After the nerve-racking read of C48, and more stable now to comment, some fine details came to mind! 😃

We see the beginning of the chapter in a faltering prayer which took the most powerful Man living then to pay his obeisance to the Lord! His mind was not in the prayer because it was elsewhere trying to come to terms with some disturbing news he received about his CIO, friend, brother! It was unpalatable and unbelievable and it reflected in his disturbed prayers!!

Later in the chapter, we also come across a situation where Heera runs to pray for her husband! There she might have forgotten in her shocked stance to say the prayer in front of him wishing him good luck but she did finish her prayer without faltering looking at his departing figure, no matter how minuscule he looked from afar! It was done from the heart with utmost sincerity, devotion and honesty! Now to be seen will be, whose prayers the Lord adheres to, whose devotion has more truth and purity!

Secondly, Farooq Sahib's description fits the cunning old owl to the T! His pristine black robe without a crease initially gave a commendable image with a balanced head on his shoulders. But slowly and steadily we get to know of this person whose insides are darker than his robe itself! And his mind is crooked enough to compensate for his somber looks! What a contrast!

Also what a piece of irony we see!! The messenger because of whom we are seeing this day set out on an honest mission with no selfish, dishonest or evil intentions and yet the outcome of his loyalty has unleashed this terrible tempest that will shake the very roots of his Baisa for whom he set out to give up his own life! If things go wrong then his intention of saving her life and honour will do exactly the opposite! 😔 What a waste of life, effort and all the ordeals he underwent!

Even Heera's predicament comes to perspective here!! Her plight to get help against Khalil asking for justice have got her here today! Her intentions were not wrong in any way but circumstances were wrong! For that one deed what a massacre KS's men had to see, her loyal messenger left a trail of death behind him, and now a battling uproar is trying to raise its ugly head! Good intentions but wrong outcome!! Unfortunate fallacies of fate! 🤔 I really felt for her, what she went through feeling guilty in front of KS! Her one deed let them here today!!

And Shehzade, one small action and last 10 year's dedication, devotion, loyalty, love...all washes away! He is cunning and smart but also bull-headed in some ways! All he saw is he might have committed treason but is he seeing what treason? Did KS go against him and aided his foes? Did he conspire against him to be thrown out of power? Did he make a pact with his opponent to dethrone him? No!! Even if he did what he did, it is clear he did it out of Love, to save Heera, to save her people and lands! Nothing more, nothing less! He still worked as his CIO and kept fighting all his battles for him, taking the arrows of his enemies and vanquishing them in return! But all this does not count? Only what matters was he concealed about Heera's scrolls and married her cunningly with Shehzade's blessings! Yes, Lashy, maybe the Prince felt more for AMK, he was possessive about him and that is why he felt betrayed! He felt jealous of his friend, brother, CIO is more dedicated to his Begum than him, his Huzoor! Some quirky notions of faithful loyalty and devotions! 🤔😳

Yes, 'The twisted ways of fate'! That pouch containing the Taveez also was so poignant!! It was heartwrenching to see how both craved and yet bravely let go of one another physically and literally! Laddoos brought a sweet reunion of the couple reminiscing about the experiences of devouring the last laddoo by KS! I will await to see this time how the Taveez will bring a sweet reunion in future! Fingers crossed!

Also the hope of the new beginning in KS's mind about the canal dug in Parnagarh gave rays of hope only to be doused later by the following developments! But we all know, to have a new beginning we have to go through an end first! 😃 So the quagmire of apprehensions that we feel now will have a new beginning but only after the gold is put in the fire to come out pure and chaste! Hence we will wait to see the new beginning! 😃

These contrasts and contradictions played a big part in this chapter and some were very subtle and some very pointedly reflected them!!
