I am Trapped

There are some things that I love,

There are some things that I hate.

There are some that I consider dishonour,

there are some that I appreciate.

There are some that I don't care much about.

But that I want to get out of here, is a fact without a doubt.

While waiting till I can escape this place,

Time moves from hours to days to weeks - time that has been a waste!

The patience in my system is dwindling, I don't have much of it left.

This agony and pain, sometimes I feel like I am on my last breath.

'Death' if proven guilty, is what I'll face

For a crime that held no evil whatsoever, in the first place.

It makes me wonder what would've happened, had that messenger just died -

Well, I wouldn't be sitting here in hell, burning on the inside!

Yet, I wait for the day that by Huzoor I will be heard,

The day I hope I shall be understood by my brother, and released

Till then, I lay in bed, with memories of her for company, tossing about and turning,

Staying put - for God knows how long - in this man-made hell, largely of my own making!

But, I gotta be fearless
