightened her veil and then turned around to gauge the heights that she had scaled. Her lungs were still panting for air, but her heart was filling up with a strange sense of achievement. After all, she'd just accomplished a feat that she'd never done before.

Hoping to thank him for his support, her glances trailed towards his outline. But she could make out that the man was busy.

The 16 year old thought better of it and decided to reserve her gratitude for another day, for another time - if it ever came. Thus, picking up a branch, she commenced her journey.

Barely few strides on, and Heera stopped in her tracks - she recalled how she'd done something else that she hadn't done lately.

Sometime earlier, she had almost smiled.

The canal bank.. Their first meet eye to eye..

6) As soon as Heera realised what it was that the Sahib was doing, a soft gasp replaced the half smile that'd been adorning her lips. Her stoic features that'd never known of any such emotions, felt their first rush of heat - leaving her fair cheeks a few shades closer to the colour of her glossy lips.

She sensed that the official 'Thank you' must have been quite a brazen move for him - and not brazen in a negative way. So, the 'woman' in her admired it.

And just as she was coming to terms with it, she believed she spotted something else quite astonishing - something that'd stopped her thoughts in their tracks.

His adab after the feast..

15 years in Bahrain? 😲

WC-only watched a bit of the prize- giving ceremony and the celebrations on the field after I came back from school ( a good 17 hours after the match ). 😳

Till then, had no clue as to who were champions. My colleague said when he went to bed , France was leading.😊

But where is our in-house sports correspondent , Lavanya , no feedback from our Sahiba on the final match. 😕

Lana, the Qatar WC stadiums - spectacular arenas! Thanks for the link, Sahiba.🤗

Lashy Sahiba, will attempt the quiz after posting responses and hopefully before dinner.😃
