I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
I wandered as lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er the hills and vales
When all at once I saw a crowd
A host of lovely Banjara girls
All young and found globally spread
Chatting and rejoicing in the thread!
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way
They are non stop in their poetic lines
That I witness in the thread every day
Quite a number I see at a glance
Vying with each other to get a chance
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazedand gazedbut little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
The rest besides them enjoyed; but they
Are talented in several other ways
A seventy plus could not be but gay
In such a wonderful company ever and always
I wonder-I wonder- and cheerfully thought
What wealth this family to me had brought!
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In a thoughtful or pensive mood
The pleasure of being a part of the family
Which is the bliss of solitude
Fills my heart with great pleasure
And makes me dance like a teenager!
